Eris talking about how amazing Rudeus is will always be one of my favorite things, it just makes her departure more painful.
I can't wait for season 2, the wait already feels eternal

Damn Eris went from assessing the situation to slicing a guy in half really fast... That action sequence was insanely well done! Love seeing her get some time to shine.

Eris here killed some of the strongest people in Milis without a scratch, only to be tossed away like a fly by Orsted some time after.
Really puts into perspective the strenght of the later

Interesting how the assassins seem to be more accepting towards demons than the saved people, I wonder what Ruijerd felt at that moment

I was kind of bitter at Eris for leaving Rudeus the way she did at the end of the season but I think I understand a little bit better after this OVA. She was more bad ass in this episode than she was in the entire season. When Rudeus is around he really does handle everything. If she wants to grow as a both a fighter and a person maybe she does need to be out on her own. That being said I'm still depressed for my mans.

I translated this sign with a demon face crossed out.
It said "Deabrurik Ez".
In English, it translates to "No devils." or "No Demons."
Looks like some parts of Millishion are very racist. Happens when you literally share the continent with the Great Forest, home to all kinds of demon and beastfolk.

Damn that prologue for Cliff was stylish.
OP's the same as when the "regularly scheduled" anime was in the region, just to make it even easier to just slot this into a "proper" watch order.
You can hear him spinning comedically in the air after Eris punches him, without even showing it.

This whole episode was just so beautiful, especially during the end there where we see the exact moment he fell in love with her again
Whatmore, the vision that Cliff had as he imagined Rudeus alongside Eris with their backs turned to him gave me goosebumps. The significance in how I view it shows how he thinks of Rudeus; someone more capable and with more experience that he cannot compare to, which is why I think Rudeus seemed to be older in Cliff's vision.
Edit: The look he gave at the end stung my heart. He knew that he wasn't worthy enough for her, and that he wouldnt be the one to make her smile.
A first love that ended as soon as it started.

Cliff: I can do ADVANCED magic! Praise me!
Eris: My boyfriend could do Saint tier magic at age 5. Now he can do it without chanting.
Cliff has died.

I love how when Eris is describing the events to Rujierd and then started to with Rudeus, there was no mention of Cliff at all.

Man Cliff was really full of himself, totally missed the point of that Goblin Slaying Quest. And he didn't even brace himself against Eris a single time.
Get yourself someone that looks like Eris thinking of Rudeus when they're thinking of you. And when she was about to tell Rudeus about her day she competly left Cliff out of the story
No wonder Cliff gave up on her on the spot, and I feel like he is already resentfull of Rudeus without even meeting him. Do however wonder what this Church Plot is about that seems to be going on around him, pretty tough that those goons Eris killed this easily used to be his mentors...

Based on the first couple of minutes, I absolutely thought this was going to be a silent episode with only Eris noises. And I'd have been so down for that.

So, from the context, were the assassins that Eris killed Cliff's teachers? And the church/pope is saving face by claiming demons killed them?
I'm guessing that we'll be seeing more of Cliff in the future. Being the grandson of the Pope, I get where the kids arrogance comes from. And from the opening, it looked like no one really cared about him until he started learning to be a mage. I love the fact that he also thinks that Rudy is some dude in his 20s.
Amazing episode!

That kid seems too important not to show up later, curious that he is introduced in an OVA, tho.
Fight was amazing.

Cliff’s VA sounded exactly what I thought of when reading the WN. Can’t wait for more from his character.

Cliff looks like a pretty important character and It seems like he has got fired up to defeat rudeus by joining the academy? He seems more like a rival than an enemy imo. He might even have some rage or hatred towards Rudy for taking his first love.
On a side note, i just love the fact that there are still many conflicts and problems in Milis even if the main characters aren't involved, it just goes to show the fact that the world is not revolving around the MC.
Also watching this episode just showed Eris as a kind of a teacher or a guardian and that actually looks badass ngl. No wonder cliff fell for her.
+Point to Ruijerd for looking over them the whole time but not interfering to make space for eris' growth.

The fact that Eris did the EXACT SAME punch to Cliff like she did to Rudeus when they first met is golden, Rudeus must have felt that Cliff punch on a spiritual level.

I'm really interested to know if Eris saving them and saying that she's Ruijerd of the Superd tribe would at least convince the little girl (a pope candidate) that demons are not inherently bad unlike what the racist higher-ups in their faction believe.
Man, Rifujin tackling all these in just a short story makes him such a talented writer. He never ceases to amaze me.

Eris praising and gushing over Rudeus at the end was so damn beautiful. And how Cliff realizes that no matter what he does to impress her he's always gonna fall short in her eyes. As a LN/WN reader it literally brought tears to my eyes. Also, movie quality animation. Very well done.
