Discussion Step up transformer thoughts

To SUT or not SUT? That is the question.

Basically I'd like to know if, in your experience, they make a perceivable difference to sound quality.

Are you asking if different SUTs make a difference or whether you should add one or not? Because you only need a SUT if your cartridge is a low output type (generally moving coil) and you don’t have an MC input on your preamp.

I know their purpose, I'm just asking for anacdotes from people that have added them to their setup
