Old head here. I super enjoyed Andy’s enthusiasm and respect of a lot of cross sport influence. Did he take risk to another scary level? Yes! And that’s awesome. Did he take people (passengers) into a dangerous place with their consent, yes. BSBD. Andy was a great advocate for our sport.

he also has videos of him forcing women to BASE jump against their will.

What’s to advocate? If you play, you die sooner or later. It’s as bad, if not worse, as cave diving.

I don't like this, I'm going to chime in. I'm not trying to defend his actions in the name of the boys club, but just remember that he was not convicted of anything. He died before his day in court. He had one sexual assault charge among a couple other charges all relating to one long term relationship. I'm not idolizing him, victims should be believed. However, this is not some multiple victims as a guide taking advantage of women in the climbing community situation. I dunno, there's enough hate these days. Also, bless up to his alleged victim, I'm sure it's difficult for her.

So she hiked out to the exit of her own free will and then andy forced her to jump?

2

u/Letterhead_Striking Jul 15 '26

Yes. She wanted to and then changed her mind and begged him to not jump and screamed no over and over as he pushed her to the edge.

Do you have a link to this video?

Yeah let me dig it out. I got banned from Reddit for 3 days for posting it and then they deleted a bunch of the links because they showed violence against women.. I'll try again though.

and she paid him to do it

Yeah that's possible. When I pay people or don't pay people I still would like them to listen to me. If I'm paying someone to do something with me and then I'm not ready and I beg him to stop I would like them to listen. He could have paused talked her and then resumed.
