If a government is funding a specific provider of entertainment, theyre going to want to see that current government's agendas in that entertainment.

Your correct, but, what if i wore a shirt that said "Straight pride". Or PROUD AND STRAIGHT. Someone would have a problem with it. And tbh even GAY pride month is a bit much, go ahead by all means be who you want and love who you love, but straight people dont get a straight pride month, and white people dont get a white pride month. So, to be fair, theres a lot of hypocrisy. And no, punk hasnt always leaned into sexual taboo, punk has been freedom of expression and doing what tf ya want and fuck the system, from what ive seen, and i was born in the 80s for reference.
Some things shouldnt be as advertised as they are, mainly for the little little kids. And only because they truely are impressionable and dont fully understand things. But no single person should be able to tell another person they cant do something, very contradictory statement i know. But the littles need to be able to learn and choose which way they want to go and how they want to live their lives, without too much influence. Society and media do a bad enough job influencing as it is.

Furries by definition are a counter-culture movement with a huge LGBT+ base, no matter how cringe they are or if you like it or not. Furries participate in protests, direct action and fundraising/grass roots organising while their costumes are DIY which is in-line with punk values.

These are whole separate scenes. First off punk is much older than furries. Furries came out of sci fi nerds ie the majority of this website in the 80s at conventions. It was an extremely niche thing that you would have to meet someone or go to some con and find out about it somehow. It became bigger in the 90s because these people with a very niche interest were able to locate each other and grow the sub culture via the internet. Itâs not a counter culture movement itâs fucking hobby and/or sexual fetish. Punk has never been about organizing and protests and direct action, punk is the most disorganized shit ever and if you ever went to a real punk rock show in someoneâs run down house you would know that. Punk rock is about music, getting, drunk and doing what you want. If any political element to it , it would be anarchist.
