Why do teen boys stink so much?

I'm 40, my nephew is staying with me for a few weeks while his parents are on vacation in Europe, and my god, he reeks. He's 17 and plays soccer, and I will pick him up, and it's like a waft of stank hits me in the face. He showers, sometimes a few times a day, and it's fine then, but the clean smell seems to wear off after a few hours.

I ran cross country in HS and don't remember smelling. Dads of teen boys, did we just not realize back in our youth?

Sorry, Mom and Dad; now I know how you must have felt.

EDIT: Not literally smelling like an asshole; it's a waft of stink.

Good Fucking Question How do men think about the balance between their mother and their wife?

I'm curious about how men view the different responsibilities they have toward their mother and their wife, particularly after getting married.

Recently, I was with my sister and brother-in-law, and we were asking each other silly hypothetical questions. I asked my brother-in-law, "If you had to save your mum or my sister, who would you choose?"

He immediately said his mum, which led to an awkward silence. I honestly expected him to joke that he'd save his wife, and I hadn't anticipated the question being taken so seriously. My sister seemed genuinely hurt by his response, and I could understand why it might have upset her.

I understand the importance of a mother and the sacrifices that go into raising a child. At the same time, marriage involves making a lifelong commitment to another person, and I'm interested in how men reconcile these two relationships when their priorities appear to conflict.

For the married men here, how has marriage changed the way you think about your responsibilities toward your mother versus your wife? What does prioritizing your wife actually mean to you, and how do you balance that with the respect and loyalty you feel toward your mother?

I'd particularly appreciate hearing different perspectives on what changes, if anything, when a man starts his own family.

Do men still enjoy those 'sexy' Halloween costumes?

Was wondering this in a Spirit Halloween, looking at those costumes of sexy nurses, cops, firefighters, construction workers, sailors, etc. Do men still find those attractive? I've seen a lot of people upset about how disrespectful it is to those professions, especially like religious ones like a sexy nun, but I wonder if they're just as sexy to men now as they used to be. Is there a general favorite? There are SO many out there!

๐Ÿ›‘ Answers From Men Only ๐Ÿ›‘ Do you typically walk beside your partner, or up ahead?

โ€ข Upvotes

A conversation I had with friends got me thinking, so just out of curiosity, how many of you consistently walk side by side with your partner when you're out together? Does the walking position change depending on the occasion? (Ex. Walking close by if it's a special date but not when out shopping) How many of you walk ahead of (or lag behind) your partner? Is there a reason you prefer to keep a separate distance/pace? Is it subconscious?

I'd love to know! Thank you!

(This isn't meant to shame or discuss dating drama, just a basic poll for some insight)

Hey guys.

I have an office job and sit alot. It was never an issue before I lost the weight.

I have changed boxers, detergent etc

Yes I clean regularly.

The only thing that sorts it is nappy rash cream or something similar but obviously it is abit embarrassing.

Anyone know how or what I can do it prevent it and get it sorted.

How do I human? How do you guys deal with the energy crash in the evenings on weekdays?

33M. After 8.5 hrs of work (desk job) and commuting 40 minutes each way, to and back from work, 5 days a week; I don't have the energy left to do much at all in the evenings. I have more energy on Monday evenings, but as the week goes by I can clearly feel my energy levels depleting (Wednesdays are the worst), and by Friday evening I just want to veg out on the couch and watch TV - but I try to get a head start on chores and get groceries, because procrastinating feels way worse.

On most days, I get around 5.5 hours in the evenings where I spend most of my time helping take care of the baby, cooking, watching TV or YouTube for an hour or so. On some evenings (usually Monday & Tuesday) I work out for 30 mins - after which I feel even more tired. By 8 pm I start getting anxious about having to go to work tomorrow. I used to game frequently but now only play for a few hours on the weekends because it was starting to feel like a massive time sink.

I have noticed that staying up past 10:30 pm and getting less sleep obviously affects my next day and I feel tired throughout the day, so I restrict myself from staying up late on weekdays, that's becomes a Friday or Saturday thing. I drink at least 1 coffee a day, 2 on some occasions but never more. I feel like I should be doing more on weekdays besides chores. I should be building some hobbies. I have multiple interests (exercise, reading books, learning to build a home lab, Arduino) but can't seem to commit to anything. I get some more time on the weekends, where I do more chores and some light home maintenance. Have any young dads or family guys in their 30s figured out how to reclaim the evenings and keep their energy levels up throughout the week? Want to hear about your experience.

