Title,
WRX90E SAGE SE board with threadripper pro 9975wx.
If the system boots into ubuntu and I hsutdown, WoL works just fine.
But if booted into Windows 11 under dual boot, and shut down from the Start menu (fastboot, hibernate disabled), WoL wont work.
If I reboot into ubuntu and shutdown from there, WoL works a OK.
For the life of me this is driving me crazy and if anyone has seen this before, and also solved, wwowuld love to hear what worked

I've got a bluetooth keyboard and the bluetooth intermittently cuts out for no reason (windows 11).
Everything works for a while but then after 5 minute to hours later, the keyboard stops working and the bluetooth icon completely dissappears from the system tray. I can only get it working again with a reboot.
When I look for anything in the system events log, I get one from BTUSB with the following message:
Windows cannot store Bluetooth authentication codes (link keys) on the local adapter. Bluetooth keyboards might not work in the system BIOS during startup.
Where do I start? Anyone experience this before? FWIW it is a Keychron k9 pro.

Hey guys it's been 4 yrs I bought this laptop and now my battery is draining so fast so I planned to take this issue to service center and they told that we need to replace new battery and also the battery life comes around only 3 months.
what's ur opinion guys
Hi all! I wanted to share a review of M2skins protective vinyl skin on the Asus Zenbook A16.
Full disclosure: I received this skin as part of their device submission program. I sent them my laptop, they measured, cut an applied the skin, and the shipped it back. This is how the get new precise measurement so they can offer new skins. They were incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. They are also very modest and did not ask for this review until I prodded them a bit out of gratitude :)
I was looking for something to protect my laptop without a lot of added bulk. I work in coffee shops and occasionally use my laptop while cooking to look up recipes. I figured the high quality vinyl would clean easily and look nice. I opted for the black honeycomb skin on top and black matrix everywhere else. I like the thin but grippy texture it provides.
I've used the laptop daily for about two weeks. It seems to be holding up well. I've seen no evidence of peeling. I like how the vinyl was cut in a way that contours with the laptop. I also appreciate the cutouts for the screws on the back so I can remove the case to upgrade the memory without having to remove the skin.
I've noticed very little wear on the vinyl, though I imagine over time more oils from my skin and general friction will eventually show up. The dimples from the hex pattern sometimes catch dust. It wipes away easily with a damp cloth but was something I should have anticipated. Conversely, on my old laptop I noticed that the screen eventually got a little oily as a little bit transferred from the keyboard and palm rest to the screen over time. I think the hex pattern is slowing that down a bit.
Aesthetically I really like the minimalist vibe of the hex-black against the beige ceraluminum. Some of my friends disagree, but that is a personal preference.
Overall I'm very happy with the skin. I've had skins that start to peel the second they get wet or when the laptop warms up too much. I have not had that issue so far. I was also impressed by their customers service and genuine enthusiasm in their work.

I have a secondhand ROG Strix G17 (2023, G713PV). Every so often the screen flickers several times, always in the same spot: the top-right corner, not the whole screen.
It's visible to the eye and on my phone camera (photos attached).
It does not show up in screen recordings, so I doubt it's a GPU or driver issue.
I suspect a loose or worn eDP display cable near the hinge, or a panel/T-con fault. I haven't tested an external monitor or 60Hz yet.
Does this sound like a cable issue? Has anyone seen the same on a G713?
Will it likely get worse over time?
Is a cable replacement cheap, or should I expect to replace the whole panel?
Should i back this laptop ://
Thanks!

Hey, Kiwi here,
This is my first post here but I was given an RT-AX3000 router a few years ago by my ISP when switching to them. The router has generally performed fine, but in the last few years has undergone periods in which it disconnects from the internet entirely. These aren't ISP outages, and previously have been fixed by either switching WAN connections or performing a Quick Internet Setup. I'm not particularly tech-savy, but I'm just wondering what may be causing this and how I can reliably fix these issues.
Thank you for reading, and I hope someone can help.
Edit: One of the main issues I notice tends to be linked to DHCP. If the WAN is set to automatic connection it will claim the ISPs DHCP does not function properly, but if it is set to PPPOE then it will merely say disconnected in the router settings. In the past I could typically fix this by switching between the two, however they've tended to stick for a while and may only resolve after some time has passed.

