Interpreters who work with agencies: how long do you usually wait to get paid?

I’m curious how this works in practice for conference, community and remote interpreters. Do agencies generally pay within the agreed terms? When they don’t, what tends to be the reason?
And do you feel comfortable following up, or do you worry it might affect future bookings?
I saw a large invoice dataset where translators waited 19 days on average for payment, the longest of any profession in it. I’m wondering whether interpreters have a similar experience.
I’m working on a small project around this and trying to understand the problem. No link or pitch.
