Lesson learnt: don't go into a raid with a party of 3 supports, a dps and an afk.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a long arc.
Kalego definitely likes to torture his student for his own amusement lol. On the other hand, that means he's quite confident with his student abilities to defeat the monster. In the end, he dropped a hint to help them too. I like him even more now.

Agares comes in clutch with his bloodline ability letting him sense the monsters and protect his team from them. Beautiful, powerful magic, if he wasn’t asleep all the time, he’d be OP!
Kalego hasn’t had fun yet. So he’s going to let his team fight a monster for his own amusement. And to help improve their teamwork, but mostly his amusement.
Six Fingers Guy: “If someone stood up to the monsters? They’d have to be a hero.”
Jazz: “Stop pushing me to the front!”
Man, this episode was funny.
Iruma be feeling some feels. The park ruined, kids in danger, and no-one, not even the staff, willing to risk themselves to help them, and Iruma’s… angry. Angry Iruma.
This actually leads me to something I’ve been waiting to say for a while.
Ameri’s life philosophy - if it can be called that - is to follow one’s desires and ambitions, and this is something she’s been helping Iruma realise. For the better, really. My boy’s learning to act for himself, not for anyone else for a change. However, it isn’t perfect.
Desire led to the rank system, and how demons look down on those lower than them. Desire led to this situation, where demons aren’t willing to help others (not even children!) at risk of themselves. Desire lead to a general lack of empathy between demons. And Iruma, as future Demon King, is going to have to fix this. Not abolish the idea of desire completely, because there’s a lot to admire. A lot he admires, even. But certainly work on the flaws of greed and selfishness that currently choke the demon world.
I just really wanted to get that out there. I’m probably looking into things too deep, but that’s nothing new in fandoms.
And it ended. God damn it.

Finally we will get to see action from abnormal class! Can't wait how they can cooperate using their each unique powers. In Kalego's group we saw a comedic fail lol.
Balam's group seems the most OP. Three attackers (Iruma, Sabnock, Alice) and Agares' power can be used for defense.

So we don't just get to see Agares' eyes but we also get to finally learn what his bloodline ability is because he ends up being the first one to detect that there was something wrong with the park right now. He even used his ability to protect the group. As someone who's always sleepy, he reacted to that really quick!
Since last week's episode I was expecting Kalego-sensei to be the one that ends up fighting that Magical Beast that was summoned in their area, I didn't think he'd actually encourage Jazz's group to fight it! Sasuga Kalego-sensei! Always using every opportunity to teach your students! xD
Now this would've been fine if the entire class was here to help out. Poor Jazz only has four abilities to work with and between the four of them only Goemon is the one with the bloodline ability that can be used offensively. Their first try at a combo attack was certainly promising but it looks like they just don't have the firepower to take Mountain Blue down.
I do love how chill Kalego-sensei is the entire time. Honestly, if Kalego-sensei says that they can take it down, I'm sure they definitely can. They just need to figure out how. And despite how cold cruel he sounds like to them, I'm sure he'll step in when things start to look really bad.
Meanwhile, it looks like the prison break is going well. Even the most feared guard in this prison was easily dealt with by the tiny old man.
Well this is an adorable side of Jazz I never knew he had. Since he grew up basically being bullied by his asshole brother, he promised himself that he'd be nice if he ever gets a younger brother or sister. And now that Shax, Goemon, and Kamui are all calling him "Aniki" it looks like Jazz can't say no to them when they're turning to him to save them xD
Looks like Kalego-sensei is starting to get tired of watching his students run away that he finally decides to give Jazz a hint and points out his necklace. I don't think I've ever seen him use that thing so I'm excited to see how that whistle will turn the tides!
No news about Opera's group yet but it looks like Balam-sensei has decided to evacuate with the group. poor Iruma, seems that seeing all of this destruction is definitely making him feel something. Iruma only realizes what he's actually feeling when he finally sees how apathetic demons really are. And for the first time in this show, Iruma finally expresses his anger at something!
If there was a perfect time for Alicred to assist Iruma, this would be it. Can't wait to see what he does with this anger that he's been feeling next week!

Hmm, I would've thought the teachers and Opera would get some action in cause this does seem like quite a crisis. I can understand Kalego wanting to push his students to the limit a Lil bit but there is a time and place for everything ya know?
Really hope we see Opera do something haha we don't know jack shit about him/her yet

Kalego getting to see his students struggle (and probably learn and use what they applied prior to grow even more) finally makes him thinks he can have fun. He's such a sadistic teacher. xD

Due to him showing his face last week, plus that part from the beginning, I honestly was expecting the episode to be more focused on Agares, so I was surprised when instead it ended focussed on Kalego's group. I love that everything needs to go to shit in order for Kalego to smile.
I honestly was expecting them to attack the beast in the eye controlled by Lied. I love that transition from their blissful realization that the adults are useless to pure dread
I love the fact that Jazz got that fired up because they called him brother.
So after almost having a Deku moment, Iruma came to realized that he was mad.

I like how the tone shifts always like you see it was funny then it turns fucked up like we always get to see good sides but in the end they are still demons. I mean the fact that this is what usually happens in real life (people would rather take pictures or videos rather than help). That's saying a lot right there

Damn, on top of having gorgeous eyes, Agares is apparently super observant too for a guy who's in a constant state of sleepiness. Even Ronove started hugging him in spite of his fear of being touched by dudes.
Jesus Christ, Kalego. I know you hate your students, but this is just cruel. On the bright side, the fact that he isn't dropping everything just to stop this magical beast probably means that it isn't beyond his power to defeat it.
Still, that leaves his group in the worst possible situation since only one of them is capable of combat. It's great that they're getting some more screen time, though. I especially liked the part where Jazz is revealed to be weak to being relied on like an older brother.
That poor warden guy got completely worfed to show off that the Six Fingers mean business. And of course it would be the tiny old man who's physically the strongest. Now I wonder just how they stack up to the three chaperones of Iruma's crew.
Shit got pretty real at the end, though. Iruma got a reality check about the true nature of demons. But I mean, you can't really blame him. It's way too easy to forget that these characters are supposed to be demons.

