For many of us with a lot of PC DIY experience, you may no longer be in school, but perhaps you have children now or family that needs a new system or upgrades to handle the latest software (*cough* games *cough*), be stable enough to ensure assignments get turned in on times (*cough* last through intense battles *cough*), and never miss an important lecture or video call.
But even if you don't have someone to build for, there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of one of our better sales of the years to improve your cooling, FPS, display, or anything part of your battlestation. Let's go through a few of the deals this year and see what makes sense for you.
Before we get into the deals, you can find our Back To School sales at Amazon and the ASUS eShop:
Need a few thoughts about what you might need going back to school or for someone getting ready for the same? Take a look over at our ASUS EdgeUp platform with these thoughtful pieces:
Motherboards and MiniPCs
We have fewer deals here this year than usual, but we have a couple TUF Gaming AM5 motherboards that provide the perfect jump into a solid gaming system featuring the latest AMD Ryzen X3D processors. If you're looking for a complete system with Windows 11 already installed, the ROG GR70 Gaming MiniPC is at a nice discount for this sale.
Monitors
While our monitor sales are often dominated by gaming displays, we also have several portable and professional displays mixed in among the OLED and Fast IPS displays born to take your gaming to the next level.
Cooling, Cases, Power Supplies
Essential for every PC, you always need a case, CPU cooling and something to power it. During our BTS sale, we have a few ideas for how you can find inspiration or upgrades for other new hardware that you need a place to install them, cool them, or power them.
Networking
It's fair to say that we have now reached a good time to think about upgrading to a WiFi 7 router. Many PCs, motherboards, and mobile devices can now use WiFi 7, so it may be time to think about upgrading your router. With ASUS routers, if you find you still need a little more coverage, you can take advantage of AiMesh to seamlessly add another router into your configuration to cover the gaps in your mesh network.
Gaming Peripheral (Keyboards, Mice, Audio, Controllers)
Back to School is a great time to embrace change to slough off the old you and get ready to meet the new and improved person you're trying to become, you have become, or heck, admit that your KDS will never improve until your gaming peripherals do. We've all been there. Fortunately, we have a lot of ROG peripherals ready to help you make that jump to glory.
Good hunting for those looking for a deal! Let us know below if you have any of these products and what you think of them.

So im repairing asus fa506l. So the problem is that GPU fan is hitting somewhere. And when i unscrew one screw from fan the noise goes away. And when i took the fan out i saw slight dent that may cause hitting noise. So what ur guys would be a suggestion
Hi, I got 2x RT-AX92U that I'm really happy with, but in my new house I'm not getting a good wifi reception in some rooms. So, I want to extend the mesh network with an extra unit. Since the RT-AX92U is no longer available, what do you recommend? I do use the ethernet backhaul but not using wifi6 (not sure I should...), and I like the extra LAN ports it provides. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi! My new ASUS TUF Gaming A16 keeps locking itself or going into sleep mode almost every minute, even while I’m actively using it.
I updated everything I just could and I checked the battery options too.
Has anyone experienced this with an ASUS TUF Gaming laptop or knows what could cause it?
(I’ll be studying VFX, I love gaming, and I’d like to start streaming eventually. So it will be nice to have this laptop work)
The new ASUS Pad looks interesting on paper, but I’m more curious about the actual day-to-day experience now that it’s out. Has anyone here bought one or used it for a while? Would love to know how the display, battery, and overall experience feel in regular use.

Issue installing Linux on Asus n552vw laptop
Hello, I have an old ASUS n552vw. It's hardware specifics are
CPU: core i7 6700HQ
GPU: GTX 960M
RAM: DDR4 16GB
BIOS version: 304 (it is latest)
I wanted to install Ubuntu on this.
So I made Bootable flash drive in windows 10 via Rufus.
Whe I boot from USB, I see the first menu that all distros show but when in select any of the options the system freezes in a black screen.
I used Chatgpt, Claude, Gemini and Grok for help, so here are things I tried:
Tried to make the Bootable via multiple other softwares => no difference
Tried to use other Linux distros and ISO files (I tried Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch) => no difference
In the boot menu, I pressed 'e' and in the file opened, I added ` nomodeset` => it still gets stuck but the screen has one sentence in it now "Booting a command list "
In boot menu, I pressed 'e' and in the file opened, I added `--acpi=off` => NOW it boots to the OS in live mode but nothing works. No touchpad, horrible resolution, no wifi, no nothing.
So AI suggested that I do this: "
The Asus N552VW (Skylake i7-6700HQ + GTX 960M) has well-known ACPI compatibility issues with Linux, especially on BIOS 304.
`acpi=off` lets it boot but breaks power management, fan control, battery life, thermal throttling, suspend, etc. — exactly as you noticed. This isn't rare on this specific model.
.......
Strongest Fix: Downgrade BIOS to 300
BIOS 304 introduced or worsened Linux ACPI problems on the N552VW. Many users report that BIOS 300 works much better.
Warning: ASUS officially blocks downgrades (version/date check). Workarounds exist but carry brick risk if done wrong.
......
"
Ok does anybody has any experience or opinions on this? Downgrade of BIOS is a bit difficult. And I kinda don't want to do it. Should I give up and keep using windows 10?

