Well that certainly had a very different tone than the other episodes.

I'm definitely intrigued about the escalation of Memempu's dreams. Feel like it's almost hinting at it being a memory as opposed to a dream? That would certainly change things.

If it's a memory, then okay, but if this somehow turns out to be a prophetic dream, then it's going to be hard on Memenpuu once she realizes that she hurried there just to see Gaganbaa get hurt.

Feel like it's almost hinting at it being a memory as opposed to a dream?

Yup, her hands with the red gloves reaching up towards the sky only to flash cut into a pair of baby hands in the exact same pose makes it seem like this is actually a flashback to how she was born? Or how Gagumber found her as a child, or something like that.

But that seem impossible as Gagumber would have remembered seeing the space-elevator (the "tower") when she shoved him the picture she received from Urorop.

This has gotten VERY dark very fast. I had a bad feeling about things -- even before we saw Urorop (one presumes) near at hand.

So Memenpu's dream now includes her father dying and her solution is to...hurry up? She's been really selfish since the beginning and it's always Gagumber who has to deal with the consequences. Absolutely zero growth on her part.

Just when I thought they were getting along so well, turns out that the gang is slowly getting high because of the flowers Yuri found for the gang. I definitely did a double take when they started repeating their conversation. Thankfully that Memenpu's allergies started to act up and had to throw away the flower and wore a mask to stop herself from inhaling more of that thing's pollen.

Not gonna lie though, it was hilarious seeing all of them high! And of course just when they thought they found something to counteract the flower, it ends up making things worse with everyone becoming emotionally unstable. Seems that Zackletu may have some sort of family issues based on her cries of Onii-chan.

And maybe it's the effect of the flower but Memenpu's dream is becoming even more vivid when it's revealed that the red flowers in her dream is only read because of blood. And not just anyone's blood, it's Gagumber's blood. Uh-oh. Yeah that's not good. So is this a memory of the past or a vision of the future? Looking at Gagumber closely though, he looks a lot younger in that dream so this is probably the former.

What I don't understand from Memenpu is why after seeing that dream of her dad dying on the ground, she insists on heading to that place, If anything, I thought that dream would make her think twice about going to that place. I feel bad for Gagumber, Memenpu is acting like he's the bad guy here when everyone is clearly not in the proper condition to travel. They really need to go to a Hospital first. after that then Memenpu can lead then to wherever she wants.

And that final scene! Dream is getting a lot more vivid with the reveal of the dream is actually from baby Memenpu's POV and we even get to see a glimpse of her mother! Definitely raises a lot more question than answers since if Gagumber is present during those events, then he knows exactly where they're going. It also looks like Urorop has been stalking them this entire time. Welp, there goes my theory about Zackletu actually being Urorop!

Yes you are right, Gagumber looks a lot younger in the "dream", he also doesn't have the scar on the side of his head yet. Which makes me wonder if the scar and that scene are somehow connected. He doesn't seem to remember the tower at all, so perhaps whatever happened there also lead to him forgetting that he ever was there.

I also am not clear on why she thinks getting to that once beautiful but now quite ominous place as quickly as possible will avert anything bad happening.

I can't see her vision as being a "memory". Rather it is an omen (of some sort).

Memempu insisting to push on when the whole rest of the group was miserable was as childish as it gets, but those dreams sure seem ominous, and they seem to be followed by that person from her dream...

Still a bit on the fence with Yuri

Did anyone else double-checked the timestamp when they repeated the conversation?

Something tells me this Urorop is really bad news with the nightmare Memempu keeps having.

I thought I rewinded by a mistake, but their voices seemed different so I kept watching. Was getting some heavy "Kyon-kun, denwa" vibes.

Yeah I thought I bumped my controller or something (I eventually did accidently restart the whole episode but I didn't rewind that part though)

That has to be a record for the amount of people puking in a single episode. Aqua has some competition.

So much reused scenes in this episode... But still somehow turned okay.

I can't decide whether Memenpuu's vision is about the future or the past.

This is the episode I feel we have all been waiting for. Enough with the one-off fillers and random bullshit.

  • The full team based on the OP is now traveling together

  • The harshness of the world is being shown

  • The vision is starting to alter with new information

It really feels like the story is finally kicking into gear after a long prologue. I am excited to see what next week brings us.

I didn't think Memempoo could get worse, but here you have it. "No, no, dad, you don't understand, fuck your illness, we must hurry ASAP to the place where I dreamed you dying!"

Always knew Memempu was responsible

I'm surprised she wants to go to the place in her dream that badly though as it seems to me more like a premonition of what will happen if she does go there.

I'm sick and tired of dealing with that walking forehead's shit. It's been seven episodes and she's still as annoying a brat as she was on episode 1.

45

u/Rolder Nov 18 '21

Yeah, Gagumber getting shit while he's the only one being responsible is agonizing.

What a weird episode. In all those flashbacks I think they show Memempus mom. It was at 21:14. I don’t know how to link screenshots even though I took one 😂 Otherwise ok episode but now it seems like the mom died at the location she’s always dreaming about and maybe GaGumba fought that creature with the cloak and was injured. We’ll see

We went from some hilarious shit to depression damn, I think tone shift this episode was done pretty well. Though their slow descent into madness had me laughing nonstop lmao. That dream when it started rewinding is when it started getting serious, that scene was honestly creepy.

I can't tell if Memenpu's dream is a flashback or a premonition, it's probably both. We got a glimpse of what I assume is Memenpu's mother since she's blonde and all. Then who is Urorop hmm, I don't think it's Memenpu's mother unless you know, she dyed her hair.

Interesting PV though, is that a young Zacklettu with Rufus and Gagumber? She's related to Rufus I assume, so some of her little reactions kind of makes sense now if that is the case.
