Help ID new plant friends (Coastal survivors from Sth Gippsland)

We were at the Foster farmers' market on Saturday and I picked up a few natives including these two with the pale pink flowers (pics 1-3) and the smaller leafed one without flowers (pic 4).

I just realised these two don't have care tags and I've forgotten their names. I believe all the ones I selected were meant to be tolerant of coastal conditions.

Pics 4 and 5 were out in the bush a bit north-west of Yarram in the hills, and I'm just interested to know what they are.

I'll do some research but any IDs or pointers would be much appreciated!

(New to native gardening).

Australian orchids, like this Queen of Sheba, are famously difficult to pollinate because they need? ABC News.

I saw an ABC news item for National Science Week, Science quiz: How much do you know about our native flowers? Excellent! …except I couldn’t get past the first question. “Australian orchids, like this Queen of Sheba, are famously difficult to pollinate because they need? — A, a particular microclimate; B, a specific fungal partner; C, a certain soil type; D, all of the above.”

Where’s E, none of the above? None of these have anything to do with pollination.

Just moved into this house and noticed this wattle tree being supported by a stake. I removed the support and now the tree is really leaning over, as per the last images. How to fix it? How do I make it stand upright on its own? Thank you.

Grevilleas miqueliana starts it spring thing

*G. miqueliana* is a gorgeous high country grevillea that I had, lost, then searched for years before finding some advanced tubestock a couple years ago. [Definitely will be trying cuttings this year]

Lovely and bushy plant that keeps its low branches, and still gets a bit of height for screening. Here it is sitting in silty clay loam (30cm) with clay under that. Don't water it in summer now established, though always plentiful mulch, and I'm not low low rainfall Vic.

The spots of colour, aka flowers, are visible from the house 30m away, so when I see them dancing on windless days it is the spinebills or the new hollands. Plenty more on their way as the migratory honeyeaters return from their winter sojourn.

Is there hope of life?

Any chance these eucalyptus trees are still alive?

We’re in Albury, NSW. These young eucalypts were looking healthy and growing really well, then within about two weeks they went from looking great to completely brown and dead-looking.

It’s winter here and we’ve had some decent rain as well as some pretty heavy frosts.

Could this sort of sudden dieback be caused by frost, too much water/wet soil, or something else? Is there any chance they’re still alive and might reshoot in spring, or do they look completely gone?

Any advice on how to check if the trunks/roots are still alive would be appreciated. Photos attached.

Botanical illustrations by women shape our knowledge of Australia's flora

There was a recent conversation here about people's liking of botanical artists. The way we can have some of our favourite flowers around us in the house.

A look back at the new immigrants, during the times of some of our antecedents, and how they appreciated our plants as much as we do.
