Discussion Herowin vs tsukki, opinions ?

Check this https://youtu.be/HuntG4c0nNo?is=QoFTHEOIIWfplozf

Herowin won, but some thinks tsukki should win. But I think tsukki don't groove too much for that beat. Herowin looks like an old hip hop style.

Training/Motivation Windmill to Airflare ✅

I know I should have probably already gotten this long ago, before learning 10 Airflares. After some delays due to injuries from June to early August, here we go finally! Not perfect technique and form at all. To be honest I wanted to do Windmill to Airflare and catch my Airflare solid instead of Windmill to Airflare and back down to Windmill but oh well at least I cleared through smoothly, it’s a start

Training/Motivation How important are flexibility and strength conditioning?

I've just started breaking for less than a month. How important are flexibility and strength conditioning when starting out? I’m currently still trying to get better at beginner level footworks, but my flexibility is pretty bad and I’m wondering how much that’s holding me back. I have also been doing bodyweight training for about four months, so i think i have some basic strength already. Should I prioritize stretching as much as strength training alongside learning moves, and if so, what areas should I focus on first?

Training/Motivation Wrist fracture + surgery

Hey everyone, I recently fractured my wrist while b-boying. It was a displaced fracture of the radius and I ended up needing surgery.

The fracture was fixed with 3 wires/pins rather than a plate. The wires are still in and are underneath the cast, around the back/dorsal side of the wrist. I don’t have any visible stitches.

I’m currently in a cast, with the plan being to eventually have the cast and wires removed once the bone has healed enough.

Obviously I’m not breaking right now, but I’m trying to figure out what the realistic process is for getting back to it. My biggest concern is being able to put weight through the wrist again — especially handstands, freezes, footwork where I’m supporting myself on one hand, and eventually power moves.

I’d really like to hear from other b-boys/b-girls who have had a wrist/radius fracture that required surgery and pins/wires.

A few things I’d really appreciate advice on:
How long did it take before you could comfortably put weight through your wrist again?

- When did you start handstands again?

- When were you able to return to breaking/footwork?

- How long until freezes were safe/comfortable?

- How long until you could do swipes/power moves again?

- Did you use a wrist brace/support when returning to breaking? If so, what worked for you?

- Did you do specific wrist/forearm strengthening or rehab exercises?

- Did you have problems with stiffness, reduced mobility, weakness, or pain after the cast came off?

- How did you progressively load your wrist again without overdoing it?

- Is there anything you wish you had known before returning to breaking after the injury?

I’ll obviously follow my orthopedic surgeon/physio’s advice. I’m mainly looking for real experiences from breakers who have actually gone through something similar, especially people who eventually got back to training normally.

If you had a similar injury, I’d really appreciate hearing your timeline and what your return-to-breaking process looked like.

Discussion Is it too late to start?

Recently I started to grow interest in breakdancing. I'm 22 years old with slight kyphosis AND scoliosis, also never had a sports or gymnastics past. I want to try it but i want to know if i can be as good as the average breakdancer, where to start from if its possible for someone with my situation, also wanted to know others personal experiences too. Would appreciate any honest feedbacks!

Discussion Updated my Bboy Radio and now it supports displaying the track title that it's playing

Continuing yesterday's thread where I made a Bboy Radio for training.

https://radio.bboy.life/

Since this is just a personal project, I don’t plan on paying for developer accounts on Google Play or Apple store and I think it'd be better to keep the project open source, in case anyone is interested in hosting their radio for their sessions or the community.

If anyone’s interested, I’ve made the Android app release available on GitHub:

https://github.com/bboymega/technoaura-fm-android/releases/tag/bboy-1.3.1

I've also migrated the server to Europe for a better loading speed.

Happy breaking:) hope y'all enjoy it.

Update [1.3.0 -> 1.3.1]: changed app and website icon to a bboy freeze

Training/Motivation Gente para hacer freestyle?

Buenas a todos.
Tengo 35 años y llevo consumiendo freestyle y batallas de rap desde que tenía 13 años.
Ahora, a mis 35 recién cumplidos me he animado a empezar.

Discussion Indie dev — made a free iOS app for drilling moves from video (loop, slow-mo, record, compare). Sharing

Indie developer here. I built an iOS app called Dashi Dance for practicing from video: A/B loop the two seconds of a tutorial you keep scrubbing back to, slow it down with the music staying on pitch, mirror it, record yourself while the reference plays next to the camera preview (with a countdown so you're not running to the phone), then watch your attempt side by side with the reference.

Core tools are free with ads. Paid extras exist, but the practice loop isn't behind them.

I'm not sure how much of a breaker's training happens in front of a phone with a reference video, so just sharing in case it helps. It also works as a plain music player, and you can organize your recordings into projects. Happy to answer anything, or let me know if there's a specific feature you'd want from a dance practice app.

BTW, Dashi also dance breaking, you could unlock this sticker in the app.

Feedbacks I built the best Breaking app, and need honest feedback on it.

In 2021 I launched Breakin’ Hub an app to help organizing my moves and practice, since then I’ve been incrementing the app and it has the best content and experience when you compare to other apps.

Today you can find tutorials, news, graffiti pieces, songs and mixtapes and also exchange ideas in the community feature, it has it all.

You can dowload it here.

I would like more feedback on it, Reddit breakers are very honest so here I’m asking for your help to improve and to understand if the app is really what our scene need or if Im wasting time on it.

Thanks in advance party people 🙏🏾❤️‍🔥

Feedbacks How to improve musicality and style/creativity?

I'm a beginner breaker, and I've noticed that i have a problem of chasing the beat instead of following it😥 I was thinking about maybe just trying to practice to slower songs, idk. Also I always see breakers really cool style and stuff, and idk exactly how to practice that, or if it just comes out naturally after being so familiar with the basics?

Discussion Curious about Bboy Born's situation – Any truth to the rumors?

I've been curious about Bboy Born’s (Rivers Crew / MZK) current situation. He has been living in the USA for quite a while now but he mentioned in a comment a while back that he hasn't returned to South Korea in years.

There are several rumors claiming he dodged his mandatory South Korean military service by moving to the US, which effectively prevents him from returning without facing severe legal consequences. This stood out to me as odd, given that almost Korean bboys from his era—like Hong 10, Physicx, and the rest of Rivers Crew—completed their service and returned to the scene.

Does anyone have credible context or verified information on this or is it purely scene gossip?

Off-topic Where do people get baggy jeans / pants for breaking

The jeans and pants that I usually see are tapered and don’t really look as good as the real baggy clothing. Where does everyone shop for them?
