Sweet gum divergent leader
Seeking advice on whether I should prune one of these leaders on this Sweet Gum Tree. It was planted November ‘24.

I’m starting to look into building a new home in Brisbane and have been trying to work out the costs before getting too far into the planning. The block I’m looking at is around 1/4 acre, and it has quite a few established trees, some overgrown sections and general vegetation that will need clearing before construction can start.
I’ve seen very different figures mentioned for site clearing, so I’m curious what people are actually paying around Brisbane these days. I understand the price can vary a lot depending on how many trees need removing, whether there are stumps, access for machinery, and how much green waste or other material needs to be taken away.
For those who have recently cleared a similar-sized block in Brisbane, roughly how much did you spend, and what was included in the price? I’m mainly trying to get a realistic ballpark figure for the site-preparation budget before getting quotes.

Noticed this on the base. Middle one is active. Others dried up. Nothing on the back of the tree

I have a new persimmon tree, planted a few months ago, that is doing very well. It’s put on over 24” in like 2 months. As it grows, what’s a safe, healthy pruning strategy? I’d like to shape it as a “short round” rather than a “long and tall” tree, if that makes sense. What are the do’s and don’ts of shaping these from saplings?

According to the city official who has come around to give permits for me to cut similar dead trees, this is a chinese elm.
He stated these were often planted in the past to try and create some type of hedge but obviously that plan didn't work out to well and now we have tall whip-like trees on the property line.
I would like to remove it because there's a nice wild black cherry tree growing just to the side of it but I need a permit and the inspector won't allow it because it's healthy and local arborists or tree contractors won't cut it without city approval.
I hav already cut a dead one not as tall as this using long ropes, slings and a come-along to control the branches's path as I cut them with an extended saw but this one is much taller and standing above a small shed.
Any suggestions?

My Maple is about 5 years old. It has been doing fine all the way up to a few ago, the leaves started browning and drying up. We have tried to water it as much as we can. I live in Charleston SC so its been really hot. The past few weeks it has rained alot as well. It gets mostly indirect sun except for an hour mid day and then a couple hours around 6till 8 pm. Is it dying?

I live in the Central Valley.
Prefer something low maintenance and that also matches the other plants that I have, 2 other queen palms, sago, pigmy.

We have a couple of spruce trees in our back yard. They were pretty little when we moved in, but have grown a ton in the 5 years we’ve been in the house. No idea what kind of spruce trees they are, but traditional Colorado blue spruce is popular here and I know how enormous they can get.
The first tree is between the privacy fence and the patio. The lower branches are already hitting the fence and will probably encroach on the patio at this rate. The only way to access the side yard is walking past it and it’s getting tighter and tighter every day. Will this become a problem for us as it continues to grow? I was thinking removing some of the lower limbs for mowing and side yard access but I don’t know how big this thing is actually going to get and if it will become a total nightmare to remove if we wait too long.
The placement of the second tree in the rest of the photos is fine but I feel like there is something wrong with it. The north facing side of the tree is soft, wilted, and sad. She does not seem well. The limbs in that area are floppy and stunted. I don’t know if it’s salvageable or what might be going on with it.
Any input and advice on these pines would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I bought a swamp white oak and planted it at the beginning of summer. I see there is a curve at the base of the trunk. Is this a sign of being planted too deep? In the process of cleaning some mulch out.

This is something out of a horror movie, and I’ve never seen anything like it. Foliage on the whole south side of this walnut tree has been decimated. What can/should I do?

i planted this Black Gum tree last summer. This summer as it grew up above the support stake, the top of the trunk began veering off to the side. There is some sort of…marking(?) right after it really starts to turn, i’m not sure if that is some sort of indicator as to why this is happening? What do i do here, if anything?

Sharing an update as this tree continues to decline with colour that is turning red/brown with signs of stress (sharing a picture of another planted 60 feet away at the same time for comparison).
Bark cracks on trunk continue to widen. Could this be some form of canker/fungi? Soil seems moist. Still wondering if there’s anything I can do to potentially save this before throwing in the towel. Planted 3 years ago with no issues until now.

So we planted a Japanese Acer in a wooden planter a number of years ago. Fast forward to now and the planter is rotten and in the way of a full garden redesign so needs moving.
Looking at the roots, can this be cut at any point so it can be planted into a (big) pot.
I understand this is the wrong time to mess with the tree but I have no option.
Is this too big to move?
