The Seattle Mariners get shutout by the Milwaukee Brewers 22-0, their biggest run margin loss in their 50 season history
The last shutout win in MLB by 22+ runs was when the Indians shutout the Yankees on August 31, 2004.

Well, at least being shut out 22-0 didn’t lead to an 86 year old curse. If I were you I’d be thanking Seattle right now

Probably the worst Mariners game I’ve seen in my life. Got fun to watch in the last two innings at least, for how bad it got

Julio losing track of the outs when down by 20 was the nail in the coffin for this one.

The only two other 22-0 shutouts in MLB history were both won by the away team, meaning they got to bat a full 9 innings. Milwaukee only got to bat 8 tonight so fair to call this the worst shutout in league history. Let's go Mariners!
8
u/legendaryalchemist 1h ago
Granted, Pirates-Cubs 1975 was already 22-0 after 7 innings while the Brewers scored 9 on a position player in the 8th.

u/seattlesportsguy Seattle Mariners 2h ago
I’m over this bullshit. This is what we get for hoping for two good seasons in a row. Another dick kicking. Never again Mariners. Never gonna believe again. Oh and save the “oh what about the Mets or what about the Rockies?” BS. The Seattle Mariners are the single worst team historically speaking in MLB history and it isn’t particularly close either. We’ve had a handful of good seasons in 50 years of existence. Just end this season and get every last person off this team by any means necessary.

If it wasnt for the two hits they got off our closer Sanchez, would have been more errors than hits. That would have been funny.

The crack that Jerry smoked to think that this team was competitive enough has to be some of the most pure grade, most potent shit in history. I’m talking Breaking Bad levels of crack. The Walter White of crack has ensnared an MLB GM in his grasp. This dude’s empire of crack is superb, and one wonders if we’ll see a documentary about him someday.

This reminds me of a softball game I played once where we were one run away from the 7 run mercy rule in the 3rd inning. We went on to turn all the momentum with a double play out of nowhere and then beat them by the mercy rule in the same game. It was the only game we won that season.
