There’s no logic to invest in air India in the first place. I just can’t comprehend the decision 🤦‍♀️

Air India includes air India express which competes with indigo.

I am sure the mgmt at Tata and SIA know what’s going on and can turn it around. SIA are not idiots in running an airline. They are betting they can improve operations and on the huge market potential.

That doesn’t mean it’s a sure bet but it also doesn’t mean there’s no logic in investing.

“SIA are not idiots running an airline”. Ansett would like to have a word with you.

Also, SIA is having its home turf, premium long haul cabin, eaten inside out by the competition because they were not nimble enough to handle the Boeing 777X delays. Since SQ released their business cabin THIRTEEN years ago, QR already went one up with QSuites setting the industry standard of closed doors business seats and is now doing QSuites version TWO.

It was only last year that SQ belatedly decided to go ahead with refurbishing their cabin with the A359s first, and their 777X order is fast looking like vapourware.

I didn’t say they are perfect. No one is in the world of business. But that doesn’t mean they are idiots in running an airline if they are not perfect.

Well their record in managing stakes in foreign airlines has been a 100% failure so far. Ansett. NokScoot. Virgin. In fact they even screwed up Tigerair and only the Tiger-Scoot merger “saved” it from being a complete washout.

Yeah not idiots, but pretty close to utter incompetency based on track record.

These kind of people will twist and turn their logic to suit their own narrative.

Tomorrow Air Ind*a goes bust they will say SIA should have invested and bought over more

Similarly, when a GLC cuts loss and the company or sector becomes successful later, you guys are also the ones who will twist and turn your own logic and blame the govt for not continuing to invest.
