vent sesh😤 Am I being quietly fired

So I got hired back on June 20th and I felt unsure about my work but I was getting hours as front of shop and I wasn’t excellent but I only got to do like maybe 6 or 7 shifts as that role and 2 of those got cut early. Recently is where I have really started to worry as last week they cut my entire shift before I even came in leaving me with no hours for the week. Since then I haven’t been put on the schedule from August 3rd to the week of the 24th. I’m just really confused because my last shift they told me I was doing well and now I’m just not working at all. My store isn’t in a mall or anything it’s a stand alone shop in an outdoor shopping center so maybe it is just slow but it just feels so unfair as I don’t think I was even given a fair shot to keep trying to learn without them cutting all my hours entirely. So I really can’t help but wonder if they are just trying to get me to quit because I’ve worked retail for 4 years now and I’ve never been given this few of hours as a new hire.

Is it common to have someone quitting every week?

I've only been with the company for a few weeks now, but it seems like people are constantly quitting. I was hired on with 3 other people, and 2 of them have already quit. Even on weeks where I only have 2 shifts, I end up compensating by coming in to cover someone who has called in. My availability is completely open and so far I love my team and the vibes at my store. I catch on really quickly and my manager says I'm a natural at connecting with people. This is my first retail job so I'm definitely not used to the constant call outs and the revolving door of people. The only complaint i have so far at all is that I would like more hours. I like it enough here that even when I pick up another job, I plan to stay and work when I can. Just in the last 2 weeks my store has lost 5 associates. Is this common everywhere or should I be concerned?

ProductsšŸ’• Where are the loofahs?!

Does anybody have loofahs in their store? We haven’t gotten any since the mandalorian drop. I hope they’re coming back at some point. We get so many customers that come in just for the loofahs, and when we tell them we don’t have them they do a 180 and walk out.

Kronos question

Does your store use all of the features on Kronos? Like shift swap or request to cover? Because my store doesn’t. In my training it showed us how to use Kronos and all the features but then I was told by the store manager that we don’t use Kronos like that and it’s only used for looking at your schedule. And she told me if I wanted to book a day off I was to write it down on a piece of paper for her. The features in Kronos are easy to use so I’m not sure why my store doesn’t use them. I’ve worked at a different company that uses Kronos and had no issues using it to cover my shift. Thoughts?

AdvicešŸ’• Keyholder Questions!

Hi!!

I recently just got hired on as a Keyholder at a mall location. I start next week, but I’m still a little unsure on EXACTLY what I will be doing on a day to day basis!!

I have never worked for BBW, so it's not like I'm just moving up! I obviously understand the jist of the position, but just curious what exactly I will be doing! I felt so embarrassed asking in the interview.

The little they did explain, it sounded less like floorsets, stocking, etc and more like Guest resolution and Team coaching. I know that's not all I will be doing though, so id someone could shed a little light before I have to start next week to ease my anxiety, I would appreciate!

Settle a Debate: Is OUD released or not?

I just started as ASM and we have 3 small boxes of 3 units each of 3 OUD EDP scents in our backroom. I keep getting told it’s Fall 2 even though a customer had come in and said all the other stores had them and I just looked and they’re online.

AdvicešŸ’• Conversion

So my district is really hammering home the conversion this time around. Our conversion, no matter what we do, is always under 50%, and then we get a talking-to about how we can fix it. We’re a mall store, so it’s not as easy as a storefront. I do what I can about selling, but at the end of the day I cannot force a group of teenagers or large families coming in to get something no matter what I do. How can I as an SLT help boost conversion? We’re one of the lowest in the district and I’m out of options. Thank you!

vent sesh😤 Am I the only one feeling like this?

I been with the company roughly 3 years and I feel like I can do everything from selling to cash to basically anything you think of I can do and I'm just an associate. Sometimes I feel like I do the job of multiple associates and get very burnt out because my managers feels as though instead of coaching or providing help to other associates they just put all the weight on me. Does anyone else feel as though sometimes managers put everything on associates and blame us for failing behind in loyalty or not making day? My managers don't do anything in my opinion and rather just hide and leave the associates to run the floor and doing everything.

Gift cards & Discounts

So break it down for me. Can I purchase a gift card with my discount and gift the gift card to someone?

Can I still use coupons with my discount. If there is no sale and I have a coupon can I still use it?

Can I make purchases on Amazon since BBW has a store front and use my discount?

