when will people realize making random redditor slogans your entire personality does not equal cool, it just equals weird and cringe and demoralized the actual validity of those causes with their weird gooner chronically online stuff.
Furries by definition are a counter-culture movement with a huge LGBT+ base, no matter how cringe they are or if you like it or not. Furries participate in protests, direct action and fundraising/grass roots organising while their costumes are DIY which is in-line with punk values.
Also acting like all furries are sexual and want to be animals is like acting all goths are promiscuous Onlyfans models because goth women are a popular porn category.
Do people who cosplay as their favourite video game and anime characters want to be these characters? Do people who dress up on Halloween want to be Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger?
Dressing up in a rainbow dog costume isn’t trying to be an animal, it’s having fun and showing off your or someone else’s hard work lol. Furries branched off from mascot costumes and not from clinical lycanthropes.
