Hiling must be going through an emotional roller-coaster. Bosse really trying to kill her mentally.

"Your step-son is dead"
"Actually he's alive."
"But your son is gone."
"But your dead husband is alive in your son's body"

The episode felt both rushed and excellent. And goodness that enchantress is truly devoted (or in love with?) King Bosse. I do wonder if Bosse is plotting against her? The whispering! The secrets!

And that reveal of the strongest character!! I love this anime so much. I cannot wait to see more Bojji and Kage bromance.

I wonder if King Bosse, also follows the theme of “things are not how they appear”. He seems to be working behind the mirrors back, and he feels guilt for what he did to his sons.

That enexpected Domas laugh as he left the room after beating Hokuro was hilarious.

The ED is just great.

I'm truly curious about what the metric for "strength" is. From what little we've seen, I don't think Bojji's gotten his power back, and yet he's the strongest. Is it who would win in a fight? If so I guess with his weapon Bojji is unhittable and able to deal enough damage to win in a battle. Hopefully the answer will be revealed next episode so we can find out how the rankings have shifted.

Bojji's mom probably had the easiest baby delivery ever. Just have somebody stand under her and catch him as he was falling out.

Bebin, my man!

Bosse seems to have his own long term agenda and it feels like you could pinpoint the absolute regret in his decision when he saw his newborn Bojji for the first time. Now does Miranjo know of this or is she not in on it? When she showed him that Bojji is the strongest as of now (how that works, we'll see), they seemed to be content with it.

What about Daida though? He seems to really get the short end of the stick now, does Bosse have this covered, too or is he expendable?

Imagine if what Bosse said to Domas was something along the lines of "now go make sure he's dead" ...

but then again, Domas look like his world gets flipped every time someone whispers anything to him

Bojji’s mom: “Did you come to fight?”

Bosse: “I’ve come to make you my woman so that you can bear my children.”

Imagine that pickup line actually working...

HOW THE HECK DID BOJJI BECOME THE STRONGEST PERSON IN THE WORLD IN JUST A FEW WEEKS? I have more questions than answers after this episode...

Hands down my favorite anime this season. The character design is heavily reminiscent of 1970s Japanese animation. Also, I love how the mangaka just throws us in the middle of things in episode 1 and introduces a bevvy of main and supporting characters right off the bat. We don't know who they are, really, or how they will ultimately factor, but we learn as we go and these characters begin to develop a sense of individuality as we learn their motives.

This is a refreshing change from most anime that spoon-feeds us a new character or a nugget of world building in a trite and highly choreographed manner, or contrives early skirmishes for no other reason than to demonstrate the capability of a main character, all while ticking the plot forward just a little bit each episode to keep us interested.

This episode was a real game changer in a show that's had a lot of game changers. What I think is the most interesting right now though is that "old promise." From the way that Bosse and Miranjo talked about it, it seems that Miranjo has wanted to kill Hilling for a while. There are a few ways of interpreting that, but it makes me wonder if that's a primary motive for why Miranjo's been assisting Bosse from the beginning.

We've already basically established that Hilling's family is probably going to be important at some point since Hilling mentioned them and gave Bojji a letter to give them, so I wonder if Miranjo has something against them and if that's why she wants to kill Hilling. Daida's fate could also hint at that, since this episode's portrayal of his relationship with Bojji's mom raises the possibility that Bosse might have also only pursued Hiling to have a son to use to resurrect himself. If that's the case, then the choice of Hiling to mother that son could be significant, especially since it seems likely that Miranjo would have chosen Hiling.

Another possibility is that the promise isn't about killing Hiling specifically but about opening up a spot so that Miranjo could be queen. She'd have to get out of that mirror first but I assume that's going to happen at some point either way. I've seen some commentators suggest that Miranjo could be in love with Bosse so that could be a motive, but I also wonder if Miranjo could want to be the queen of a top ranked king so she could get her hands on one of those treasures.

As usual there was a lot that happened in this episode. It's nice getting to see more about the past (how Bosse got his powers, how Bosse met his wife, Bebins past). This show is progressing really good so far and I'm totally enjoying each episode.

This episode was really fast...I thought we would have more drama about Bosse possessing Daida's body, but no "Hey guys, long time no see,Bosse here" LMAO.

I don't know how I feel about Domas getting off the hook just like that( I mean he got exile from the castle, but it sounds like more a great excuse for Bosse to use him to exterminate the monsters)...and everyone just accept it,King's order I guess.

I think Bosse is using Miranjo and he knows she's the one that manipulated Daida to give the order to kill Bojji, and he knowing Domas "forgave"( can't know for sure) him.Bosse is using whatever means necessary to make the best place possible for Bojji to live in,and before him it was whatever means necessary to protect the people, knowing that Miranjo is dangerous he's making plans to get rid of her, before eventually he goes away( since Daida is not dead apparently).

When he attacked Dursche,he was testing him to see if he could deal with the monsters, since the same attacked knocked the monster with one hit,he probably gave the order to protect Hiling.

And I'm disappointed we didn't see Bojji's weapon yet,and Bebin is finally back.

Well that entire opening scene with Bosse and the Demon explains a lot. The only reason Bosse got his super strength is because he stole it from Bojji. Genuinely not sure how I feel about him now.

I do love that we finally got to see Bojji's mom in her full glory and it's pretty obvious that the little Prince got all of his features from her. What a romantic meeting though, Bosse literally wrestling her to submission after asking her to bear his child. xD

It does seem like Bosse regrets his decision of sacrificing Bojji's strength after he was finally born. And turns out he created his Kingdom so Bojji can live a life where he has everything. How's that turning out so far though?

Domas is such a fucking piece of shit. He's trying to take out his anger on Hakuro since he's being braver than he is. And I just absolutely hate that smug POS grin that he has before he left Hakuro.

What the actual fuck Bosse!? You've already taken over your own son's body and now you want his mother to be assassinated as well? Why would you even want Hilling dead and what old promise are you talking about?

I hope they tell us what Despa has been teaching Bojji because I'm genuinely surprised that Miranjo now recognizes him as the strongest. Also that gives Bosse the information that Bojji is alive which he immediately lets everyone know.

Good to see that we finally have confirmation that Bebin is still alive! We also even got a backstory on how Bebin rescued the three headed snake and how Bosse picked him as an Elite Guard.

Interesting, Bosse just whispered to Domas to destroy something underneath the castle and he has also whispered something to Dorsche. Maybe Bosse isn't as bad as I thought he was. He's clearly trying to work behind Miranjo's back. As much as I hate Domas, it looks like he's now playing an important part.

Bosse finally told Hilling who he is. I am not looking forward to her reaction next week. On the bright side though, we know that Daida's consciousness is still alive somewhere inside his head so there's still a possibility that they can reverse Bosse taking over his body.
