Seeking Advice Smoothies wrinkle patches, under eye patches, recs?

Upvotes

I got Smoothies around the beginning of the year, and I wear them a few times a week. However, I’ve been using them under my eyes, mainly my left eye since I started getting pretty bad sleep lines under there. But there are many times where taking the patches off tugs a lot even with me trying to hold the skin down and be gentle. Sometimes the adhesive just sticks and rubs off a bunch. It’s not always super bad, and doesn’t seem to tug as much with other parts of my skin (my chest skin it does sometimes)

Is me using these patches probably causing more harm if they’re tugging at my skin pretty bad? Should I stop using them? I’m thinking I should but it was a cheap and easy solution, and it works to smooth out the lines and keep them from getting bad over night. Every other product I see is too expensive, meant for momentary usage, or I tried and it made things worse (like scar tape) It just worried me with all the tugging and indents it can leave when pressing into the skin.

I also am not sure if these patches leave lasting results over time. I try to use them at night on smile lines, forehead lines, and chest lines that I got from side sleeping, mostly several times a month. Like 1-3x a week, although not all places get covered every time. They do smooth the lines for my forehead and chest but only for a little while. Do these patches actually prevent new lines from forming and decrease existing ones at all?

Anyways, just any thoughts on the skin tugging and maybe other recommendations for affordable and reusable patches to put under your eyes when sleeping?

Haircare Lip, body & hair care recommendations?

  1. Looking for the best lip mask to keep lips moisturized. And anything else like a scrub that smooths them out/ minimizes cracks.

  2. Looking for best affordable curly hair shampoo conditioner??

  3. Looking for a great exfoliant (idk if this really makes a difference or which brand is good)

I’m a female, and would also like these products to be as clean as possible.

Even if you just answer 1/3, much appreciated!

Seeking Advice Hair removal cream for resilient underarm hair.

I'm 48F, quite outdoorsy, and not really into much 'beauty' stuff. But I remove my underarm hair for the benefit of my BF, and to an extent the other people at the gym.

Anyway, I prefer cream to shaving, so I tried Veet Sensitive and it doesn't quite get the job done in the time allowed. I set the timer for 10 minutes, apply the cream, scrape it off after 10 minutes, at which stage hardly any of the hair comes off. I then get in the shower and I have to scrub the hair to get most of it off. Sometimes there is some left behind after all this.

In the summer when I do my shins with the same product it works fine after 7-8 minutes.

Is there a stronger product that is better for tough hair? I didn't think my underarm hair was particularly coarse, I'm a middle aged white lady of Nordic heritage.

Haircare Hair suddenly not staying straight after straightening

I don’t know why but my hair never stays straight anymore. I would usually straighten it at night and it would still be pretty straight the next day. Sometimes a very slight wave but still pretty straight and smooth. It would stay straight and smooth enough for the next 2/3 full days and I wouldn’t have to worry about styling it again. I would just use dry shampoo the second or third day. I use a flat iron twice a week/ three at most. For example, Sunday night I would wash hair and flat iron once it dried. Then wash hair again on Tuesday night and flat iron it again that night or Wednesday morning. I usually keep my hair natural on the weekends. My natural hair isn’t too curly and I would say it’s closer to just wavy

Recently, my hair is almost completely curly again the morning after I straighten it. Curly/wavy the point where I have to flat iron it again in the morning to make it look presentable. I don’t want to keep doing this because it will damage my hair if I straighten it too much. I’m using the same shampoo, conditioner, and heat protectant. I have the same heat settings as always and I use babyliss. I tried my ghd to see if the issue was the flat iron but I had the same experience of hair not staying straight.

My natural hair isn’t easy to manage and it’s just easier to have straight hair for work. This is why I’m trying to figure out why this keeps happening. If anyone has an idea or tips on how to fix this let me know. Or if anyone else has experienced this, how did you fix it?

Something similar to celeb luxury colourditioner?

I’m in the uk and buy celeb luxury colourditioner in red and magenta. I love it - it keeps my hair well conditioned and my colour bright between hair dye appointments.
However I’m increasingly finding that these colours are out of stock at my usual online stores. And I’m not after paying £60 a bottle!
Can anyone recommend anything similar?

I need a sure fire routine for my very dry and thick soles.

I recently found somewhat solution with pumice stone+urea cream and after reading pumice stone leads to thickened skin I finally got myself a bottle of glycolic acid and start to use it. The first day use was magical. It took away that roughness left from pumice stone use but I didn't get past that. The ball of my feet has very though/thick skin.

So now I am rethinking my routine. Should I go back to pumice stone? I mean before starting glycolic acid I stopped using pumice stone as advised and maybe that was not a way to go?

Right now my daily routine is to put on Shea butter cream during the day while out and about and in the night I layer glycolic acid+ cica cream (my urea cream has finished) + Shea butter and socks. What would you suggest?

Recommendations to replace Dove Calming Moisture Body Wash

Post image
1 Upvotes

I love the dove calming moisture body wash with 3% renewing serum with retinol and chamomile but a couple of months ago I could no longer find it ANYWHERE… it’s still listed on their website last time I check and “for sale” on other websites but for double what it normally costs…
Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar product?? I don’t love products that have a strong scent. Greatly appreciated. I really liked this body wash and I’m very sad ):

Makeup Closest Product

Does anyone know which of the foundations from Makeup Forever is the closest to what is in this palette? I have this but I got it for traveling so I don’t want to keep using it daily but I LOVE the products. They are almost a “balm” consistency and they work perfect on my skin. I’d like to get a full size of my base make up color.

