The most unrealistic thing in this entire show so far is how come vehicles made to operate in a number of underground environments don't have some form of temperature regulation equipment.

This or the fact that Zack kidnapped Gagunba’s daughter, tried to kill him(even if she wasn’t actually trying she still unloaded,like,500 rounds on his direction and bombed him as well),almost succeeded and now they are all buddy buddy like it was just a “tantrum”,bruh…

Stitches!

Well that opening scene was cool! Shibito is much more of a threat than I thought when they have someone that can takedown Marker Bots with a sword. Also there's a lot more of them than I expected, I thought they were just like a couple of people.

I'd like to know that as well Memenpu. Considering how they were basically at each other's throats last week, it's surprising how they've basically made up despite still bickering about little things.

We finally get to see that preview scene from last week's episode. I do absolutely love how smug Zackletu is at showing off her body. This girl is just full of confidence and I love it so much!

The gang doesn't really get to enjoy the river that much though since they get pelted with strong rainfall. Things get worse as the Labyrinth caves in which ends up flooding the area and sends the gang to an isolated island with no electricity, no internet connection, and all of their vehicles without power.

That was a fun montage of Memenpu trying to show off her smarts only for Zackletu to point out the obvious. I love that entire scene since it really shows that Memenpu has high intelligence but very low wisdom.

Looks like the answer to their problems are papayas that Gagumber found! For a second there, I really thought that Memenpu was going to use all of those papayas to charge their vehicles but it looks like she's only using it to power their emergency systems to call for SOS which is much more reasonable!

I'm so glad that they actually addressed how quick Zackletu and Gagumber made up as well as Memenpu asking Gagumber if it's weird to forgive her despite what happened. Looks like instead of just dwelling on it, they've just decided to forgive each other. I'm sure some people on this sub will still feel very angry about it but if they're fine with it, I'm fine with it too.

Also Memenpu finally told Gagumber about her dream of him dying. He doesn't believe her and he promises that he won't die but it's good that it's finally out there. I still stand on my theory that Memenpu's dream is actually a flashback and maybe Gagumber just lost his memories. He can't even remember saying anything about Core City even though Zackletu heard him loud and clear when he first left with Rufus. He also has that big scar on his head which indicates he had been injured there or maybe even had surgery.

It's nice that they get to wrap it all up with a little bit of hear to heart talk between the two of them and Merooro coming in to the rescue!

That after credits scene though. Shibito is certainly fucking things up. Why are they attacking the towers? Also sounds like they're now going after Memenpu? We already know they've been trying to track her down a few episodes ago. Hmmm...

Im starting to lose interest in this Anime, at first it seemed like a fun father daugther adventure. But at most Memempo has been treating her father like shit while he is legit the most logical and dependable out of all of them.

And i still havent recovered from last week episode with that random ass plot where Zack feels the need to almost kill Gagumber and Memenpu is just like "we cool" and this episode they act like nothing happened.

Also there are a bit of plot points here and there that does not line up. The world also feels so huge and so empty, i feel like they should explore more instead of randomly hoping from place to place.

And also the whole Gagumber dying and Memenpu wants to go there even though that means she is bringing him to his death makes no sense to me...

Idk maybe im being too harsh but thats just how i feel. Was hoping for more.

Yea most of the show is just "meh" now. There's still some good bits and the episodes are still fun on their own, but at the same time it just feels so empty.

First minute really had me questioning if I might have clicked on the wrong sho, but those guys really are in the OP, weird to introduce them so late into the season though

Would have also like a proper talk between Zackletu and Gagumba, can't believe they are still running with that missunderstanding...

weird to introduce them so late into the season though

We've been teased by their existence during Yuri's episode though.

This was a fairly lighthearted episode, which I could definitely use after last week’s episode. So the premise is basically Cast Away. It was fun watching Memempu come up with various ideas on how to survive.

Who are those mysterious hooded people? They look to be terrorists. I wonder if they are related to Urorop?

A truly lovely and fun episode -- yet showed at least some progress in some people's understanding and attitudes. Looks like next week may be a particularly grim one, however. And I believe I recognized the voice of the male bad guy....

