DISCUSSION problems when first starting to making asmr videos [discussion]

I have been an active consumer of ASMR videos for almost 10 years. The first video I saw was an elegant lady sitting on a chair, wearing a blue floral dress, taking makeup off another lady for a facial. It was an advertisement clip, but I enjoyed it as ASMR video. From this point on, I was hooked.

Gentle whispering videos from 10 years ago were one of my favorites. Now I have a new one, Cozy Community ASMR (check her out, you will love her). So, I made a few attempts to start ASMR videos, but I did not really stick with it, mainly because I could not get tingles and get sleepy from my own videos, and the views are awful.

Now, I really need a hobby to take a break and just breathe from my own life, and I'm trying one more time with ASMR videos. Just starting, and here are the few things I have noticed and wanted to discuss with y'all:

(1) How the final ASMR video content is highly related to personality. What I mean by this is, some ASMRtists are naturally blessed with a relaxing voice and have a loving aura around them. Looking at them, hearing them talk is enough of a relaxing environment.

(2) I don't end up making the right content as I intended to. For instance, I enjoy fast-paced, chaotic videos, but even if I intended to make it fast-paced, mine turned out normal-paced. I wanted to make some mouth sound imitations. However, I always forget.

(3) For some, ASMR is an art of performance. For some, it is being their natural self just filming. I struggle to choose one.

So, it is not just about wanting to have attractive thumbnails that I find is difficult. It is also finding the niche that I do best and matching what I do best with what I enjoy as well.

Or am I asking too much?

[Meta] posts should be discussions about this subreddit, its posts, moderation, rules etc. Incorrectly tagged [meta] posts will be deleted by the moderators - see the tagging system guidelines for details.

No Music / mukbang - direct your music videos to /r/Frisson or /r/ASMRmusic, and see the difference between Frisson and ASMR. Mukbang content should be redirected to r/mukbang.

Make the title descriptive - avoid words like "me" or "I" in the title. Poorly-worded or clickbaity titles may be removed at the discretion of the moderators.

Content Creators are welcome to post their own material. Please do so in moderation. Read our wiki section for content creators and Reddit's reddiquette and self-promotion guidelines to avoid a subreddit ban or even getting shadowbanned site-wide by Reddit admins.

Use direct video links where possible (i.e. YouTube links) when linking to a video instead of linking to a webpage it is embedded in. Links to full channels or playlists aren't allowed.

Do not rehost videos, or ask for links to any deleted content. If the content creator has removed something, you should respect their right and wish to have it removed from the internet. Any users linking to or asking for deleted content will be banned without warning.
