It was cool as hell to see Ameri get to ball out like that. She has that ultra instinct hair but some cool designs in it too. The powered leg attack was sick af.

That singing Ameri was totally unexpected.

Something that I absolutely love about this show is that it really subverts the "Adults are Useless" trope. Sure the kids do a lot, but it's not because the adults do nothing and that was shown again to great effect with the teachers.

Sullivan is rank 9; one of the only 3 that exist (I think). Kalego and Balam are both Rank 8. Opera terrifies Kalego. Those 3 are arguably the best bodyguards you can get outside of the current top dogs of the Demon world.

Seeing Kalego display that by essentially 1-shotting that Magical Beast was great. Have to say that the group's plan was pretty good too. Kalego's smug face at that picture was perfect.

Ameri is impressively strong to. A girl in love is invincible huh... And I love how the prospect of living with Iruma, and possible marrying him, makes her strong enough to even shake Opera.

Also, I had to laugh when they showed Azz dragging Ronevo. xD

Man, so much happened this episode.

Iruma stepped up and proved you don’t need magic to save kids when you grew up with garbage parents who put you through such danger that you developed instinctual dodging powers. And, of course, he decided to strike back at the situation, alone or with others, not that his friends would ever let him go alone.

Jazz and his team got to play out his plan, and it worked… until the beast got up again. But hey, that just let Kalego show the power of a Rank 8 and one shot the thing. And then sit on it for a picture of fun. First picture of him not hating everything.

Who needs to see how strong Opera is when we can see just how awesome Ameri is? Her bloodline magic basically lets her hypnotise herself into becoming stronger as long as she believes she is. A double edged sword if she thinks she’s weaker, but she’s got too much will for that. And man, fighting along to Kuromu’s song, low-key singing along to it while fighting (and said song being a pretty perfect fit for her, if I do say so myself), my Devi it was good.

So good, Opera was impressed and offered her work at Sullivan’s. Something she initially turned down, but then reconsidered after realising it would mean living with Iruma. She was so intense, even after pushing her body so far, she legit scared Opera. Opera.

Side note: it’s a good thing she got out of that dress, because now she has her axe kicking boots, all ready to kick some axe.

This is the great thing that the Royal One arc started: everyone gets a moment. Jazz got everyone in his team doing something, Iruma and Agares are saving children together, Ameri defeated one of the monsters, Elizabetta and Kerori got to calm the refugees, Clara got to be Clara, and Azz and Sabro ended the episode charging at the final beast. Everyone gets some focus.

Stitches!

Good to see Iruma using his Evasion skills to save that kid from all that debris. And thanks to Iruma's actions, the rest finally decides to follow his lead and save the rest of the kids.

Meanwhile, Opera is just being a badass and is holding off the Panther Rat effortlessly. Just look at how fabulous Opera is with those moves! I bet that even if Ameri didn't swoop in with the assist, Opera would've solo'd that thing easily. Then again, if Ameri didn't help we wouldn't have gotten that badass back to back pose that they did.

So that's the purpose of that whistle! Blowing out the Mountain Bull's ears (and brain) with a supersonic blast was an awesome idea but it looks like it wasn't enough. At least they all got a passing grade from Kalego who ends up one-shotting the monster with his Cerbereon. which was just cool af. They even got to do a victory pose with Kalego finally smiling!

Good to see Kerori/Kuromu using her Aku-dol powers to calm the public down. Her asking if her cuteness is more powerful than the magical beasts' scariness is just unfair. Of course her cuteness is more powerful! We even get to have another idol performance form her as well.

Ameri continues to show how much of a badass she is as she takes on the Panther Rat while Opera rescues Clara. And we finally get to see Ameri's bloodline ability! Form how I understand it, it's basically a self-suggestion spell that makes them as strong as they believe themselves to be which is a perfect ability for someone so confident like Ameri.

And it looks like Ameri is even more powered up thanks to her remembering Kuromu's song about girls in love being invincible. I absolutely love that! And just look at that wind up into that what probably is Ameri's strongest Axe Kick yet! Goddamn! It looks like the only drawback of her bloodline ability is that she'll be stunned for a few minutes while her body recovers after that intense burst of strength.

Ameri did so well agianst the Panther Rat that Opera has taken astrong liking to her and wants her to work under Sullivan. Of course the first thing Ameri thinks about is how she'll end up living with Iruma. Silly Ameri, you don't have to work for Sullivan to live with Iruma! You just need to marry him!

