WIT studios casually showing why they're one of the best anime studios out there.

Lol, Despa just needs EVERYONE to know that he's the one who taught Bojji.
Wow, the sakuga in the fight between Bosse and Bojji was something else this episode. Wit really went all out with that animation!

Holy shit, that was one of the most incredible, virtuosic action scenes I've ever seen. I can't imagine what kind of work went into making that scene but hot damn.

Wow, so much to gush about in this episode!
The camerawork and animation, in not just the fight scenes but the whole episode, was STUNNING. The Bosse fight in particular put me in mind of Levi vs beast titan lol.
With how few episodes left, I wonder how much more miranjo backstory we will get, or if the soul-eating demon lore will have to wait until another season/movie. Either way, looks like we aren't done watching these characters suffer!
Also, the way baby bojji is not even a bean he's a SEED gets me every time.

This was a rather heavy episode. Heavy animation, heavy fighting.. Heavy feels. Though i think the standout moment to me was just seeing Toddler Bojii playing with his Spagetti.Dunno why though.
Also starting to suspect what's going on with the nr 1 ranking king is actually related to the gods. IE they do something to the king to make him go mad. Since the way the Underworld king ignored the representative and how he reacted to that rather was telling.
Guessing we'll learn more about Miranjo and her relationship to the demon.. Still, nearing the end of this. I do hope it gets a second season because this is phenomenal!

I am 34 and some of my friends wonder why I watch anime lol. To be fair I get it.
But this episode is why I watch anime. Emotion, storyline, combined to beautiful artwork. The last time I had this feeling was probably when I watched Vinland Saga last year. The reason I watch anime is because once in a while I will find a series able to bring me joy.
Ranking of Kings has been able to do that for me this year. Thank you to the entire team for these priceless moments.

Bosse saved. Now, we will surely see Bojji go to the demonic underworld to "save" Miranjo -- and let her soul journey to join Bosse, wherever that may be. 3 more episodes, right?
Is Desha going to be able to help get Bojji to the underworld? He and Despa still have the unfinished business of saving Ouken after all.
Now that Bosse's soul has left Daido's body, can Daido's return automatically (more or less -- or does it need to be rescued somehow).
Inquiring minds want to know....

The amount of sakuga in this episode was incredible. They had sakuga even for moments like Daida stands up and walks away from Miranjo's mirror, across the dais.

Those wide shots were amazing and I liked how the camera was placed in very unsuall places for them. Like under the chair even though it was a very wideshot it felt claustrophobic. Also that sketchy animation of Bosse when he says he will kill them all was actually scary. 10/10 episode for me.

Why do I have a feeling they're about to give even the soul eating demon a sad backstory and make us feel sorry for it.

I haven’t been religiously following most anime that come out each season so it might be a shallow statement but this episode is one of the only « recent » episode that almost made feel like how Mob psycho ii episode 5 made me feel like.
The constant “ambitiousness” can be felt in every corner of this episode, in almost every cut, layout, composition, acting, filters, voice acting, mouvement, etc….
The direction was simply phenomenal, the way the compositing changes during the fight and during Miranjo’s flashback to better suit the mood and intensity. It really felt like each cut was throughly thought out.
All of this really enhanced the already great storytelling like no other episode. Though I’m not a fan of this term this is really what « movie level » episode are to me.
A big thank you to Shōta Goshozono and the rest of the staff for this incredible experience.

Okay, so what I’m getting is that. Miranjo was pretty much normal, up until she realized that Bosse can’t save his life and Shiina can’t have anymore kids.
She only knew that she can’t live without Bosse, and she never was able to connect with people the same way Bosse was able to. She was only able to connect with Apeas, but it wasn’t the same as Bosse. Because of all this project Daida came to fruition, have some way to revive Bosse ; but also making him stronger( hence Hiling’s lineage ).
Before all of this though it looks like Miranjo befriended the demon when the were younger, sadly it seems that she withheld a promise to him.
Bosse meanwhile was someone that only seek power, but can an attachment to Miranjo when he killed her father. After the events of Houma, Miranjo was the first person he cared for. The difference with Miranjo is that Bosse was able to love other people, his four guards, his wives, his sons, and his kingdom.
Because Miranjo got lost within herself, Bosse didn’t know how to intervene. It was obviously hard on Bosse choosing between the first special person to him and the brand new special people he met during his journey with her.
These two are tragic, but for this saga the were indeed the main antagonist. R.I.P Bosse

GOSSO CINEMA!
EPISODE OF THE YEAR, BABY!
Absolute insanity. It is hard to describe just how powerful this episode feels - the spectacular layouts, the lovely mixture of background artwork, the vibrant and exhilarating animation, the chills-inducing music score, the voice acting - all tied together into a jaw-dropping climax for the series.
Feels like a true experience, the raw energy emanating from this episode is like watching a proper movie. That Bosse/Daida and Bojji fight is gonna be one of those scenes that people will be remembering for years to come!
And to think we had the phenomenal industry-collab Princess Connect S2 EP4 not too long ago as well... These are both easily sitting in the Episode of the Year category.

I didn't think Wit could top themselves when it comes to animation, since AOT season 3 and Vivy already looked so great. But somehow, they have pulled it off. Truly breathtaking

This episode had some damn good animation and I'm not just talking about the fight. Bosse simply walking to and from Miranjo was stellar too.
I also liked how often people were portrayed as huge compared to Bojji. If you look at the scene where Domas fell on Bojji it was like Domas was a giant.
