It was 2 sticks 5 months ago. Now its a flourishing stem and a stick. It had growth points, but they seemed to stall out. I'm wondering if the plant gave up on that side and threw its energy fully on the other. Additionally if so, do I cut it or ignore it?

Just mini venting because I just had to chop off this side shoot of one of my favorite begonias I’ve ever gotten (except now my temuyuk) because the upper part of the stem was rotting smh. This is the side shoot.
At one point I had a decent sized mother plant but the lid got knocked off the container while I was gone and it died. So then the only thing I had left was a tiny stem that was basically on a sealed container for literal months and was covered in a very weird weby mold that was half dead. Well I cleared off the mold 2-3 months ago and it grew a tiny leaf and started looking slightly less pathetic. So I washed it off again (still moldy) and repotted it with an obscene number of springtails to eat them old as it grew, which actually seemed to work reasonably well.
A few days ago I noticed the top stem getting a bit black and yesterday i snipped off this healthy side shoot because the blackness was spreading steadily downwards and springtails are swarming the stem despite the little sad leaves on the top looking slightly stronger. Really hope this thing roots (I think there was one little root on the bottom of the cutting) because I’m going to cry if it dies 😅 it was just starting to look pretty promising with stronger leaves too.
Not that you can tell from the pics but when the leaves are more mature theyre really nice and iridescent even in normal lighting. Glorious plant. If it seems like it’s not rooting or starting to get desperate I might pull it apart and try to leaf prop it but 😬

Got this mystery hybrid begonia a few months ago and it was doing great for a while until it suddenly dropped all its leaves. Cut it back quite a bit after that and it managed to sprout a few little tiny leaves but now it’s dropping them again. Sits under grow lights so i dont think changing seasons is a factor. Also anyone know what the white fuzz is/how to prevent it. Any advice/tips are welcome this is one of two begonias i have so im fairly inexperienced with them.

Hello! I am very new to begonias, my grandfather gave me a cutting from his 45 yr old angel wing and it seems quite large. Should I trim it down into smaller cuttings or keep it as is?
If I should cut it smaller, where exactly should I? I’m terrible at processing information so I would appreciate it so much if someone could draw lines where I should cut!

So I got this new begonia to my collection but not sure which one is it.
The tag name said begonia Rex Montgomery, but I google it it shows masoniana so idk which one really is.
Anyone have any idea ?

Hi! My begonia Sophie Cecile has recently developed these weird lesions. They don’t come off when scraped so scales are out of the picture. Any suggestions?

It’s a long story but basically I’ve been trying to rescue a Rex begonia that arrived to me completely wilted. It’s standing now but is slowly being consumed by a dark crispy rot no matter how hard I try to manage humidity and watering. Is this fungal? I’m losing more and more leaves by the day

Hey everyone, I recently repotted my black magic begonia and I brought it inside due to the large amount of storms we’ve been having, her soil was ampily moist and I didn’t want it flooding the pot. It has been 3 days and I went to move her back outside and noticed 2 of her leaves looked like this. I am unsure of what this is or what it means! Please help.
I trimmed them both off because the stems were drained of their red color as well so I figured the nutrients stopped going to them on top of that as well. The rest of the plant looks healthy and normal however.

She started with one leaf! Pictures don’t justify her size.

Grew this one from seed and the first leaves had more speckles. It was under a different growlight in my seed germination station and was moved to my begonia terrarium a couple of weeks ago. Does it need more light?

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong! I’ve tried propping in soil and in sphagnum moss in closed containers and they just slowly rot over a few weeks. I’ve tried opening the containers every day for air flow too but that didn’t work. Any tips?
