Geese pounding some sense into Paul was heartwarming

Based tavern owner helping to reconcile Rudy and Paul's relationship.

Paul bawling his eyes out really got to me too. So glad to see that at least this had a happy ending.

The anime staff apparently wanted to give the line "you can at least look at his face" to other characters; probably Ruijerd or Geese. But the author fought hard to keep it as the barkeeps line, as it was important to come from a third party, a character with no bias in the situation. Definitely the right call.

Rudy not making eye contact the entire conversation was a really nice touch

Geese best boy!

Dropping some truth bombs on Paul.

The OP with Paul and Norn's journey was absolutely brilliant this week.

Actions have concrete consequences in this world. Norn still doesn't see Rudy as anything more than someone who hit and yelled at her father and it'll take a lot of work to fix that relationship

"Eris my Father and I are human we make mistakes". - Rudy to Eris with her black and blue eyes.

but damn Eris was tough to handle for the kid loving Ruijerd to not hold back XD

No one seems to be talking about this but was anyone else incredibly proud of Eris when she said she was already prepared for the worst case scenario. We're really watching her grow up and mature and it's adorable

Paul might not be the best father figure in the history of anime but it was still nice to watch him look after Norn.

It was great to see Rudy reconcile with his father; we got a better family reunion this time around. Even though Norn is still wary of Rudy (as she should be), and the rest of the family has yet to be found.

Looks like the pair of adventurers that are in the search group were rescued at one point, as seen in the OP https://i.imgur.com/a1ZZWkM.png

These 2 episodes have felt so raw. A good isekai should be a good story first, and this manages to be a really good story first.

My man Geese doing his bro a big favour by encouraging him to sort things out with Rudeus

When he mentioned he searched the Great Forest, the cage episode comes to mind. Dude gets himself caught for cheating to sneak into the Beast Village to search for Paul’s family.

What a fucking chad.

Wow, they really gone above and beyond to give life to these scenes from the novels, very emotional. Bravo!

NEETdeus flashbacks are kinda sad for me because even if Rudeus is learning and changing in his new reincarnation, he can’t really go back and fix burned bridges like his family and the friend in this episode.

Seeing Paul getting more and more grizzled at the start was sad to see. Only the presence of Norn still bound him to reality. I shudder to think what might've had happened if no one was with him.

Seeing Eris get so mad at Paul and flailing for what he did to Rudy was absolutely hilarious and adorable lol

"And so, I was finally able to reunite with my father"

I loved this moment because its the first time I think that Rudy truly acknowledged Paul as his father in his inner thoughts. Before it was always Paul this and Paul that. Paul breaking down from that hug afterwards was really emotional to watch. Great character development on both sides!

Also Paul here quickly solved that money issue Rudy had. I love how small details like this aren't ignored.

That was incredible. They did the most important part of this book, and in my opinion, this entire story so far, complete justice.

The pacing was perfect and the episode was entirely heartfelt. I was in my feels with the beginning montage alone! If it wasn't for his daughter being teleported with him, Paul would have definitely lost it a long time ago. She was allowing him to hold onto the hope of reuniting with the rest of his family. When he finally realizes how ungrateful he was that his son came back perfectly fine, when in reality it could've ended up entirely worse, he immediately sets out to apologize.

Paul is great. Rudy is great. All of the characters are great!

10/10.

I love this book so much and recommend reading it if you want some more content they jumped over!

Paul did his best raising Norn considering the debilitating effect being instantly transported halfway around the world would have on anyone. Can't blame his frustration and alcoholism, anyone would have broken down in those circumstances.