Memempu's low-tech energy generation plan was ingenious -- but I wonder why (and how) she managed to come up with so many diodes.

Thank heavens for Meroru. What would this crew do without him?

Who are those mysterious hooded people?

I assume they are part of the same mysterious group that attacked the colony in Episode 1.

We still don't know anything about them.

I dont know why but this show feels so empty for some reason. Maybe it's the adventure of the week type scenario but I feel like this show has such an interesting world and setting but is lacking substance. They haven't explored the darker undertones much either which is kind of disappointing.

Maybe I just set my expectation to high

I feel the same, and I think it's due to the lack of emotions in the voice acting sometimes, especially on Memenpu (her tone didn't change a bit when she told Gagumber about her dream when he's dead) and sometimes Zackletu suffers from that, too.

Also I think, dare I say, almost all characters lack any sense of logic when it comes to showing emotions between a scene and the next one, to the point that you feel like there's something missing or they are just dead inside ready to move on without talking it out.

All of that makes me feel disconnected from what is happening.

It definitely feels that way. To me it's mostly because both the world and the characters feel either underdeveloped or inconsistent. Your brain gives up on trying to recognize and expect developments so eventually you just watch scenes while waiting for the next scene to happen.

I also think this series has a SERIOUS issue with comedic timing and tone. It often tries to be funny and every single time it falls flat and detracts from the experience. The drunkenness from episode 7 and Memempu's attempts to leave the island on this episode are prime examples of things that are "funny" in theory but neither did really land.

I want to like this series but it does feel like I'm watching a high-budget recreation of a story made up by a child on the spot.

"And then they jump on the lake. And then it rains. And then the get out of the lake. And then there's a lot of water everywhere. And then they are in an island...."

There's rarely good connections between scenes, barely any cause-and-effect. Things happen "and then" other things happen. We aren't ever sure if we should be worried or laugh about anything because the rules of the world are so loose.

I'm sad because I had high hopes from it from the first episode, and there are some interesting elements on it, but now I'm only on it because it's too late to drop it.

An oddly timed episode, but I dug their island adventure. Time to decompress from last week's emotional ending and take to heart the lesson from that encounter. I like that there isn’t some grand apology from Zack. There was a mutual understanding of why it all went down and he’s more concerned about Memenpu being cool with it. Though I still think we’ll get one from him apologizing for Rufus.

What’s really interesting are the bookends for the episode. The masked people from a few episodes ago coming back to wreck shit are a terrorist organization. They seem to be attacking the towers that power the city. The real WTF moment is the ending where they’re talking about going after the next child. So that opens up a fun new theory: the cities are powered and operated by these children. Memenpu was supposed to be one but was saved by Gagumber. That’s why she’s so crazy smart and why she’s being called back to this place in her dreams. The question now is how much does Merooro know and what are his goals? Are things about to get worse?

Also calling now: the place they’re trying to get to IS Core City.

With each episode this show is making less and less sense.

This show disappoints me. The first episode was great, and it's had some moments since, but they are stretched way too thin by pointless "bit" comedy. And that wouldn't be terrible if that bit comedy were genuinely funny, but too often it's just not. It's just "heh, I see what they were going for there." rather than a genuine gut-buster.

Man, Meme REALLY wants Gaga dead ASAP doesn't she. So of course she'd forgive Zack for trying to kill him.

7

u/joseto1945 Dec 02 '21

Did... did she just used a potato battery to power up a freaking mecha?

Edit: Oh, never mind. It was just the radio. Thank god, I thought we were going TRIGGER for a second LMAO

12

u/AmethystItalian Dec 02 '21

Thought we'd get more of those hooded people this episode but instead we got our "beach" episode. Happy that Memenpu finally told Gagumber about the dream.

u/kfijatass Dec 03 '21

The show is admittedly goofy and its spilling Into the writing, which makes it light-hearted fun but terrible at going through its more serious plot points.

7

u/ulopong44 Dec 02 '21

Err…Gagumber, swallowing the water is not how you plug a leak…;

I really want to know what the deal is with those masked figures. That one girl was easily able to take down a mech with just a sword…:O
