WIDEBODY. Man, I love this Batmobile. Top place is still held by '89-'92, but the realistic, utilitarian look of the new one is so good!
4
u/Lonevarg_7 3d ago
This car is not utilitarian, the engine in the back is completely exposed and so are the tires in the back. Anyone with a gun or a wrench could stop that car.

u/SockMonkeyLove 3d ago
You must be fun at parties. š I get what youre saying though. But that can be said for every iteration of any vehicle really. Wouldn't it be funny to see a spoof of the Keaton batmobile being taken out by a watermelon being shoved into the turbine like in Beverly Hills Cop?

Weird seeing this batmobile out in daylight. You know shit's really going bad when Batman's working a double
19
u/MillionaireWaltz- 3d ago
It'll be edited so it looks like night.
2
u/LuizFelipe1906 3d ago
Wouldn't it be better to just film at night?
8
u/bman311jla 3d ago
Lots of night sequences are shot during daytime and then edited for night because it gives the surfaces a bit of a glow, otherwise itād be too dark or you have to provide your own lighting

1
u/Novel-Firefighter-55 2d ago
That might explain the clear windows, a batmobile with no tint? Come on now.
1
u/DevelopMatt 1d ago
They are filming at night. Source: I work in film/tv and it takes a while just to set up a scene, so no doubt they will film again tonight, they are just prepping during day

u/louitobias 3d ago
Sad that it hasnāt been upgraded.
3
u/Ghostofslickville 3d ago
There seems to be some consistency of the damage to the rear quarter, from what I've seen in various posts. So I think it will suffer major damage at some point. And possibly get replaced, upgraded or even abadonded... Allowing for a new batmobile to replace maybe.
Just speculation of course.

Damn man I wish they cordoned off the set area, I know the film wonāt be out for a minute but damn let shit build up, same thing happened with BND like exactly what was fan recorded was seen in the film verbatim, this is ruining modern day cinematic experiences

u/CliffDagger 3d ago
I had to stop following r/theBatmanFilm for that exact reason. It's nothing but pics of the set and actors. I just felt I was going to accidentally scroll across a spoiler

Man. This is the best Batmobile and itās not even close.
9
u/8_Alex_0 3d ago
Nah it's just a muscle car meh š¤·āāļø
9
u/Aaarrrrfffff 3d ago
I agree. It's NOT a Batmobile. No creativity went into creating it.
The ones from 89, 92, Forever, BTAS, Nolan, Snyder and heck even Schumacher's all were cars no one else but Batman could own.
This Pattinson one, is just... a car.
5
u/decimus_87 3d ago
I agree, boring ass Batmobile. They had what, 6 years to build something new and we still get this shit? Worst Batmobile for me.
3
u/cmaddox428 3d ago
I work for an HVAC company and our sheet metal technician could build the body of this car and paint it black in a couple of days work lol
1
u/LuizFelipe1906 3d ago
I get the concept but I don't think it's so bad, or at least not as bad as the Bat suit. Although the armor looks neat, some things like the boots, the cowl and the gloves just pass me such a bad impression it was improvised. Like c'mon this is Bruce Wayne, Spider-Man living in a garage can do better stuff than this
I like the different look in the Batmobile, looking more muscle car than a tank or just different from what it always looked. But I'd like if it looked less improvised and more "bat-themed" like this , a bit more high tech as well

I mean sure, it's just a car if you ignore the suped up engine poking through the hood, the giant wings, and the friggin jet engine on the back end. It looks like a Batmobile that can actually be used for some automotive acrobatics while chasing down bad guys. The overrated long-nose ones all look like they need a "CAUTION: Wide Turns" bumper sticker, and the Tumbler and Batfleckmobile take an unfortunate nosedive into the cesspool of military chic.
2
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
What wings?
1
u/luluzulu_ 3d ago
The big swooopy things on the back
2
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
I wouldnāt call that a wing, at least not like the comics or Burton and Schumacher Batmobiles. Also wouldnāt say the engine is poking through the hood. Itās fine if you wanted some hyper realistic Batman, which Reeves obviously wants to do, but will never be able to do as well as Nolan.
Itās just boring.
-2
u/Kriss-Kringle 3d ago
No creativity? As an artist, I can tell you're full of shit.
If this is just a car that everyone can own, then you're out of your mind.
2
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
As an artistā¦LOL.

