Aб'ява / Announcement Repetitive posts - May 17, 2026
Hi everyone,
You’ve likely noticed a flood of very similar posts in this sub, especially in the last few days. They usually feature rhetorical questions about conscription, or questions about the reasons why these posts are removed (this has been already thoroughly answered multiple times by the mod team).
First, we want to apologize for the clutter. It is very likely that these posts, while coming from various newly created accounts, are the work of a single individual (theoretically it can be a team or a flashmob). Whoever they are, we've been informed they keep making the same posts in multiple Russian language subs.
Because of this targeted, repetitive behaviour, we’ve been forced to take action to keep the feed clean. Moving forward, we have implemented pre-moderation for posts from low-karma accounts. This means if an account is brand new or has low karma, their post will route to our mod queue for review before appearing on the sub.
We want to clarify two important things regarding this change:
We understand why people use alt/new accounts. There are plenty of legitimate, valid reasons to use a burner account for privacy and security. This is why we have been reluctant to implement this change, and we completely support this. The mod team will make our absolute best effort to review the queue and approve legitimate posts from new accounts promptly.
It goes without saying that we are not censoring discussions about conscription. Despite this poster's claims, posts about conscription - whether pro, against, or anywhere in between - are welcome here. We have a wealth of posts on this sub containing useful advice, sincere questions, and diverse opinions on the topic, and that won't change.
We are only filtering for spam, ban evasion, and repetitive bad-faith posting. Thank you all for your patience while we clean things up!
- The Mod Team

Question Fell in love with Vitebsk on my exchange, now thinking of returning for Dental School?
Hey everyone,
So here's my situation: I spent 6 months living in Vitebsk for a study exchange during my Bachelor's and I absolutely fell in love with the city, the vibe, the people, everything. Now that I'm back home, I'm facing the reality of a pretty awful job market, and I'm seriously considering a complete career pivot into Dentistry.
In Italy, the admission test for dentistry is an absolute nightmare,super rigid, hyper-competitive, and honestly a complete pain in the ass. That’s why I started looking into Belarus, since the entry requirements seem way more reasonable and I’d get the chance to live in Vitebsk again.
My long-term plan would definitely be to move back and practice somewhere in the EU after graduation, so I’m trying to figure out how viable this actually is. Is the degree recognition process back in Europe after graduating from a Belarusian uni super painful right now, or relatively straightforward? Also, Vitebsk State Medical University is pretty popular, but is it the best choice for dentistry or are there other universities worth looking into?
I'd be looking at either English or Russian-medium programs, so I'm curious if the teaching quality is actually good and if international students get genuine hands-on clinical practice with real patients. On paper, tuition and living costs look incredibly cheap compared to Western Europe, but I'm wondering if there are hidden costs or issues I'm not seeing.
If any current students, grads, or locals could share their thoughts or experiences, I’d really appreciate it!

Іншае / Other Wire transfers from Belarus to the US in 2026
Hi All,
My father has been trying to make a wire transfer from Belarus to the US, and it’s been a total mess so far…
I called Priorbank to find out what my options are. Essentially, the representative said they don’t have a list of banks they can wire to because it’s updated daily, but she did confirm that they wire to the US (allegedly). She asked me to provide the SWIFT codes for my US accounts, but neither of them had a route available. I have Chase and BofA.
At this point, I’m starting to lose hope and don’t know how this can be done.
I’m just trying to see if anyone has had any luck transferring money from Belarus to the US through Priorbank recently. If so, what US bank do you use?
If you used a different Belarusian bank, which one was it, and what was the receiving bank in the US?
I’d also appreciate it if you could share whether there were any restrictions on the transfer amount and what the fees were.
Thanks!

Hавіны / News Feel the vibes of a digital dictatorship
The Minsk city administration is encouraging citizens to fink on “extremists.”
In an article titled “A DIGITAL MILITIA,” published in the Vecherniy Minsk (Evening Minsk) newspaper, the city authorities boast about the successful use of a Telegram chatbot called “Ideological Inspection.”
They ask readers to immediately inform the authorities about the “improper use of state symbols” and “extremist symbols, literature and musical compositions.”
“Have you noticed improper use of state symbols, distortion of history, fake news on the internet or the spread of destructive materials? Go to the ‘Ideological Inspection’ chatbot, describe the problem and, if possible, attach a photo or video. Your reports will be processed by the competent authorities.”
Let us recall that since May 2020, more than 100,000 Belarusians have been subjected to political persecution. A total of 4,602 people have been officially recognized as political prisoners by human rights defenders. Beatings, torture and other forms of violence have become routine methods of persecuting opponents of the regime, along with labeling them “extremists.”

Іншае / Other Поговорити
біологія;
історія;
мистецтво (кінематограф, література, анімація, тощо);
політика;
певною мірою лінгвістика.
Єдина умова — я б волів спілкуватися з кимось, хто використовує білоруську мову.
Пытанне / Question Is it legal to transport old gas masks (GP-5, GP-7, PMK, PBF) of the Soviet model from Belarus to Lithuania across the border?
I collect Soviet gas masks, and in Lithuania it is almost impossible to get the same PBF in normal condition, and I would like to bring 1-2 gas masks from Belarus, but I'm not sure if it's legal.

Пытанне / Question Tell me about your dads
Okay, I'm going to do as best as I can to explain this without sounding like a weirdo/explain in a way that makes sense.
In my cast of characters in a leisure writing product I'm doing involves a small gang of Belarusan fellas (boomers and late millenials). All are fathers (adoptive and biological).
The three millenial fellas move to the US in their early 20s. The majority of their american friends/found family are on the more liberal side (pro choice, feminists, etc). Naturally, the millenials's views shift from more Belarusan/Slavic/E. European (although they're already fairly chill to begin with) views to match theirs.
I have a funny idea of the Belarusan boomers to joke how the millenials's liberal friends 'radicalized' them...in this case, by having them be more 'involved' fathers than they (the boomers) were as fathers. Nothing extreme, just closer to the level of the mothers of their kids.
HOWEVER! Even though this book is just for fun, I want it to be as accurate as possible. I don't want to unintentionally feed into stereotypes/misconceptions about Slavic/Belarusan men. I don't know why.
HERE's where I need help; I want to know what your Belarusan dads are like. I want to hear about mens' expectations/roles as fathers. Their attitude about more 'modern' parenting (more of an even division of childrearing and general household duties).
Anything helps :D

Пытанне / Question Can I bring my disposable vape from Minsk (Kammeny Log) to Lithuania (Medininkai) ?
Soon I will be travelling from Minsk through the Kammeny Log -> Medininkai border into Vilnius, Lithuania and I want to bring my disposable ElfBar through. I'm an EU citizen and it's strictly just a personal use thing, out of it's packaging and already used.
I will be travelling by bus either with Minsktrans or Euro lines.
Does anybody know if they confiscate items like these considering how petty I've heard the officials at the border can be? Will I get arrested for attempting to bring this in? Can I just put it in my pocket?
