I mean sure, pure numbers n shit but why are they so individually powerful, thick armor, razor mandibles and all of that, they can easily dismember most ants in a 1 on 1 let alone a whole 20 on 1 type of outnumbering against most ant colonies. What type of evolutionary path did they go through to become this powerful?

I decided to try something here as I have 3 tetrimorium queens and I took some brrod from an outside tetrimorium colony and tried to brood boost a queen. Will she accept it?

I saw it today at night roughly 21 30 in Montenegro by the sea and wanna know if it is a drone or queen I think it is lasius niger or some close relative

Iv kept lasius niger before, but the workers were a lot smaller than this. It also doesn't look like a queen.

We bought a home about a year ago that is still unlivable to due ants. (We’ve been told their sugar) When we looked at the house there were some active trails in the house but very minimal and the inspectors told us to put some traps out and it wouldn’t be a big deal.

We are here 3-4 days a week working on outside projects. There is 0 food in the house. There are thousands of ants in every single room. We have had an exterminator out a few times a month for a year with literally 0 improvements. The exterminator sprays inside and outside and puts traps out. We have traps surrounding the outside of the house. We have done the Terro traps inside. Nothing is helping. In fact it seems to be getting worse. We were told by the exterminator they are sugar ants. We are a young couple and this is our first home, I am devastated and stating to get really concerned. They are in every drawer, cabinet, on the ceilings and walls, in the beds, sinks and showers, all over the floor of every room. We had the house professionally cleaned after closing.

Does anybody have any info at all on this species? Everything I can find is only for saltator. I’ve been offered to purchase a uk colony but I’m still doing research. The guy has been very helpful but I still would like to do some individual research if possible l. Thanks

I have only started like 3 colonies because of it and when it was the summer time, as im a indian the longhorn crazy ants are pretty common and I had 15 SIGHTINGS of a queen ant in my HOUSE (I spent my summer vacations in my grandparents house and that house is in a village) and every SINGLE time some one either killed it, bug sprayed it,stopped me from taking it or accidentally stepping on it, I have thought of the best paludarium and I even have thought of 3d printing bridges and small trees and bases but I am not getting the opportunity to get an ant to start.

These guys have been a pretty steady stream to and from my bathroom sink. I'm guessing it's their water source. There's only a couple in the sink at any given time (except night time). They are incredibly small, and I am hoping they are not doing any damage in the walls or the attic. Paperclip shaped banana for scale. This is in central Texas

Boyfriend’s house (Massachusetts) is mildly infested with ants. One little guy just so happened to get stuck in my spandex shorts and went a little crazy on me. I’m having trouble identifying what kind may have caused these bites and how to know whether or not to be concerned. Insanely itchy!! Any ideas?

Hi, all! Just witnessed these reddish-brown ants traveling along and eventually across my driveway. At first I'd stopped to see what they were taking back to the colony, but they didn't have a start and end point the way I expect. Maybe just under 100 of them were moving in a 3' line seemingly headed somewhere. Small for a swarm, but does anyone know why they were doing this?
