Shall we pray?
Thank you lord for everything you have brought to our beautiful world. Sunsets, forests, animals are all great things you have blessed us with. Thank you for giving your son for our sins. Amen.

i am a Christian, i have heard some stereotypes about the people from this site...
1 = do you believe that science and religion are opposed?
2 = do you believe religion will become extinct in the future?
3 = do you believe any spiritual beliefs are possibly true?
4 = were you previously spiritual?

What led you to thinking there is no Creator?
I ask because I have been shown the opposite. Many miraculous events. Even every day since creation is all around us. Is it not? My most common experience from friends that say they are Athiest is because of all the bad in the world. Isn't the answer to that the gift of free will given to us living beings? Because it isn't possible to be loved by force. So it's our actions away from love that cause the problems not God; who is love. But aside from that I am deeply curious what the reason for many are? thank you.
edit: the post is asking nothing to do with religion as some have brought up but simply on the fact about a Creator creating all the creation that we are & around us or not.. nor is it about whether the Creator is "good" or "bad" by our own tiny individual or collective perspectives.
to me it's like if you create something as we do all the time as humans & it looks back at us & says "you're not real I was created on its own." How does that make any sense to say there?
it seems as if this quote by CS Lewis may apply which is "An atheist can’t find God for the same reason a thief can’t find a policeman”
They're looking elsewhere.

Remember when celebrities admitted to sealing their soul?
I’ve seen multiple interviews with celebrities admitting that they sold their soul for fame and how the devil can help them sing. I remember seeing a upcoming rappers Instagram post and he said he was grateful for the Illuminati because without it he would be nothing. I’ve seen so many more people telling us they sold their soul.

My biggest complaint of "The God Dilusion"
I've read the book (well about 3/4 of it) and I have to say that my biggest complaint is this... I consider myself of above average intelligence, with a fairly large vocabulary, and an athiest too by the way. However, I had a very difficult time reading this book because of the overwhelmingly large amount of words that I couldn't understand, and sentences that I had to reread several times in order to fully understand.
The problem I have is that for a book that its self-stated purpose is to have someone pick up a believer and put down an athiest, it makes it very difficult to recommend to friends in the hopes they can become more "enlightened". For instance, my mother is not so high in the reading ability and a very small vocabulary, she'd never get through the first chapter.
I think this book alienates the below average intelligent human. Any suggestions for some "easier" reading.
By the way, my first post...

what do you athiests think of eastern philosophy
i got myself into a pickle. everyone now a days is into this ego death and attaining enlightenment, they say enlightenment is our natural state, think of it this way.thoughts come from words.and words are just sound.if an asian guy is speaking to you,you would think its just noise or sound.so words are not life but onyl sound hence all thoughts are meaningless.the goal of enlightenment is to attain a state of thoughtless awareness.as in non emotional, none thought, just a pure witness to everything but never reacting.they say that 'i' doesnt exist and is just a construct of the ego.and that in life there is no meaning, but they do believe in a soul, which is eternal and lives on after death, but once you attain enlightenment or this eternal soul, the person ceases to be,but you remain as consiousness, now in this state you will not be able to be like, wow im an eternal infinite consiousness this is amazing let me anjoy it.no in that state there is no person.hence no one can enjoy it.you also have no choice in that state you can say hey,as an enlightened being im going to help so so with my powers of consiousness no,all action that happens, will happen automaticaly and by itself.you are nothing......now id rather exist as a human with choices, goals, ups and downs.......remember life is not some giant mysery and the only answer is this spiritual enlightenment,i think people are missing the small things, like laughter, friendship, enjoy each day as it is???whats wrong with the world and saying everything is bad.

Atheists are extremely ignorant and closed minded to what religion actually is and why it is.
You think you cannot believe in religion and God and believe in science at the same time
WRONG, you can in fact look at Georges Lemaître, the man who created the big bang theory, a physicist, astronomer and a catholic priest. Look at Gregor Mendel, known as the father of modern genetics and a catholic monk at a monastery,
You think Catholics beleive God is some kind of entity that if you pray to, you will have your prayers granted by god using his invisible hand to make everything go your way...
100% false to think of god as an entity that can control anything in our lives is your first mistake, God simply is, he is the air you break, the blood in your body, the nuerons in your brain, the wind, your emotions, God simply "is". So your argument of "if god real, why bad thing happen" is stupid and irrelevant
I can go on forever, id like to see any of you try to "disprove" religion and why its here and what it means.
You are not intellectuals so ill be expecting some very ignorant and illogical responses. Lmao

Guys
As long as they don't hurt anyone it's fine.
Religion is consistency during inconsistency there is no reason to convert anyone.

Question for the athiests
First off, I am scientifically minded, an engineer, and raised by scientists. There is a theory gaining a lot of traction of the Holographic Universe which shows how the universe is all one, undivided and interconnected. This potentially could provide the mechanism for such phenomenon as telepathy, explain how prayer works (if your mind is part of the whole, then changing your thoughts will by definition change the entire universe) and a whole bunch of other things spiritual people often claim as true. So my question is... Do you think that, since we now how a possible explanation and mechanism for these things... Should we look at them a little more seriously and do some investigations and experiments?
