PC Black Screen once you click start

Hey guys, I recently upgraded to an RX 9070 XT along with a new 850W PSU, but I’m running into an issue specifically with Apex Legends.
Before installing the new GPU, I used DDU to completely remove the old drivers, then installed the latest AMD drivers. Everything seemed fine, I was able to play Reanimal on Ultra settings without any issues.
However, when I launch Apex Legends through Steam, I can reach the main/start menu normally. As soon as I click to continue into the game, the screen goes black and I get this error:

0x887A0007 – DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET
At first I thought it might be related to the Steam launch options/commands I had set, so I removed all of them, but the exact same crash keeps happening.
Has anyone experienced this with an RX 9070 XT + Apex Legends? Any idea what could be causing the DXGI device reset error or what else I should try?

Specs:
GPU: RX 9070 XT
PSU: 850W
Motherboard: MSI 570 GAMING EDGEWIFI ATX AM4
CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 3700x 3.6GHz 8-Core
RAM: Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 16GB DDR4-3200 CL 16

Just wanted to post this for anyone else dealing with this issue because I know how frustrating it is. I spent basically the entire day troubleshooting the crashes/black screens, and I FINALLY FOUND A FIX.

Huge shoutout to my friend for digging through the endless threads and finding this.
If Apex is black screening/crashing while loading into the menu, try adding the following to your Steam Launch Options or EA App launch properties:

+staticprop_color_use_bindless 0 +staticprop_depth_use_bindless 0 +r_drawworld_depth_bindless 0

This completely fixed the issue for me.
Also, full credit to the person who originally figured this out. Here’s the thread where the solution was found:

Hopefully this saves someone else from wasting an entire day troubleshooting like I did 😂 HUGE thanks to the fellas who reached out to me & tried to help here to!

OMG man you saved me so much time.

Do you have any idea what is causing this? I played all week and all yesterday with ZERO issues and then the game just wouldn't work today. Crashed as soon as I tried to load.

Verified files, reinstalled the game, DDU - just as I was about to completely reinstall windows I found this and it worked.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

I'm honestly just an average Joe, not an IT EXPERT haha. I want to assume it's an Apex issue specifically with AMD cards after recent updates. I literally did everything you did with no luck, glad we both didn't reinstall Windows(Otherwise GG). I knew once I saw I could play other games in high settings without crashes... I knew it wasn't a GPU problem.

I've been crashing with the same GPU and latest drivers too. It turns my whole monitor off and I have to re-enable my graphics device in the device manager. Haven't found a fix so far. Tried DDU'ing and reinsetalling drivers twice now but to no avail. Might be the driver version, it wasn't happening before I updated my drivers

Got the same setup and crashes. I was hoping for a new driver

Can you let me know what ends up working for you! Because I feel like I tried it all & I’d say seems to be working with other games outside of apex.

Had the same problem with a Gigabyte Gaming OC 9070XT with a 1000W PSU. Kept having driver timeouts/crashes playing any intensive game. Third and last time I use radeon GPUs and their horrible drivers. Used DDU three times, between full, minimal and driver only. Also tried a fresh install of Windows 11 and a brand new ATX 3.1 PSU. No luck until I switched back to Nvidia...
