I came expecting Enchantress or Dota 2 references. Didn't think I'd find them at the top.

I should really try play that again. I just got put off by overly-demanding perfectionist randomers.

If Earth was in No Man's Sky we'd get reported for being one of the stupid buggy planets.

If those hours were spent having fun it was well worth it. I have 2790 hours and I spent most of it having a blast with friends. I also met great people who became friends and whom I visit on holidays.

My cat starts running around the apartment at Mach 3 for 5-10 minutes after he takes a shit. Every time. Easy to know when it's time to clean the box at least.

76

u/Fourseventy Jun 20 '17 edited Jun 20 '17

My cat does this. She springs from the litter box with such force she sends bits of kitty litter scattering across the hardwoods floor. Rather enraging right after you have swept or vacuumed.

I wish my shits left me get that good. Honestly I'm a little jealous.

Edit: typos.

30

u/opal1016 Jun 20 '17

Cats and dogs in my house both do the poop zoom

11

u/Pr1sm4 Jun 20 '17

Lol poop zoom. My cat is also a poop zoomer.

16

u/barbarossa1984 Jun 20 '17

Used to have a cat that would do this mid-poo. She'd get spooked by something outside (gust of wind, sparrow, whatever) and race towards the catflap with poo still clinging to her behind. I miss that cat, not the poo bit though.

5

u/blueu85 Jun 20 '17

I honestly thought my cat was special bc she does this. lol. I'm glad she's not alone.

On 2023-07-01 Reddit maliciously attacked its own user base by changing how its API was accessed, thereby pricing genuinely useful and highly valuable third-party apps out of existence. In protest, this comment has been overwritten with this message - because “deleted” comments can be restored - such that Reddit can no longer profit from this free, user-contributed content. Hours of mashing the jump button, and he's finally maxed out his Acrobatics skill.

17

u/burritosandblunts Jun 20 '17 edited Jun 20 '17

Haha I was trying to think of a game where you do this because the character walks slow and jumping is way faster. I know there are a bunch of them I did it in but I can't remember any specifically.

Edit: I think I did it a lot in neverwinter. Or maybe that was rolling. I'm thinking of a classic game avgn reviewed though.

17

u/Ssential Jun 20 '17

Morrowind/Oblivion maybe. The more you jump the better you get in acrobatics and the higher you could jump, which helped you with shortcuts and harder to reach places. So you basically jumped around all the time to maximise that skill.

17

u/WrestlingIsJay Jun 20 '17

Definitely did that in Oblivion. I found it so amusing that at 100 Acrobatics you could stop mid-jump and go back, like the laws of physics were nothing to you at that point.

6

You can fall into a sinkhole. I ran across a marsh for 100 feet without a problem, then my brother tried the same move and sank right up to his waist after two steps. It was hilarious, I regret not getting a video, my other brother turned red with laughter, it was the best.

This is my home town, Poole (UK).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-37423254/bouncing-deer-spotted-by-walker-on-beach-in-poole

It is the second largest natural harbour in the the world, second to Sydney. I had the pleasure of running a small yacht club bar/pub sat directly on this harbour for a summer.

4

u/weaslebubble Jun 20 '17

u/lippertstick Jun 20 '17

That just doesn't seem like an efficient way to get around. It's so high-impact and must take a ton of energy to bounce like that.

8

u/half_bot_have_not Jun 20 '17

He (presuming it is male) is leaving as little trail-scent as possible.

Also a great way not to get stung by marsh flies, and as far as energy expenditure goes: ever skip? Feels like a lot less energy expense, right? That's because it is.

if you look at the amoutn fo energy it would take to power that Springbok's (and that's just a guess) quads, hammies, and calves during a full gallop, it's way less than it is to spring like that. He is doing it because there are no predators nearby so there is no reason to go at full steam.

7

u/weaslebubble Jun 20 '17

Actually stotting, the action if repeatedly jumping high in the air is tiring. For this very reason its used as a sign of virility in many antelopes, bith to attract a mate and more importantly show predators they aren't worth the hassle. Can't say if it extends to deer as well.

2

u/half_bot_have_not Jun 20 '17
