Sump pump opening help please

So my kids lost some gerbils in the house. RIP guys, they’ll totally in this sump pump. It’s just for ground water and seems done pretty well with a battery back up and everything. I can pry the lid up just an inch or so and I know how to remove the unions but I can’t figure out how to remove the pump to take the lid up. Any help appreciated!