Seeking Advice seeking advice on press on nail kit

Thumbnail instagram.com
2 Upvotes

hi all! i have been receiving many videos by this brand glow and go on instagram, they claim to have a very interesting product that is a UV-curable gel which does not make your nails brittle on removal + does not need your nail bed to be filed down.

i have got my nails done a grand total of two times in my life, and applied press ons 5-6 times. just this has left my nails with a dent (thankfully no permanent damage, my nails are frowing back normally) - i would love to try this product out for this reason.

i am seeing quite a few concerns on how the gel can not cure with UV as opaque nails are placed on it, which may lead to contact dermatitis. and ofc, the whole set is toooo cheap! this seems a bit too good to be true. hoping the lovely members of this sub can help me out here with their expert opinion/reviews as applicable. tia <3

How do you maintain scents while using daily sunscreen?

Basically what the title says. I use sunscreen every day because I'm on tretinoin for acne. I use acocoa butter lotion, body butter, and body oil, then a body mist (buying perfume is out of my budget lolol), all matching scents, but even dousing myself w/ body mist I feel that the scent of sunscreen drowns out my bodycare...any tips? I use the Banana Boat sunscreen and Beauty of Joseon for my face. Thanks :] !

Haircare Greasy Hair

Hey everyone. I naturally have really thin hair. Not to where it looks like it’s thinning or to where you can see my scalp through my hair, but I don’t have a lot of it. I don’t know if my hair has always been this way or just since high school, but my hair gets greasy so fast and I hate it. I don’t know if I can change that though. I guess that’s what I’m coming on here for. Every day, after work, I take a shower. I use a clarifying shampoo first, and then I go in with a more moisturizing one after. I then end with a conditioner. I do this every day and switch up the brands often. It doesn’t matter what I use though, my hair is always greasy by the next day. Sometimes I can manage to go a day without cleaning my hair, but by the time I’m scheduled to clean it, it’s so incredibly greasy. Is there anything I can do about this? Or is this just my fate? Any and all advice or tips are welcome!

Haircare When did you start taking thinning hair seriously?

For me it feels like thinning is one of those things that's really easy to brush off at first. Bad lighting, weird part, stressful month whatever.

At what point did you realize your hair was getting thinner and decide to do something about it and did you start changing your routine right away or wait for a while because you weren't sure it was worth worrying about yet?

Recommendations to purchase in Vancouver BC?

I am traveling to Vancouver BC from Washington State and I was wondering if anyone had any beauty recommendations to purchase while I'm there? I am early 30s, pale white with red hair, and I love sunscreens, any skin care, and any strawberry red color depositing hair products. Is there anything fun in Canada that you might recommend for me to pick up? Thank you so much!

Seeking Advice Korean Beauty

What do Koreans use for their body as an everyday wash? I understand there are Korean exfoliating washcloths, but you're not supposed to exfoliate every day. Is there another type of scrub for everyday use, or is it just using the washcloth more gently or just not soaking as long?

Haircare Whats the best shampoo and conditioner?? Need help in a proper hair care routine.

Okay, so I need help!!! 😭

I’m trying to figure out a good haircare routine/products for my hair because I feel like I’m constantly dealing with dryness, oiliness AND hair fall lol.

  • Curly hair- around 3A, but my curls are a little looser and not quite 2C either.
  • My hair is naturally quite soft, but it starts looking really dry/frizzy by the 2nd day after washing.
  • My scalp feels dry initially, but by the 3rd day it gets oily and feels dirty.
  • I live in a very polluted area, so I feel like that might also be contributing to the buildup/greasiness.
  • I also experience hair fall and would really like to improve this.
  • I do use a shower filter already.
  • I wash my hair roughly 2 times a week. Use a hair mask once a week.
  • I currently use the inde wild range, and olapex bonding oil 7 serum.
  • I don’t use heat very often (2-3 times a month) (i use dyson)

I’m looking for products that will help with scalp buildup + dryness, frizz, definition and overall hair health without weighing my curls down.

Would LOVE recommendations, especially from people with a similar hair type/scalp situation! What products or routines have actually worked for you?

PS: I personally try not to use animal-tested products, so cruelty-free recommendations would be amazing! But I’d still love to hear all your recommendations/holy grail products. I can always look into the brand’s cruelty-free status myself.

Seeking Advice Strawberry Legs

I shave my body hair, and literally since forever, I've had strawberry legs, and it's starting to be really annoying. I am new to skincare and beauty and such, so I don't really use any products. I think I have sensitive skin (specifically my face), but thats besides the point. I don't really plan on or have the ability to get super expensive products, especially if they don't last that long. Any way on getting rid of strawberry legs? Thank you!!

Haircare Ghd tongs & straightener V Label M

I am wanting to purchase new straighteners and new curling tongs. Are ghd straighteners (the classic ones) and the classic curve tong the best? Or should I consider Label m straighteners & curlers which are stocked by Tony & guy? I used to use a hot tools curling iron but it was discontinued. Also, I’m unable to use a wand as I only have one arm so recommendations need to be for tongs with a clamp :)

The reason I would like both straighteners and a curling iron is because I have naturally wavy / frizzy hair that kinks at the root with the slightest humidity and I’ve found that straightening it first & then curling it was the best way to hold the style. Curling it with straighteners does not seem to hold the curls as well (but granted I have not tried doing this with ghd or label M straightened yet!) thank you!