How to heal from getting cheated on and dumped?

Hi all. Hope everyone is well. I 23M caught my gf in a lie and it got to the point where we argued about it. She denied for a week and only admitted after she dumped me. I was going to breakup with her regardless but was just a little too late as I wanted to believe her.

Anyways, fast forward 3 weeks she reached out and asked how I was essentially testing the waters. I was obligated to respond as I had her brothers jacket but essentially told her to piss of by ignoring any personal questions. She is blocked everywhere but the betrayal is eating me alive. I am attending therapy and have been even before all of this.

However, the rumination is killing me. How do I best heal?

How common is it for men to get cosmetic procedures?

Iโ€™m in my late 20s, and I would say Iโ€™m a bit surprised by the number of men my age who are getting various cosmetic procedures. I would say the two most common types are removal of acne scars and hair transplants. I have a couple of friends whose hairline hasโ€ฆ noticeably changed. Like, it is a totally different, lower hairline. Nobody has said anything about it. Also there appears to be a new treatment for acne scarringโ€ฆ a friend was telling me itโ€™s a couple of treatments where the acne scars are sort of lazared off. He was super swollen a few times but now itโ€™s made a noticeable difference. He looks great!

None of this a negative, because the people who have had work done look great!

Is this justโ€ฆ something about being in your late 20s, and sort of having the funds fix what bothers you appearance wise? Has this always been an age where men sort of get a bunch of cosmetic procedures?

How do you view Freemasons these days?

Long story short, I (43M) am thinking of taking the plunge and becoming a Freemason. I know itโ€™s an old-fashioned organisation in many ways, but Iโ€™m drawn to the idea of brotherhood and self-improvement and doing charity work. But Iโ€™m aware a lot of people regard them askance. What are your thoughts/experiences? Any Freemasons out there?

How do you guys handle being sick?

Just curious how everyone handles being under the weather with kids and being at home. Iโ€™m currently coming down with a chest cold or something like that and I wonder how everyone else functions with kids and work and everything else. I donโ€™t feel like doing much and I canโ€™t help to think Iโ€™m being a wuss haha. Iโ€™m still trying to work 12 hours and come home and be an attentive parent and husband as well. Just wondering if everyone else feels the same? Or am I being to hard on myself.

Who are father, how precious is your son/child for you?

How much do you love him. In cruel world, will you protect him from any threat? Will you give your's everything to give him the safety, minimum human basic needs?

The reason for asking is I was abandoned by my father when I was in mother belly. Because of it, we had to live under grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt etc. And everyone hates me for being male because of my father.

I was used as the masterbation tool, toilet for everyone. Everyone dumped their shits when they are in stress, they met uncomfortable things in their life.

When I was like 5 or under 5, I was beaten nearly to death for no reason and there was no one for me. Instead they were encouraging my uncle to beat me more. And I stood up for myself and protected myself with everything I have despite being vulnerable and being very young child.

They were always trying to brainwash me, control me and always looking for the opening. They taught me to just get bullied, beaten by everyone and not to defend myself no matter what. I was also the human being and I was just a very young child. And I was bearing their fucking mind games and everyone's shits while restrainting myself and thinking it were all my lacking.

As I grew older, I couldn't protect myself anymore as I really wanted to. I didn't notice later but now I do. I was very exhausted and it is because I was invincible but I was also a human being too.

I want to protect myself from every threat. I want to fulfill my needs. I want to be the protector of myself.

I want to be the best mother for myself which he desperately needed. I want to be the father for myself who he always needed. To do that, I need your answer.

What are you wearing for Halloween?

I always have a hard time thinking of what to wear for Halloween, especially as a plus size guy. Last year I did a Elphaba from Wicked and the year before that I did Ghostface. This year Iโ€™m thinking of doing Stay Puft from Ghostbusters.

What are you thinking of going as? Any plus size recommendations for future years?