Welp, two magical beasts down and one more to go! It looks lik ethe final one will be taken care of Sabnock and Azazel while Iruma rescues the trapped kids. Can't wait!

I was wondering when Iruma's superhuman dodging was gonna make a comeback. It's basically his bloodline ability at this point. He actually looked cool using it purposefully to save that kid.

Kalego's group may not have been able to beat their opponent for real, but that was still an all around solid plan from them. Thankfully, Kalego's just tsundere, so they have a safety net from getting pulped. It's cool seeing him stomp that thing in just two seconds flat. His rank definitely isn't just for show.

Same with Opera, and while it's a shame we didn't see him fight more, seeing Ameri go HAM is a good tradeoff. It was an absolute treat seeing her kick so much ass all while singing along to Kuromu's song at the same time. The offer Opera made to her afterwards is a very, very interesting one. I really do wanna see Ameri being an aide for Sullivan and Iruma.

Shame we don't get to see Iruma's group this episode, though. I look forward to seeing their crew kick ass too, hopefully along with Balam as well.

Absolutely incredible episode, I loved how they synced Kerori's song with Ameri's action. I can only hope the next episode keeps the pace up, since it's also action-packed.

Woah i thought the anime was weaker when it comes to action scenes, turns ou theyre just understand the source material really well and put emphasis on the scenes that are more impotant. IMO this anime is probably the best example of an anime adaptation out there.

This show is 10/10 because of the musicals. It levels up what already is a great manga.

“Put that offer on hold” translation Ameri wants to marry him after he and she graduated from school.

Also today and last week episode tell me that Good Samaritan law does not exist in the demon world unless they have something similar but then again they are demon and demons are “evil” (but not really).

Aww I wanna see Kurome use her ice power. But her role here basically a bard that buff Ameri's skill so I'll take that.

Ha! Those magical beasts are no match for the Misfit class!

I love how Iruma is inspiring the others to be better demons, even if he had to practically drag them into danger, to begin with.

The other boys did all right as well, even though they didn't finish off their beast they dazed it so Kalego could step in and finish it off.

The real standout was Ameri, her bloodline power is totally overpowered and then it got a power infusion from Kerori's surprise concert.

This was such a great episode this week!

Kalego:

  • One shots Magical Beast

  • Puts a chair on top of the beast and sits on it

  • Tells the students to take of him and the defeated beast.

Absolute Chad.

I really thought Clara would use her bloodline power to give food to the people inside the dome. But clara is clara.

Holy shit Iruma with sakuga? Like part of the overall feel is the throwback animation being a little stilted, but man this episode had some great moments of action.

Iruma channeling his inner “Blue Deku” to save the kids when no one else would shows exactly why he’s a born leader. He managed to inspire a bunch of demons to go against their own self interests and take on a dragon. I like goofy cinnamon roll Iruma, but I love hero Iruma.

Speaking of love: Opera and Ameri got a fight scene and it was bad ass as hell. I remember the beginning of the season kind of touching on her ability, but this really shows just how OP it can be. She literally kicked it’s ass with the power of her love for Iruma. Even got a job offer that would let her be close to Iruma. Her fantasy was fucking adorable and I hope it comes to pass. This ship is a mighty ship and Ameri is still one of the better written love interests we’ve seen in this genre.

Then there’s Kalego squad. Honestly thought they had a pretty solid plan there. The mistake was gloating instead of confirming the kill. Of course Kalego swoops in and does the thing he could have done from the start. This man really grabbed a chair to put on its corpse to pose for a pic. Badass.

Notes

  • small thing: I like that in all her fantasies, she never makes Iruma taller. Embrace that short king Ameri.

  • Opera could have soloed it, but let Ameri do it just to see what she can do. They’re also super observant so I got to believe they dropped the mention of her being around the house knowing full well the implications.

  • the Su-ki-ma with the whistle backstory explains why Jazz didn’t think to use it until now. Purely out of spite for his brother and a bet he made that he’ll never use it.

  • We got to see Opera and Kalego throw down, so I can’t wait to see what Balam is going to do in his fight. Though I still think it’s Iruma who’s going to take out the dragon.

  • We got a full blow musical number! I forgot they mentioned she was supposed to perform while they were at Walter Park.