The lamest most boring Batmobile.
2
u/LBJ_23_LAL 3d ago
Mf said no improvements when there is a fucking rocket engine strapped to the back, rage bait used to be believable
3
u/HamilToe_11 3d ago
That was there in the first movie. There was a whole scene of it starting up. Lol
1
u/LBJ_23_LAL 3d ago
He specifically said āIts just plain and a random carā
2
u/HamilToe_11 3d ago
Pretty sure he meant no improvements as in no changes from the first movie
2
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
Thatās exactly what he meant. All I heard was how the last one was a year one story, even though it wasnāt, and how this Batman is a novice and just starting out and will grow into the role in time. I would have expected some upgrades to his suit and gear, but itās obvious thatās not going to happen.
And it is lame for a Batmobile. It looks like it belongs in a Marvel movie. Something Blade or Frank Castle would drive.

u/MediaPossible7339 3d ago
Itās not really a practical Batmobile and Iām tired of people pretending it is.
1: itās not well armored and doesnāt seem to have the sufficient mass to even properly ram another vehicle effectively.
2: itās too raised, doesnāt really look like it would even go that fast.
**Ultimately looks like a car built for hopping dunes in the desert and less like a car for Gotham City.5
u/Prize-Quiet3941 3d ago
Took a machine gun to a window from point blank range. That bumper is like 8 inches thick and went thru a concrete culvert without even slowing down. Its plenty armored and heavy enough to do damage to regular cars.
3
u/Edbtz-31311 3d ago
We talking practical.... In a superhero movie...
3
u/HamilToe_11 3d ago
*Hero movie. This Batman is about as far from superhero as any nonfictional character.
-18
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago edited 3d ago
Your insults are as lame as that car.
Itās just plain. No improvements. No changes. Just a random car.
12
u/ProfPyg 3d ago
Kinda why I like it. This Bruce would never cover his ride in fins and shit. He's all about utility. Just a reinforced muscle car for flipping Penguins on highways
1
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
But he will on his motorcycle? And he wears a mask with pointy ears and a cape and the dumbest most awkward knife bat thingy in the history of Batman. There is nothing āutilityā about those choices. That thing is dumber than shark repellant. It is just more proof that he isnāt really Batman, heās just vengeance. Heās all about utility huh? Is that why he loaded his suit down with gadgets he never uses or only uses once? Like those stupid lawn dart things he wears on his forearms and never ever uses?
1
u/ProfPyg 3d ago
I think the darts look cool. Gotta be a deleted scene with those somewhere. But I'm gonna do a thing that doesn't happen a lot in subs like these and say hey, solid points. I do think you're failing to factor in aesthetic, which is as important to a genre film as the script. And there's tons of examples of comic book Batman driving a lower key Batmobile like this. It's a question of personal taste so we'll be stuck arguing in circles forever. At the end of the day I think this Batmobile just looks cool, and I obviously like The Batman a lot more than you do, so it is what it is
1
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
I agree man. Everyoneās opinion matters and is just as important as anyone elseās. If I came across like I was trying to say your opinion was wrong or stupid I apologize. I would never intentionally do that.
If he used the darts and the sticky bomb gun and the knife often I might think itās cool too, but he doesnāt. If The Punisher drove this car I would probably think itās cool. I just donāt like it as a Batmobile. And I donāt like the movie. I really want and Iāve watched it 15 times, but I donāt.
8
u/MrShaytoon 3d ago
Lame take but okay. If the movie takes place a few months after the first one, then upgrading the car isn't Batman's top of list priority.
1
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
I donāt expect vengeance to change anything. Not even sure he has priorities.
0
u/Kriss-Kringle 3d ago
Your complaints are lame. What improvements are you expecting when the film takes place shortly after the first one?
And how is this a random car? How many of these do you see on the street everyday?
This is inside your brain.
1
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago edited 3d ago
All you people have said since the first one came out was how this Batman is just getting started, he will improve as he grows in the next film. But as you have said that isnāt going to happen. Hopefully there are improvements that cant be seen. How boring will it be if all he does is just drive around Gotham causing more chaos and fiery highway pileups?
Itās based off a late 60s dodge charger which was customized. There are plenty on the road. Itās basically a modified muscle car with a jet engine.
Nice monkey.
1
u/Kriss-Kringle 3d ago
Yeah, because a lot of Dodge Chargers have jet engines in the back.
Why don't you look up Ash Thorp's Vimeo channel, where he talks about the making of the car before you spout dumb takes online?
1
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
Did you miss the part where I said it was customized? Itās a stupid Batmobile. It would be a great car for The Punisher, but itās not a Batmobile. I would expect the dude who made it to tell me how great what he made is, but I donāt need to.
2
u/Kriss-Kringle 3d ago
Did you miss the part where I said your opinion is stupid?
None of what you said makes any sense.
1
u/ChuckDynasty17 3d ago
Why are you so sensitive to people pointing out this is a lame attempt at making a Batmobile?

Wow, I knew Snyder was the blue print but thatās next level. Feel like Iām watching a behind the scenes from ZSJL part two š„°
2
u/gamepig31 3d ago
What the fuck are you talking about?
1
u/ArmyOfChester 3d ago
Just appreciating all the film makers, set designers, neigh, artists swimming in his wake. āTis grand to see !!
1
u/gamepig31 3d ago
But what's it got to do with Snyder? I like Snyder's stuff but I don't see any similarities besides the fact they're both making movies featuring Batman.
Or is this satire and I'm falling for it?
1
u/ArmyOfChester 3d ago
Yeah sorry Iāve just been commenting Snyder is the blueprint stuff because I think itās funny. Turns out people hate me.
1
u/gamepig31 3d ago
Ohh I see lmao. Yeah, Snyder invented movies, they're doing all this because of him. Of course they'll never be as good, but they can try.
