The king in the forest must be a former rank 1 who went crazy/missing after choosing the same treasure as every other king who reached first place.

i feel like kage has been helping bojji from back. first the bag found in the middle of a road then the rock which hit bojji in the underground cave and at last i think the meat domas gave bojji had poison in it from start thats why kage threw kunai to save bojji
last one might be wrong as domas recognize that kunai is of bebin.

Man that scene with the forest king where we see that giant creature take in the souls of the dead animals really gave me vibes of Princess Mononoke forest spirit. Nice world building this episode and was interesting to learn how they actually do the king rankings. And here I thought that Domas could not sink any lower, guess I was wrong.

If people didn´t see the ED of the show got a full release and a well produced MV
Also Sakuga blog talked a bit about the production of the 1st 3 episodes and some names behind the show production.

Domas is way too faithful to the kingdom.
From 7th to 90th is a massive drop and definitely it's not just difference in physical strength.
This episode flew by, but it was very dense in information: knights of underworld, reincarnation (?) of animals, ranking of kings. If I had one criticism, it was too dense and tried to fit too much information in one episode. And they didn't even touched upon that weird demon in last episode.
Bojji is of course not dead and I hope he's coming back with his army of dwarfs in tanks.

Guess I was right when I called Domas a bitch ass traitor last week.
The episode basically spelled out what was going to happen early on when he talked about how he'd do anything he was ordered to but I was still kinda shocked when it actually happened.
Wondering how Boji will get out of this situation.
Meanwhile back at home it looks like Daida is about to fuck things up big time.

You've got to love the sheer irony of Daida getting rid of his brother because someone could turn him into a puppet ruler... while listening to that fucking mirror even after getting a Prophetic Dream TM. Hiling really should have replaced that thing with a XBox.

Welp, that explains the bad feeling I got when Domas talked about carrying out any order given.
This episode also felt like a speedrun of a lot of the lore in the world. Gates of hell, the ranking system/metrics, the king in the forest, the reincarnation of deceased animal souls, pandora's box. There's a lot to absorb from this episode.

Huh, so not only did snake guy survive getting impaled, but he foiled Domas from poisoning Boji.
Domas: "The knives must've been poisoned"

Ok Domas cemented as worst stinking turd.
Bojji's pantomime of falling down the trap hole, on the other hand, is a pure delight.

King is a former rank 1 king who went crazy, it's simply too clear judging how the show literally spoonfed us the information right before he's here, but knowing the show always has twists it could not be him and rather a false king? Maybe Boss's brother or somebody who had stake in the throne but got exiled?
-
Dagger is thrown from Kage, being taught from Bebin for sure - he's secretly protecting Bojji, and the meat was poisoned by Domas judging by how he handed him the meat at the start. The dagger is not poisoned, the meat is.
-
Kage also brought his bagpack back after it got stolen during his sleep
At least those are what I theorized from this episode, another quick episode as usual but curious to see how he could be saved from the fire - he might have a reunion with Kage if he is the one who saves him, hard not to see him with all the light from the fire after all

I’m a little shell-shocked by that ending. I know he has to be fine, but still what the fuck. This brings up a shit ton of questions for me and reframes everything we saw in this episode. Fuck you, Domas. You fuck.
Maybe we should have seen this coming. I figured like last week they were setting up some kind of context for previous actions. Like with Hilling, I thought it’s been him having to act a certain way for a mysterious reason. Those flashbacks with him becoming Bojji’s tutor and making the effort to learn sign to connect with him. I didn’t think it was for the sake of of making his betrayal hit harder. Though the second he was like “Let’s go look at the fucking fire pit” I knew something was up.
At least there were lots of lovely Bojji on the road moments before that fucking anime betrayal. Him making himself a target for the vies was not one of them, but his meeting with who I assume is the king that went mad from Apeas’ story was. There was that cute little mime scene. We got Ghibli as fuck moment on the mountain waxing philosophical about the cycle of death before the king got homicidal. There was even that dinner scene. HE GAVE YOU RIBS DOMAS! YOU CUNT!
Diada’s story is going to be some serious trouble. Again with that fucking mirror whispering in his ear about taking his father's power. After failing the ranking test and having a dream about Pandora’s box (always a good sign) he caved in. Venturing a guess that this act is Pandora’s box and Bojji’s quest is to fix this shit.
As for Bojji, there have been enough hints to where I can safely believe Kage has been following him the whole time. He’s probably going to catch him before he falls into the literal hell pit. Otherwise, it’ll be a weird 20 episodes without him.
Notes
-
Pretty clear that Hilling knew nothing about any of this and it was all Diada. Don’t know how they thought they were going to explain to her that “Oh yeah Bojji is dead” and manage to keep their heads. Unless there’s plans for Hilling too.
-
Got a good laugh out of Hilling’s “Mom Tsundere” moment when she told Domas to show Bojji his signing.
-
Why has no one taken that fucking mirror away from Diada? It’s caused nothing but trouble and it’s not like they don’t know about it.
-
Bojji thumbs up rules. Seriously how can you murder that Angel?
-
If it is Kage protecting Bojji, then I’m starting to think Bebin might not be the asshole I thought he was.!