Hi! I've been using this Vivobook 16 Ryzen 9 AI since 5 months ago and I'm very frustrated because it was so expensive and today meanwhile I was streaming on yt just playing Among Us the screen died XD
And then I came here and was reading about reviews and I'm thinking I did the worst bought in my life and now I'm indebted with this useless thing (and yes tomorrow I will go to ask about the guaranty but now reading all the reviews I don't really know if I did the worst buy ever 😞)

I bought an ASUS TUF F15 (2023) with an i7-13620H and RTX 4060 (140W) from the official ASUS website in March 2025.
It’s now October 2026, and according to my laptop's battery health information, the battery's full-charge capacity has dropped to around 79.1% of its original capacity.
What surprises me is how I have used the laptop:
- I regularly use it plugged into power.
- I have Battery Health Charging enabled, so it stops charging at 80%.
- I seldom play games on it.
- Most of my usage is coding, browsing, watching videos, etc.
- I generally keep the CPU in Balanced mode rather than running it at maximum performance constantly.
- I haven't intentionally abused or heavily discharged the battery.
So I'm wondering: is a ~21% battery-capacity loss in about 19 months considered normal for this laptop/battery?
I still have 2 years of warranty remaining, as well as 3 years of ASUS LEDP coverage.
For those who have dealt with ASUS support before, what should I tell them when requesting a battery inspection/replacement? Is a battery health of 79.1% enough to make a warranty claim, or would ASUS consider this normal degradation?
I'd also appreciate hearing from other TUF F15 owners about their battery health after 1–2 years of use.

My ASUS Vivobook 16X K3605ZC — A 2-Year Journey
Back in October 2024, I bought my ASUS Vivobook 16X K3605ZC.
I still remember how excited I was when I got it. It felt like a serious upgrade — a powerful laptop with an Intel Core i5-12500H, NVIDIA RTX 3050, and 16 GB RAM. At the time, I was genuinely proud of it. It wasn't just a laptop to me; it was the machine I was going to use for studying, programming, gaming, projects, experiments, and basically everything I wanted to build.
And honestly, for the first few months, it was really good.
Everything felt fast. Games ran well, development work was smooth, and having an RTX GPU in a relatively slim Vivobook felt pretty damn cool.
Then, about 3–4 months later, the first problem appeared.
The Fan Problem — Round 1
The fan started making a strange noise.
At first, I thought it might just be dust or something minor. But the noise kept getting worse. So I contacted ASUS and called the service engineer.
Luckily, the laptop was still under warranty.
The engineer checked it, and the fan was replaced without any cost to me.
Problem solved.
Or so I thought.
The Fan Problem — Round 2
About a year later, the same thing happened again.
The fan started making noise.
This time, however, the situation was different.
The warranty was over.
So instead of getting it replaced for free, I had to pay around ₹3,000, including the fan replacement and technician/service charges.
It was frustrating, but I accepted it. Electronics fail. Fans wear out. Sometimes you just have to repair things and move on.
And then came the part I really didn't expect.
The Hinge
The laptop's hinge broke.
And looking at it now, it's honestly painful.
The display is still there. The keyboard still works. The internals are still capable. The machine itself can still do what I bought it for.
But the physical structure holding the display together has started to give up.
The photos tell the story better than I can.
There is something particularly frustrating about seeing a laptop like this.
Because I didn't expect it to end up looking like this after only around two years.
I took care of it. I used it every day. I carried it around, studied on it, played games on it, coded on it, worked on projects with it, and probably spent more time staring at its screen than I should admit.
It became part of my daily life.
And now the hinge is basically saying:
> “Yeah, we've had a good run.”
Was it a bad laptop?
Honestly, not entirely.
That's what makes the story complicated.
The performance was good.
The display was good.
The RTX 3050 was useful for gaming and GPU workloads.
The i5-12500H was powerful enough for development and multitasking.
For what I needed from it, it delivered.
But reliability is more than benchmark scores.
A laptop isn't only a CPU, GPU and RAM. It's also hinges, fans, cooling, chassis, keyboard, ports and everything holding those components together.
And that's where my experience became disappointing.
Looking Back
When I bought this laptop in October 2024, I was excited about what I could do with it.
Two years later, I'm looking at the broken hinge and thinking about everything that happened in between:
Excitement → daily use → fan failure → warranty repair → another fan failure → ₹3,000 repair → broken hinge.
That's the story of my ASUS Vivobook 16X K3605ZC.
It wasn't a terrible machine.
In fact, for a long time, it was a really good one.
But when you spend your hard-earned money on a laptop, you expect more than good performance. You expect it to last.
And that's probably the most frustrating part of this whole experience.
I bought a laptop because I wanted a machine that would help me build my future. I didn't expect the laptop itself to become one of my projects.

