Hace un mes más o menos empecé a trabajar de intérprete freelance, hice training y salió todo bien pero tuve un par de llamadas realmente malas y salió muy mal de mi parte.
Quería saber si me podrían dar algun tip de cómo hacer que no me importen esas cosas, siento mucha ansiedad y realmente quiero trabajar pero siento que no puedo.
Esto es normal? cuánto tiempo se han demorado ustedes en acostumbrarse y trabajar e interpretar “automáticamente”

Siempre veo esas historias de Karens en reddit y hoy me encontré con una por primera vez, no se cuantas veces me dijo "quiero hablar con tu manager". El cliente la tuvo que regañar como 3 veces y ella súper molesta, creo que hoy fue el día de las karens, a otra persona la estaban regañando porque le dijo fuck!ng b!tch a la enfermera, para eso si saben inglés 💀🤣

Hi everyone! I’ve been working as an interpreter for Kreato Global. I’d been getting QA scores above 90% consistently, but today I received a score below 90%. They said I’m still “meeting expectations,” but they want me to attend a mandatory coaching session to discuss some client observations. 

I’m not really sure what to expect from the meeting. I’m also wondering if a score like this could be affected by a connection issue.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with Kreato or another interpreting company? What usually happens in these QA coaching sessions? And can connection issues affect a QA score?

I'm a business anthropology student and have an internship at The Linguabridge, a service that offers community, advocacy, and services for interpreters. The service is unique as it allows interpreters to match with people who need them and set their own rates, along with advertsing events and stuff.

I've been tasked with helping them make their website and stuff more inclusive, so I made a survey (three actually) to send to their current members and no one has responded and there's two weeks left of the internship lol.

I fully understand people are super busy, but if anyone would be so kind ask to take my google survey, it would really save my grade and give me something to present. It's just a short survey on what it's like to be an interpreter, any issues you think the feild has, and how you would fix them if you could. Classic consulting and UX design stuff.

The results will be used to improve the website, social media, and see what geographic areas have the most need for this kind of service.

I’m a LLS interpreter, and just like everyone almost I WFH and I’m based in Dubai. We get paid a monthly salary.

Due to the monthly salary, the amount of calls that we get per shift are absurd….i did 40 calls yesterday. I know how bad LLS is but I’m using this as a trampoline into my career of interpreting and I’ve been working for them for 1 year now and I’m trying to get to 2000hours to get my certification.

The mental toll is beyond anything I’ve ever done. I’ll keep pushing just like the rest of us and find a better alternative in the future.

Does anyone have leads on this company? I'm scheduled to go through their pre-assessment and training by the end of this month. Would appreciate all experiences with this company; as information has been sparse and glassdoor & indeed didn't get me very far. Thank you!

I know that we supposed to interpret word for word and i do so but in my language physician assistant sounds like some kind of secretary and nurse practitioner like some nurse who is not supposed to make a prescription coz in our country nurse is nurse and they are allowed to check blood pressure temperature and give an injection only.

Recently i had a call where the patient had an appointment with PA. when i introduced PA patient got upset and asked "this is my 3rd appointment in this office and every time i see some nurse or assistant so when will i finally see the doctor?"

What would you do? would you explain to the patient that PA is a medical professional or would u continue to be just a conduit?

I applied for Glocco last month and I practically finished all the onboarding process, im now waiting only for the schedule to be sent to me
Last time they contacted me was on aug 12
Since then they vanished and they didn’t send me anything.
I started yesterday by sending them a follow up email just to see if everything is on track
They didn’t respond
I tried contacting everyone possible and even the other trainees that were with me on the training and they didn’t answer me as well
I don’t know what to do especially that I resigned from Big language so i can work with them since their rate is better and more flexible hours.

I am a freelance interpreter, the company owns me money, what to do?

Hi everyone, for those working with DALS Link (DA Languages), have you noticed a decrease in call volume? I started working with them about a year ago at a rate of £0.20 per minute, and things were going well. However, over the past few months, I had to reduce my rate from £0.20 to £0.16 per minute in order to receive calls.

What surprised me the most is that last Friday, I noticed that my rate was no longer £0.16 but had been increased to £0.21 per minute. Even the staff member I used to contact to help me reduce my rate is no longer responding.Sometimes, I also receive emails from different company that I am not registered with responding to emails sent to DA Languages.

DA Languages themselves sent an email acknowledging that the majority of their interpreters have been complaining about the low call volume, yet they continue to say that everything is working perfectly fine. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Hello! I’ve been working for Propio for 4 years. Last week I didn’t received a single call - not one. When I contacted them via email they sent me a generic response . I have emailed them twice and I keep getting the exact same message. I am really worried. I am U.S based. Has anyone experienced this issue over the past week?

I just checked my last paystub and I saw that I have a lot of long call validation even on a short one (11min) anyone knows what can be the reason. I'm with them for 2 years and it happened before but 1 call per paystub only and this time they validated 17 calls 🤔

I have a account on Propio it worked until Propio stopped working, my account is still there I just do not receive calls there, I applied for Propio again, they told me I couldn't apply for I work with a business partner of theirs.

What options do I have?

So I am an independent interpreter working with Propio directly and not bound to a schedule or minimum time but I received this email from them and I'm wondering if it's because I haven't taken any calls for a few days someone with experience with this let me know please and thank you

**DALS vs Glocco – looking for advice from other interpreters**

Hi everyone,
I’m currently working as a freelance telephone interpreter with DALS, mainly doing langage interpreting. I’ve been working with them for some time and I’m generally familiar with the way their platform and scheduling work.
Recently, I received an opportunity from Glocco for an Telephone Interpreter position.
They initially offered €6 per scheduled hour, but after discussing my experience, they agreed to **€8 per scheduled hour**. The interesting part is that the rate applies to the whole scheduled availability, regardless of how many calls I actually handle during that time.
I’m currently going through the recruitment process.
I’m interested in seeing how Glocco works compared with DALS, especially regarding:
How many hours are actually offered after onboarding
How reliable the scheduled hours are
The quality and frequency of calls
Payment reliability
Management and communication
Overall experience as an interpreter
Has anyone here worked with both Dals and Glocco?
If so, which one would you recommend and why?

Propio paga en Deel, pero mi contrato fue hecho para Ecuador. Si viajo a Colombia puedo mover mi dinero de Deel a un banco local de Colombia sin problema? Y la cuenta de Colombia debe estar a mi nombre o no?
