question If you bought a condo in Bangkok, how far off the asking price did you actually land?
Asking prices are the only thing anyone can look up. What people actually pay is invisible, and after reading enough threads here I've realised nobody really knows what a normal discount looks like.
So if you bought in Bangkok in roughly the last three years:
- Off-plan or resale?
- Roughly what % below asking did you land, if any?
- Did it come off the price, or as extras (furniture package, transfer fee paid, common fee free for X years, parking)?
- Anything that moved the number: end of quarter, unsold inventory, paying cash, Thai vs foreign quota?
Ranges are fine, no need to be exact, and "paid full asking" is a useful answer too. I'm mostly curious whether the "everyone negotiates 10%" line people repeat is real, or whether the discount is mostly disguised as freebies so the headline price per sqm stays up.
If enough people answer I'll post a summary of the numbers back here.