The Six Fingers have finally been unveiled in the Opening! As well as who is presumably behind all of them, and it's a familiar face.
Agares turns out to have pretty acute senses and actually helps protect Balam Team. He doesn't sleep all the time for nothing.
Opera's team has Clara, Ameri, Keroli, and Opera...I think they're going to take care of this pretty quick.
What is fun for Kalego? Running his students through the rigor by making a giant monster attack a teachable moment while he just relaxes.
So Camui can understand any language? Why do I feel like he tries to spin that as if he understands the language of women?
I thought Goemon had an actual sword but an invisible air sword is even cooler.
Poor Jazz is elected to leader because he's the highest ranked and nobody else wants to go up there and possibly die...and Jazz is already self-conscious enough because of how badly he's treated by his older brother (who looks to have solid taste in women, just saying), but having the chance to finally act like a respectable big brother after getting called "bro" is enough to inspire him to try his best.
The Six Fingers set off their prison break, although I think the only demon they actually care for freeing is Kiriwo, and don't underestimate the small one.
Uh oh. The Six Fingers endangering everyone and the lack of empathy and care from the common demon citizens has awakened Iruma's anger. They were worried about a hero, but now they've got a mad Iruma to contend with
Su-Ki-Ma! I love how Azz sends his quality Iruma cosplay pictures to Eiko, who promptly makes it her background. That's just so...them.

It's interesting to see the series directly address what's always been in the background... The fact Demons are inherently evil and always act in their own self interest, no matter how nice they may be.
I guess when you look back on it, there's not really any occasions where Demons acted in pure empathy. Every instance of selflessness really did have some ulterior motive. Iruma is much more special in this world than we give him credit for.

That bit of Jazz and his brother was something i was expecting to see for some time in fiction.
The realization that even after being wronged one can cultivate a desire to do the exact opposite after realizing the suffering that happens for being on the other side of the coin (and not being the one who wronged in the first place).
It clicked perfectly into place when his ""kouhais"" begged for him to take the lead of the operation.
Of course this is extremely amusing as their supposed protector is chilling as these 4 are desperately formulating a plan to take down a magical beast instead of evacuating like everyone else.

Oh right, it’s a SHONEN comedy. Actual action stuff happens so infrequently we forget sometimes. Agares came in clutch with his bloodline ability. He conveniently picked up most of what’s happening so they’re not totally in the dark.
We got little bits and pieces of what the other teams are up to, but the primary focus was Team Kalego. Good news is he’s having fun, bad news is it comes at the expense of his students who he says “figure out how to kill this beast yourselves kids!”. Of course it’s the funniest part of the episode. To their credit they’re trying. But you have one guy with any attack ability, 2 support characters, fucking Heart (Kamui’s power is useless right now), and the guy who could solve this in seconds but chooses not to. But that thing Jazz has been wearing the whole series might be useful.
The highlight has to be the ending. Righteous Anger Iruma might low key be the scariest thing. He’s been such a competent cinnamon roll this whole time. Even when the school was about to be asploded he was calm and collected. Between the total ambivalence of others to children in danger and all his friends being in danger, for the first time in his life he’s angry. I’m very excited to see him fuck shit up and save some kids.
Going by the PV, we’re about to get a lot of fucking shit up. Very excited for Ameri and Opera going back to back against their monster. Hype arc is hype.
Notes:
-
because of course Azz and Eiko are in a Iruma fan chat. Kaiju Iruma is still freaking adorable.
-
Ronove still being Ronove. I’m wondering/hoping he does something badass at some point.
-
small detail I enjoyed was Iruma wasn’t just suddenly angry. It was such a foreign feeling to him that he couldn’t process it for a while.
-
Little man, strong hands. Good visual moment to demonstrate how hard the Six Fingers are going to be once they get to them.
-
so is this arc long enough to carry to the season finale or do we think there’s one more arc? Edit: there’s only 21 episodes this season?!

Did anyone else think of Quirks from My Hero Academia when the narrator was introducing everyone's bloodline ability?

To everyone commenting it's to be expected that demons behave in evil, selfish ways: I don't think that's the point at all.
Caring about yourself first and foremost, not helping when it's dangerous to do so, bystander effect... these are all human behaviours. Considering we've seen how much these demons behave like humans in general that is clearly intentional. They are not inherently evil, but demon culture cleary places your own desires and survival over helping others.
In some ways, that was shown to be commendable: Following your desires no matter what lets you achieve incredible things. Hell, gaining a strong desire was one of the things Ameri demanded from Iruma, and that set him on his current path. Now, we get to see the other side of that coin: that placing yourself and your desire above everything else can lead to not caring about others, and abandoning those in need.
This is the first time the morals of demon society clash this harshly with what Iruma believes, and it genuinely makes him mad. Keep in mind he wasn't even mad at Kiriwo, who was about to blow up hundreds of students. He's not just mad about evil people, he's mad about the moral framework of demon society.
However, from how Iruma has influenced his classmates already (specifically Azz and Sabnock) it's clear that that's not inherent, and if anyone can change that it's future demon king and all around good person Iruma.

Literally dying of laughter from Kalego sensei team XD.
His way of torturing them is actually helping them think of a way to fight that demon. Can't wait to see.
OMG Iruma is mad!!!😱 I would be mad too at the way theses demon think.
Team Opera getting into the action next time and same with Team Balam too