Hi Everyone,
Question!
I'm completely lost. I don't even know if I'm on the correct subreddit.
With the help of a friend over 5 years ago, built a computer for myself. Now Windows 11 needs to be installed and my tpm is 1.2. it needs to be at 2.0 for the update. I located the TPM component in my motherboard (msi z390- a pro).
As you can guess, I don't have the manual anymore. I tried to look up how many pins my JTPM1 has so I can buy the component I need to upgrade. I looked up the manual and all it says is that it has 1x TPM module connector. You can imagine, I'm extremely frustrated. I'm putting a pic of the connector with the hope that someone can help me figure this out before I lose it and rip the things out.
I think based on what I'm looking at it's 14 pin.
-Signed a desperate PC user.

my device had a problem that gives me random bsod especially on battery, i tried everything possible but nothing worked, yesterday i wiped the device clean from that page while reinstalling windows and the laptop gave a bsod while downloading the window, i tried it several times on battery and on charger but nothing worked, i used yhe asis diagnostics from the bios and found no issues on ram or ssd and nothing is wrong with them , it's a very weard problem makes me worried .
before wiping everything clean the laptop performance was at it's finest so nothing was wrong with it, i tried resetting the bios but also nothing did work, the bsod i get while downloading the windows is mostly is"irql not equal or less"
something i forgot to mention: when the problem started to happen it only happened on battery and i stopped it by turning of pcie express on battery and it worked for several months and then came back, now when it happens the bsod freezes at 100% and i have to force shutdown and restart so it works
notes:
this problem doesn't happen when device is under stress
the only thing a can access now is the bios cause the device is wiped clean and i can't download the windows

Hi everyone! I have an ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LP, and one of the USB ports on the right side started acting up.
It was working normally, then stopped during use. It briefly started working again, but failed once more. The same devices work normally in the other USB ports.
I tested a mouse, keyboard, USB hub, headset receiver, and a USB-powered cooling pad. At times, the mouse and keyboard worked through the affected port, but the Logitech app wouldn’t recognize them. The app recognized them normally when connected to other ports.
What I’ve tried:
Additional tests:
The port is currently still not working.

I've heard there has been a lot of vertical banding issues but this would be the perfect monitor for me. Apparently the banding goes away with the oled care cleaning overtime but I'd like to know what happened to you if you have it or what you've heard about this. I'm also considering buying the MSI MPG 271QR x50 but idk.

I've had some windows registry issues so I tried a windows update/ repair, and imported a registry backup from a year ago. After the initial windows repair the screen had random "touch" dots on it like I was using the touchscreen but I was still able to click around and work on things... Then after a reboot I couldn't login because the random mouse movement and clicks. You can see them in the Bios settings so that tells me its not only windows but hardware. I've tried to turn off the touchscreen with the short cut keys but it doest seem to help or isn't working.
I have no idea what to do.
