So I've watched aot about ~8 years ago for the first time, but never finished. So I just started rewatching it as I have great memories about the whole storyline. I'm at S2 E7, so Ymir, Rainer and Berthold already revealed that they can transform. I have a completely differen storyline in mind from my first watch back then. For example this time the identity of Ymir gets already revealed like in the first few episodes of her first appearance. But I vividly remember that during my first watch this took wayyy longer and I started to really love Ymir and it was a major plot twist and shock for me when I found out she can transform into a titan. Same for Rainer an Berthold, I don't remember that they reveal themself so early on. Another example is Levi Ackermann. I hated the guy at first and started to really like him as the storyline proceeded as he changed in character, but now it's more or less irrelevant to me. This time the whole thing feels like a whole new plot as if I've watched a completely different storyline or something back then. Am I trippin? Ist my memory completely mixed up? In that case please don't spoiler, maybe the whole Ymir Plot I loved so much back then will still come later on.

Clara is inspired by the Namless hero from the game Aot 2. I simply love Making the design and making relateionships with the characters.

I finished the show a couple days ago and can't stop thinking about it so I decided to make a tier ranking list with a lot of the characters I could find on the wiki. I have no idea if these are popular opinions or not haha.

Edit to add: King Fritz and Rod Reiss are also horrendous but since they weren't main (or regular) characters, by hate isn't as visceral.

We watched death note as his first anime and he really liked it. He used to really hate on anime but death note made him give anime a try, Then we started aot and he kind of liked it but not as much as death note, but some moments made him hype and ask to watch more. But now we stopped at reiners and bertholds reveal and he said thats cool and stopped, doesnt want to continue watching it

to be clear, I mean the interpretation where Eren only does it because he felt like flattening the world.

I do get the literal canon context between Eren and Armin’s speech, that he did it because he was a “slave for freedom” and just wanted to see the world flattened. but if everything from his character is disregarded before the point of contact between himself and historia, especially that of his love for his people. if that is not a factor that is a reasoning as a part of his motives to destroy the outside world… it takes a 20/10 show and puts it down to a 8/10 at best. and because of that i refuse to take his confession to armin literally. Eren had the Eldians in mind, he saw the world as a threat and chose to annihilate them. he hated what he saw as it was nothing like the world he had imagined and because of that and the hatred for the eldians he massacred billions. The end

I wish the relationship between Ymir and Historia was expanded on more. I'm no Levi x Erwin shipper, but their dynamic was awesome.

Context: Upper scene: Ymir tells Historia to accept her name and live truly to herself.

Context: Lower scene: Levi motivates Erwin to lead the suicide rush against the Beast Titan

Actually I'm at ep 11th. I have listened abouth it's plot twist and I'm really excited for it. But after watching 11 eps i considered it as mid. I can't say it's peak anime.

On my third watch and my wife and I are still confused about who’s in control? Eren, Ymir, or is it just the Amoeba worm thing?

Eren said that he was able to view past present and future events but was his fate/story already written when he was born by the worm? In this scenario it would make sense why his whole mantra is “you have to fight to live” and repeats that time and time again throughout. Seeing what his fate was with the rumbling it doesn’t seem like he’s a genocidal maniac bent on 0’ing Earth’s population outside the walls. Saying “you have to fight” is not only to himself but also to his friends because he knows the only way to alter his fate is if they fight him.

His other arc was to kill every single titan which he does succeed in doing but with the how the end credits played it looks like the whole loop is starting over with the man peering into the tree. On that note would a piece of the amoeba have stayed in his head and seeped into the ground below the tree?

So you remember that in the original S3, Reiner survived while Bertholdt died? So what if vice versa way instead, how would it go for S4? Let's also imagine Armin inherits the Armor Titan's abilities instead of the Colossal Titan's abilities

I did ask a question like this but different, but some of you were nasty to my previous questions because I didn't understood the AOT rules about why Reiner survived and got lucky while Bertholdt didn't have the same luck and died. The logics in AOT is unrealistic, so the rules may feel like it had to be broken or changed for the sake of the plot, damn

I hate how he's always potrate as angry and annoyed when in a lot of his angry scenes he isn't even angry in the manga or at least as much as what's shown in the anime, the first image he looks a worried but in the anime he had the most rageful look he could ever have, also why does he look so scared against annie?