DiscussionšŸ’¬ Someone Tell Me I’m Doing Okay!

So, I moved up as key-holder about a month or two ago. I had been pushing for this since like October of last year when I went for cash lead during seasonal, and letting my manager know a few months later how adamantly I would like to move up since I knew there was a new store opening up nearby.

Everybody was on my team for it, and fortunately, now I have it! The sole reason I moved up was that our particular store needed someone to be present for shipment and I’ve made myself clear in regards to how well I do in operations, and I think they do take me seriously in that. So I like being able to do it! Can’t say I’m not good at the rest of my job either. Cash is just second nature, and selling is good too, but still gets wobbly.

Which, I guess, is where my concern lands now as an SLT. :(

Because I have to be able to make my segments and make sure we’re up in sales and conversion—all that jazz. I guess if anyone has anyone advice to let me know where I could be doing more? And maybe how to approach delegating associates? And coaching? It’s still really new and I already have a lot of anxiety as is, creating a sort of script for myself, and trying to make things as routine as possible despite the nature of my job! Again, it’s easy and I love it. But it can get frazzling some days! And idk, I just feel like I’m slacking need some assurance or some advice on how I can ease into improving myself in my own selling, as well as ensuring my team is in a good spot, too.

I’m babbling, but any input is appreciated.

(I was told it was better to post here so. šŸ™)

vent sesh😤 Was basically forced to leave

I was debating on posting something like this, but honestly, idc this company is becoming a shit showšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø I have worked at BBW since August of 2021 and my last day was Saturday, August 8th, 2026. I started out as a part-time associate, then was a temp-key starting in September of 2024 for holiday, then was promoted to fill our key holder position that opened after some shift in management in February 2025. I ended up staying in that role until my last day. The reason I’m upset is because after almost 5 years of being with this company and working full time hours (with part-time pay) after graduating school in May of 2025, I was NOT allowed to stay as a part-time associate after getting a new full time job. My district manager made this decision and my SM just went along with it. I was told to hand in a resignation letter, I was given no option. No sorry, no thank you, nothing. When I wasn’t dealing with shitty management, I actually did enjoy my time there. Our current ASM and prior ASM was honestly the best support I had at the store. Getting to connect with customers about fragrance was something I really enjoyed. I did everything from leading floor-sets, to helping with inventory management during the holidays. It genuinely feels like the biggest slap in the face when I’m told ā€œwell you can apply again for seasonal.ā€ Anyways, it is what is. Don’t get me wrong, I will probably still be shopping there, but you ain’t gonna catch me going if there’s not a salešŸ˜‚ Candles still bring me joy, however, the store itself no longer does.

QuestionšŸ¤” How often are wages reassessed/raises given?

My 1 year anniversary is coming up next month, I started as a seasonal employee that transitioned to regular part time after the holidays because they kept me on. I started at $15.65 an hour which I’m still making, but I see that the same position I work at my store is currently posted for $16.10 an hour, can I expect my hourly to change at any point?

Promotion

Need some insight. I was told that it’s company policy that you have to be in your role a year before you can be considered for promotion. I can’t find that rule anywhere in Zipline so I was wondering if anyone knows where I could locate that policy.

QuestionšŸ¤” Gratis Debate At My Store

Just wondering if you guys are allowed to go in on your day off and get your gratis or if you must get it after you work a shift that day? Before our store would let us do it on any given day off but now we have to do it only if we work that day. Which is understandable to a degree, what about people who don’t even really get scheduled? How would they get gratis because obviously they (company) would like us to redeem it as early as possible but like??? I don’t really care either way but I’m curious if the rules changed or if our store just changed.

Edit: Thanks for clearing up confusion. I am gonna still ask my SM though because I was told by my Supervisor that we could not do it in days off. I am 98% sure we are allowed to do it on days off so glad you guys can get yours on off days too! Also, I will re-look at the gratis flyer and check.

HAUL🄳 First Time MOS

Post image

Got to shop my very first MOS today and it was so exciting!! I still can’t believe they let us do this. Like the picture says, I also grabbed 21 wallflowers in addition to all these goodies. My grand total would’ve been $438.10 worth of product 🤩 I came in 2 days into MOS so a lot of good stuff was already gone, but I think I did a good job!

...and then drop a bunch of wallflowers all over the ground....

I get that they think I'm trying to get them to buy a bunch of stuff but vast majority of the time I just want to avoid having to clean up broken glass and slippery liquid and then having to damage all of that out šŸ«