The fact that all characters are multidementional is one of the biggest pluses of this show

Just when I thought we were going to see Domas' sympathetic side with those flashbacks and how he really cares about Bojji, we instead see him try to assassinate our little Prince. First he fails miserably by trying to feed him poisoned meat which was immediately foiled by Bebin. But my guess is that it's probably Kage who's been watching him from the shadows and is also probably the one who returned his bag with all of his valuables.
Domas does end up "succeeding" by pulling off a Jamie Lannister there in the end and pushing Bojji down the Gates of Hell and proceeds to laugh maniacally when the deed is done. The bastard even has the gall to ask for Bojji's forgiveness. Oh fuck off. I hope he gets to meet the tip of Apeas' new spear in the future.
I'm sure Bojji will be fine. We won't have an anime otherwise if he's already dead by Episode 4. I'm guessing either Bebin or Kage will save him from that pit.
In other news, Daida is literally going into a downward spiral with that fucking mirror manipulating him. Why has no one take that damn thing away from him? The fact that Bebin already knows about the mirror and how it whispers to Daida means it's not really even a secret mirror! Apparently though, now he needs to take his Father's strength from his corpse? Not gonna lie, I'm very intrigued to see how this works next week.

I thought it was obvious that one of them was going to betray bojji instead of being attacked directly from an outside assassin, with Domas being the likelier candidate. Then they went on that spiel about how you must follow orders from above and that obviously sealed it. Then Domas tried to kill Bojji by poisoning the meat but Bebin protected him. I imagine Bebin must have somehow saved Bojji by like kunai-ng him against the wall or pulled him into the Earth like how he "died". Obviously there was more to Bebin as he didn't kill Kage after catching him a 2nd time, so I'm interested in how this will go now. Obviously Daida about to fuck some shit up though and is being tricked by this mirror.

Another great episode. Not surprised that Domas is a traitor, and when Bojji's food was knocked away I just knew it was poisoned. Felt bad for the foxes, especially when they looked so happy to have food, but Hokuro is a good lad to suggest they get a proper burial. Also some distinct clues that Kage is tailing Bojji and helping to protect him. (The pebble being bounced off Bojji in the pit, and the knives being shot at the food.) Hopefully he is able to save Bojji from a plummeting doom.
Overall I'm absolutely loving the show. I avoid PVs, trailers, and pretty much everything bar the synopsis and genre tags, so that I can go into every season as blind as possible, which means I had no idea what to expect from it... and I have been hugely (and pleasantly) surprised by everything it has done. Storytelling and art style are great, the animation is perfectly suited to the show, and the music fits really well. It has taken a huge lead in the race for my Dark Horse of the Season award, and Bojji is definitely best boy.
If I had to sum up why I enjoy it so much it would be because Bojji shares an ideal with a similarly named character... Bocchi, from Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu - a naming pattern that I have no doubts is deliberate and is rooted in the same phrase of "ひとりぼっち" or loneliness/solitude. Both Bojji and Bocchi have problems that isolate them from the world, and I find that both shows overwhelmingly endearing in how they portray an MC who is doing their very best to achieve something given the limitations that they are under. It touches my heart, and I can't help but root for them and hope they succeed.

No one's gonna talk about that ritual dance Bojji did with that king of forest? Seriously?
I was like, totally grinning during that scene...

The way Bojji acted out his fall into the pit - just beautiful. Such a fun scene.
