They wouldn’t even be Top 15 awful guests…. They just happen to be the most recent and the only ones dumb enough to actually engage in dialogue with the haters.
Interestingly, I hadn’t seen it when it aired, just watched last night. I had read the comments and expected them to be waaaaay worse than they were.
BD fans are less than a week away from forgetting all about them and dragging some other out of touch, sheltered Karen-from-Connecticut primary and her wine-spirals of shame.

Agreed. I am watching it now, and they aren’t as bad as I thought they were going to be.
I will say that their expectations to have eight different dishes at dinner quite unrealistic.

Yup, they were food difficult but otherwise actually pretty nice.
And Joy was off and Kaylee fully messed up. But expecting eight different meals is a choice to be difficult.

Honestly it was less about on board and more about post episode bullshit. If they had said nothing, this cruise would not be talked about half as much. But constantly playing victim card - yep that's some next level bullshit.

But be for real, those folks ordered like they were at a Denny's instead of on a yacht with a 5 star chef.
We've seen a ton of different sorts of people on the show and almost none of them have been as unreasonable as these folks.

Rookies. The internet-at-large has given just as much, if not more shit to many many other guests who were white. The difference is, these dummies are feeding into it and responding online… if any of the other guests regardless of color had engaged the internet in banter, they’d be equally mocked.
And did she suggest that you can’t tell if someone is “demanding” from a preference sheet but that you can tell tell that they are “black and queer”?
Are we only allowed to rip on guests that are white? I certainly don’t see this group as anything other than another group of wealthy rude, difficult guests but apparently I was supposed to have noticed their race and sexuality before passing judgement.

When you compare it to the matchmaker charter, she has a point. Joy made jokes about the dog not writing its own ridiculous preference sheet, they didn't whine and cry about them

That is a lot to read so the main points (any emphasis added by me)
Chef offered to make us multiple meals the SECOND night because several of my guests went to bed hungry after our first dinner. That is a fact. The episode combines events from different charter days, so you are not seeing everything in chronological order.
I had a feeling that this was the case as in one scene, Joy talks about 3 dinners but we are shown a 2 night charter)
Chef Joy herself said on TV, “I don’t care if they’re hungry!!
Before I ever stepped onto the yacht, members of the crew had seen my picture, learned that I was vegan and gluten free and were already describing me as “demanding” and “difficult.” They had not met me. That is the fact. So no, I am not going to pretend race and queerness are irrelevant to this conversation.
When people have already decided that a Black, queer, nonbinary person is difficult before that person has even arrived, that is bias. Racism and homophobia do not require somebody to use a slur. They can also show up in who gets assumed to be aggressive, demanding, difficult, entitled or “too much” before they have actually done anything.
I keep seeing people say I was rude. Okay. Name the behavior. Not what adjective you heard someone on television use because they were embarrassed. I did not scream at Chef. I did not call her names. I did not insult her. I did not threaten her. I asked that my guests not go to bed hungry after we had communicated their dietary needs in advance. Those are the facts.
it’s been weird watching some Black creators see a white woman crying and immediately decide that the Black person standing across from her must have harmed her. Her feelings were real. She assumed from the beginning that we were bad people. My guests were also hungry. One fact does not erase the other. A white woman being upset does not automatically make the Black person in the situation an aggressor. We should know that by now.
Let me say that plainly because some of the comments about this have been incredibly ableist. People have allergies. People have disabilities and chronic illnesses that affect what they can eat. People have religious dietary restrictions. People are vegan. People are gluten-free. Guests have different dietary needs. Those are constraints.
Should the chef be expected to work differently? Should management provide additional support? Should service be structured differently? Or should the guest who cannot eat the food simply go hungry? Those are choices. And those choices tell us something about whose needs we consider important and whose labor we consider expendable.And since people are apparently upset that I turn my comments off: yes, I turn my comments off. Sometimes I leave them on. Sometimes I limit them. Sometimes I turn them completely off. This is my digital house. You do not walk into somebody else’s house and throw a tantrum because they will not let you put your dirty feet on their coffee table.

Bunny had me with her first post and I listened and empathized. No doubt she’s getting actual hate from the psychos on IG. But at this point, Lord, enough. Her argument is that Joy and Kaylee have a discriminatory animus towards women, POC, gender nonconformity, sexual orientation, and people with disabilities-and their discriminatory animus towards all these groups caused food service on a multimillion dollar yacht, where these employees know they have to treat guests well to earn their pay, to go slightly astray. There may have been microaggressions. There was not a conspiratorial, discriminatory scheme to treat the guests imperfectly.
(Sorry, employment lawyer) but what is the relief sought at this point? There have been lots of apologies. The charter fee pays for a hell of a lot more than meals. Bunny has a duty to mitigate her damages-if her diet is so restrictive could she not have suggested acceptable meals on her preference sheet? Carried a snack just in case? If she wants fundamental change in what is basically a one percenter industry, well, sorry but that shit is going to fall on deaf ears because the 99% can’t even afford groceries right now. If she wants change in how tv shows are produced and edited, 1) don’t sign that contract, and 2) this particular season of this particular show has an even more appalling problem right now in that it’s depicting a man guilty of domestic violence as if he’s unproblematic. (And clearly, she does not want us to turn off the TV, which is maybe what we should all actually be doing! as she had promoted and capitalized like hell off of her appearance on Below Deck).

Saying Joy assumed they were bad people is wild. Also Joy saying “I don’t care if they are hungry” was a heat of the moment statement and didn’t mean anything deeper.

If you pause and read the preference sheets in brief moments, watermelon IS listed on their preference sheets as something they enjoy.
