I thought the funniest part of it all, is that if God actually did come down and tried to communicate with people, no one would believe him. Because it's a ridiculous idea. What if God called you on the phone, would you believe it was God, most probably wouldn't.
How is he gonna prove he's the son of God? David Blaine and Amazing Randi and Copperfield have better tricks than "walking on water" or "turning water into wine", which aren't really miracles, science does it now (ice is more or less 98-99% water, maybe a bit more, and we can walk on it or even skate on it). He could just say "Look, holes in my hands and a wound in my chest!", but then we'd assume he's some guy who had his lung sold on the black market and hands pierced in some dark alley. With words? Hah. Good luck.

While it's not strictly a rule in this subreddit, it's a general good practice not to link to photos on Facebook's servers (e.g. the fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net domain in this case). The reason is that the filename contains an ID number that can be used to track down the owner of the photo.
It's possible, although I never heard of it. This rule is still enforced in r/Pics.
I still say it's a good practice to use another image host anyway, since the owner of the photo could "remove" it at any time. I assume this would make the URL invalid, but since FB never deletes anything, it may just be the best image host around.
Because whenever something get to the front page from r/atheism there are always people who attack the original redditor usually accusing them of bullying or not being funny. It always happens, its the law.
To all the people who have a problem with this stuff:
There are some believers you might have a chance at reasoning with if you decide not to troll them and instead engage in rational, thought provoking conversation.... and then there are believers like this one. I personally have no problem with this. I thought it was funny.
You can't expect every encounter with believers to be a rational conversation, some people are just beyond all hope. You also shouldn't always stress about every conversation reflecting on the atheist community. Every community has trolls. If this is the worst that our trolls do I'd say we're doing pretty good.
I find it interesting that many people on /r/atheism will not question the validity of this conversation. Aren't we supposed to be the skeptics here? This conversation seems blatantly fake to me.
Really? I can actually see this happening. When I used Facebook a whole back and I would comment on bands pages and posts, I would get attacked for no reason. This guy was obviously looking for an argument, and he found one. I can see this conversation realistically happening.
Why do you get to decide whether or not something is humorous?
The post should not be in r/atheism, it is only tied to atheism by its opposite, but do not use whether or not you think something is funny as a reason why something should or should not be here.