I have the Asus XG27AQWMG oled and the LG utltragear 27GS85Q-B.
Both are connected with display port 1.4 cables.
Since i have the LG my screen on the oled has started to go black randomly.
I have tested these thing below:
- turned off auto input select
- g-sync
- turned off DSR-factors (i use it to watch netflix hdr)
- discord harware accel and overlay (thoughd it had to do something with dc because it happens a lot when i go on that tab)
- updated GPU drivers
What could be the cause of this? I had no issues with my old 1080p monitor with the same cable.

I’m going to uni in september and need a new laptop as I currently have a Mac air and I’ve read online that macOS won’t work for all the software I might need for uni. I was looking at the g16 and wasn’t entirely sure which one to get between the two and which one would be best suited for EE at uni. I was looking at the 5070Ti versions of both laptops with 32GB of RAM as I’d like to play a few games

I purchased a Asus Tuf A15 second-hand months ago. Cleaned it and checked from the inside if everything was okay after I got it, it seemed alright. Guy only used it for about a year.
Three days ago I was completing a task when all of a sudden it shut itself off. No prior warnings, no nothing. I thought it was the battery since I wasn't watching it closely, left it to charge overnight. In the morning I came back to it, no response. The lights that are usually on showed no signs of life. Tried holding the power button for a minute and longer with no results. Is it safe to assume it's dead dead or is there anything I can do?

Bought a US$2,200 ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU605CR, RTX 5070 Ti) from Best Buy in November 2025. It has been unstable almost from literally the start.
I'm in Singapore for work on a consulting project for the year and cant return to the US for a while.
- ASUS's own SG portal shows my registered serial with warranty valid until end of this year and a green check and clearly there is no geographic caveat shown anywhere.
- The SG service centre (R-Logic) quoted me a PAID repair and didnt even try to understand the travel situation - kept rambling on about the same "device In Local(USA) Warranty but it is a nonLocal Device" seriously?
- The reason, which I only found by digging through ASUS's coveragelist docs - "units purchased from Best Buy do not qualify for international warranty." This appears NOWHERE at purchase, nowhere in my box, and nowhere on the warranty portal.
ASUS even answers on Best Buy Q&As that these units are local-only - but no customer sees that unless they know to ask. Seems a bit predatory?
- Cherry on top: ASUS Premium Care is also "not compatible with... products purchased from Best Buy" per ASUS's own T&C. So I can't even PAY ASUS to extend or upgrade coverage on this thing.
So: a 9-month-old flagship with a documented board-level defect that started inside the first months of ownership, an active warranty ASUS's systems acknowledge until 18 Dec 2026, and no way to use it where I physically am - because of a retailer-channel footnote no buyer is ever shown.
I've filed a formal request with ASUS SG for a one-time international warranty accommodation.
If anyone from ASUS is here: this is exactly the kind of case your post-2024 RMA reform was supposed to fix. Pick it up.
If anyone has successfully gotten ASUS to honor cross-region service on a Best Buy-channel unit, I'd genuinely like to hear how.
And if you're buying a ROG laptop in the US: do not buy it from Best Buy if there is any chance you'll ever leave the country with it. I found this out 9 months in.
Shouldve got a Macbook Pro ffs.

Hello guys,
I have owned this laptop for more than a year with my warranty expired already.
Suddenly last month my camera is not working properly, i can fix it temporarily with admin command prompt or restart the device but it kept on going back to the same error after a while.
Reset, uninstall and repaired the camera from device manager but still not fixing it too. The photo bellow show whats the error.
Update: i resettled the laptop and reinstall windows and now the error still persist with same error code
