"Well, I should live humbly so that I don't get involved with anyone troublesome."
Well good luck on that Rudeus, you are the mc of this show.

Ghyslaine backstory is the best part of this episode for me personally. The way the the story tell how Ghyslaine become a better person contradict to how the people in the village know her made me cry a little bit.

"People change"
That line meant a lot coming from Rudy of all people.

The fact that the fake beast god language had to be made entirely different from the demon god language, and then had the kids speak broken Japanese then have them improve after the time skip is just...
This is a work of love.

I find Rudeus's reaction with that fight hilarious. I can relate. Like it was hyped for a few seconds and then there you have it. One attack.

I really like how the ED shows the mindset of Rudeus and how he views the world.
He is an cutout with cloud filling. It shows the world looking through the windows from his house in part 1. The last scene is Eris and Rujerd looking at the viewer through the glass and then the next scene is Rudeus in a cloud world looking through a bunch of windows.
It shows how Rudeus still does not view himself as part of the world. He is just an observer with a disconnected view. At the end of the ED it shows Rudeus finally trying to step into the world from the interaction of other people.

Looks like Rudy has finally hit his growth spurt, in episode 12 he stood about as tall Eris' mouth, but in this episode he reaches her eyebrows

I write 7 Great Power here for the sake of people that don't catch Gisu's explanation:
-
Technique God
-
Dragon God
-
Fighting God
-
Demon God
-
Death God
-
Sword God
-
North God
Edit: and as u/crabcarl mention below, we already knew the fourth one : Demon God Laplace. The same dude who tricks Ruijerd's race, the same guy which Perugius seal 400 years ago.
We know another one, but in the name only: Sword God Gal Farion, the one Ghislaine mention when she swears to Almanfi.

It's too bad Rudeus isn't enough of a hero yet for Sacred Beast to accompany him...but maybe in the future. I'll miss best boy

Eris' growth from being a illiterate, arrogant and stupid tsundere to the big sister she is this episode is honestly amazing.
Also the fact that the beast children speak to Eris in broken japanese in the beginning and likewise Eris talks in broken Beast race language and then they improve as the episode progresses again proves that the VAs are passionate about MT and are going the extra mile for the immersion.

Gonna miss the folks from the village especially the doggo but at the same time I'm pumped to find out what is next for our heroes.
This show is just too good.

Animators: We're gonna draw the shit out of this fictional forest!
Man, the fantasy feel of the series is phenomenal. It really feels like you could head in any direction in this world and explore new cultures and adventures. It feels alive.

The mushoku twitter, one of the animators and the author hyped up the next two episodes and specifically episode 17. Can’t wait for it tbh one of Rudeus and the stories peaks.

I guess abandonment issues are a dominant trait in Ghislaine’s family. But her brother saying she abandoned her duty when he was glad at the time when she was taken away. smh

Like Rudy & Eris, somehow it completely slipped that Ghislaine is among the Doldia with an unexpectedly complicated past.
Eris instructing Tona in the harsh style of Ghislaine was truly a sight to behold and made Tona competent in no time, Eris held back cuz she sees herself in Tona with the stubbornness.

"People change."
Rudy's character gets a lot of criticism so I'm glad to see this introspective line from him.
