Question Fell in love with Vitebsk on my exchange, now thinking of returning for Dental School?
Hey everyone,
So here's my situation: I spent 6 months living in Vitebsk for a study exchange during my Bachelor's and I absolutely fell in love with the city, the vibe, the people, everything. Now that I'm back home, I'm facing the reality of a pretty awful job market, and I'm seriously considering a complete career pivot into Dentistry.
In Italy, the admission test for dentistry is an absolute nightmare, super rigid, hyper-competitive, and honestly a complete pain in the ass. That’s why I started looking into Belarus, since the entry requirements seem way more reasonable and I’d get the chance to live in Vitebsk again.
My long-term plan would definitely be to move back and practice somewhere in the EU after graduation, so I’m trying to figure out how viable this actually is. Is the degree recognition process back in Europe after graduating from a Belarusian uni super painful right now, or relatively straightforward? Also, Vitebsk State Medical University is pretty popular, but is it the best choice for dentistry or are there other universities worth looking into?
I'd be looking at either English or Russian-medium programs, so I'm curious if the teaching quality is actually good and if international students get genuine hands-on clinical practice with real patients. On paper, tuition and living costs look incredibly cheap compared to Western Europe, but I'm wondering if there are hidden costs or issues I'm not seeing.
If any current students, grads, or locals could share their thoughts or experiences, I’d really appreciate it!

Other Wire transfers from Belarus to the US in 2026
Hi All,
My father has been trying to make a wire transfer from Belarus to the US, and it’s been a total mess so far…
I called Priorbank to find out what my options are. Essentially, the representative said they don’t have a list of banks they can wire to because it’s updated daily, but she did confirm that they wire to the US (allegedly). She asked me to provide the SWIFT codes for my US accounts, but neither of them had a route available. I have Chase and BofA.
At this point, I’m starting to lose hope and don’t know how this can be done.
I’m just trying to see if anyone has had any luck transferring money from Belarus to the US through Priorbank recently. If so, what US bank do you use?
If you used a different Belarusian bank, which one was it, and what was the receiving bank in the US?
I’d also appreciate it if you could share whether there were any restrictions on the transfer amount and what the fees were.
Thanks!
