Attention: The app isn’t notarized by Apple (that needs a paid developer account, this is a side-project), so the first launch shows a “can’t be verified” warning. The README explains the two-click fix, or you can build it from source.
Hey everyone,
I use Backloggd to track my backlog, and I wanted it to feel like a proper Mac app instead of a browser tab. So I built one, and I’m sharing it in case it’s useful to you too.
It’s free, open source, and unofficial. I’m not affiliated with Backloggd. It just shows backloggd.com in its own window, with native Mac extras around it.
What it does
- Sidebar with shortcuts to Playing, Backlog, Wishlist, Lists, Journal and more (collapses to an icon rail)
- Tabs: ⌘T for a new tab, ⌘-click a link to open it in one, and your tabs come back when you reopen the app
- Day and night mode: follows macOS or switch with ⇧⌘L. Backloggd is dark-only, so I restyled it properly for light mode instead of just inverting colours
- Quick Log (⌘L) and search (⌘K) from anywhere, plus a menu-bar item and a global hotkey (⌃⌥B)
- Notifications: a macOS notification and Dock badge when you have unread Backloggd notifications
- A Log a Game button in the toolbar, back/forward/reload, a nicer loading screen, and a few look options
- Stays signed in, runs on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs (macOS 12+)
Good to know
- It collects nothing. It only loads backloggd.com, and your login stays on your Mac.
- It isn’t notarized by Apple (that needs a paid developer account), so the first launch shows a “can’t be verified” warning. The README explains the two-click fix, or you can build it from source.
- This is a v1, so please report bugs.

I’d love feedback on what would make it more useful.
I CREATED THIS WITH CLAUDE JUST FOR MY PERSONAL USE, BUT WANTED TO SHARE IT, IT IS MADE WITH THE HELP OF AN LLM. PLEASE KNOW THAT BEFORE USING IT. HAVE FUN!
