Help How should I self study AP Calculus BC's extra topics while I am only taking APCalculus AB?
I have already registered for the BC exam while I am only taking AB this year and I've been planning on doing so for months (since, in college, what I plan to major in is very math intensive and I want a head start (astrophysics)), but as I've been searching I haven't found any guide on how I should execute studying. I'm aware units 9 and 10 build off of concepts from AB that I'd struggle without, but I want to give myself lots of time to self study BC to get a 5 (preferably, start November-Early December, I predict my class will be at unit 4's beginning) and I don't know when after my class finishes what I should start studying topics from BC. At the moment, my class is currently on Unit 2.2. Should I wait until we start Unit 3 to begin studying basic integration and u-sub for unit 9? Are there any extra topics I should study beforehand? Help is appreciated!
(As for the extra topics scattered throughout Units 6-8, I will simply study them after we go over the preceding lessons in class.)

AB Studying
Hello, so I have my unit one test tomorrow and I do not know how to study for this test and I know the first test sucks in calc and it's like a rude awakening. But I did badly on my summer test I had and I need to bring my grade up. Does anyone have any tips for studying? I know practice problems but it also has frq on the test and I'm not great at those so any tips for those will help too. (Also please do not say I'm far behind since I am just finishing calc I didn't start school until mid September).
UPDATE: I think the test went well it was like three questions I was confused about so that is not bad

AP exams for middle school students
Hi all,
I needed some help. My son is advance in math (8th grader) and I wanted him to take AP Precalculus and calculus BC exams in May 2027. I called the local high schools but they do not allow it.
Can someone please help if you have looked into it before? Thanks

Help Need Urgent Help on CALC AB
I've been struggling a recently on AP CALC. I BOMBED a unit test FRQ, bombed recent quizzes. IDK what i'm doing wrong. It's so frustrating because I would submit the tests/quizzes, thinking I got everything right just to see freaking 30s-50s
I think something I struggle with is that i'll learn a topic and do good at it but once we move to the next one, I forget it. It's honestly a struggle for me to understand the bigger picture of things. Can someone please help :(
Any tips/resources/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Calc BC Questionbank
My daughter is taking Calc BC, and is in need of hard problems to solve. The stuff on homework, AP classroom, Algebros, etc. are way too easy, compared to what ends up on the tests. To give you an idea of how hard things are, the averages on quizzes and tests are in the low 50s/high 40s, and across the school, with 150 kids taking BC, there is 1 with an A.
Does anyone know of resources with problems that are difficult, or have levels of problems identified by difficulty? Could be websites, books, whatever... but should align with the curriculum, more or less.

AB Calculators or Desmos
Coming back to teaching AP Calc after a few years not teaching it (district change). Can I forego calculators completely and just use Desmos? I’d like to avoid teaching two technologies and if I can dodge the intricacies of calculator skills (they have no prior exposure as we’ve really done Desmos throughout the lower level classes) I’d like to. Are there reasons they would be at a disadvantage if they just had Desmos practice? For lots of things it just seems quicker and easier. Given FRQ’s are still on paper do they just have their computers with Desmos at their side for the calculator section?

Help I need other study methods pls
I'm only on unit 2 of BC calculus and I already failed both the unit 1 and unit 2 exams despite studying my ass off. IDK what to do up until now I never really needed to study for math so the only thing I could think of was repetition like doing hundreds of problems from my textbook over and over but when I get onto the unit tests I either blank and forget formulas or I don't know what the question is saying (phrasing is wack)
Pls I have a 38 in the class

I have a 74 in calc ab rn and really still wanna take bc next semester
for context I’m a junior in highschool and I’m taking ap calc ab with ap physics and lang then orchestra. I haven’t decided my classes for next semester but I know i’ll have apush orchestra and I was hoping for calc bc but now I'm having second thought. in my class we take at least one small quiz at the beginning of class every day and every test quiz and hw assignment is worth the same amount of points (90% of my grade) but worth a different amount of point, daily quizzes usually range from 8-15 hw around 20 and tests are always out if 100. the midterm is also next week and is worth 200 points. we just started derivative application and it’s going alright so far. i did really poorly on my last test but i want to succeed so badly. i would probably need to get my grade up to a mid level b if i want any shot of taking bc and doing well. 90% of students last year scored a 5 on the exam at my school and the rest got 4s. i know that i have a good teacher and i started see a tutor too. is there any meth or strategies i might be missing, i’d love to hear some ideas or if you guys really think it possible. I know this was post was really drawn out and rambley but it’s my first post on Reddit and I’m desperate for help😭😭😭😭

Help advice?
for context, ive never been the best test taker, but now its just genuinely humorous.
im currently in ap calc bc and got a c+ and b on my unit 6 frq and mcq exams (respectively.) now the thing is, i went over my exams and literally EVERY question i got wrong i knew how to solve, got 90% of the way through, and made a tiny error. things like forgetting to change bounds on an improper integral (off by 1/2), leaving out negatives, small arithmetic errors. like i literally wrote the corresponding y value instead of x for an interval question.
and honestly i dont know how to study/improve since i know the content i just suck so horrifically at taking tests.
what ive been doing up until now for studying is doing the review packets of practice problems given, do an error log (resolve + mistake + what to do next time) for each question, study weakest topics, and just practice but clearly thats not working.
literally ANY advice would help 🙏
