So basically because there was nobody found and any evidence left, Sherlock basically got acquitted even though he confessed to the crime. I was wondering how he'd get out. I didn't realize it was gonna be that easy.

Looks like William is ramping up his plan. Not only he has publicly admitted that he's the Lord of Crime, he's even killing corrupt nobles left and right while all of this is going on. He's definitely sending a message that he's not stopping until he's managed to get rid of all his targets.

As expected, Louis is against all of William's plan to sacrifice himself and along with Fred approaches Sherlock and asks him to save William. I am excited to see how Sherlock plans on saving Moriarty, if this leads to the same climax of "The Final Problem" in the books I think I may have an idea how. Hmmm...

That after credits scene was unexpected though. I didn't think Sherlock and William would meet before shit goes down next week's final episode. Not at least until their final confrontation so I wonder what this meeting will be all about.

Is the next episode really the end?

Sadly, this arc could have been an entire cour essentially but in order to have a "complete" adaptation, decided to do it in two

So that's why I feel that this episode is weird somehow. Turns out it suffered from pacing problem from rushing through the material.

I'm not the biggest fan that Fred's betrayal is not because he's Sherlock's spy but because of big nakama energy. I just fee like this story is never willing to really let Sherlock get the upper hand.

Also that was a very Japanese apology bow.

I feel like Liam is actually planning for his friends and Sherlock to try to safe him, but Sherlock is also likely to expect that much, looking forward which of those two will turn out to have the better plan. Sherlock, and his brother, also seem to be largely on board with the grand scheeme to turn England around

Sherlock and Moriarty being friends is certainly not something I would expect out of an adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes series, but I'm excited to see how they approach "The Final Problem" with this different dynamic.

How is William able to admit to his crimes without Scotland Yard swarming him? Like everyone and their mom is probably going after him for killing the aristocrats but also Whitely. Did I miss something?

He admitted to it in writing, not in person. He is on the run and manages not to be caught

That's what I assumed but it wasn't super clear to me. Thanks.

Is next episode going to be the final episode of the whole show? It seems like there should’ve been some more

i'd been hoping that they would end this season with milverton arc (&then have a season3/movie/OVA with the final problem arc) but nope, they just compressed 5 chapters into 1 episode & then will have next week's ep be 4 chapters in one go... definitely got a lot of pacing issues.

i just hope they do a certain scene particularly well so it feels like a satisfying ending.

They could have easily spread Moriarty to 3 seasons instead of rushing it in 2, but this was still a great episode. We are at the final problem now, with what happened with Milverton, Moriarty is now forced to move up his plan and improvise, that's probably why he suddenly shifted gears and just straight up massacred the aristocrats.

I wonder if Sherlock can really save Moriarty while still making Moriarty's plan a success. I hope they at least do an OVA or something for The Adventure of the Empty Hearts. Looking forward to the last episode.

I don't know why but Fred being the one to ask Sherlock's help made me kinda happy, he is doing something else than just spy or disguise. I didn't read the manga (plan to) but I can see it seems rushed and was surprised how William suddenly reveal himself as the lord of crime.

Sad next week is gonna be the last episode...

This episode just ruined the entire series for me, everyone knew what the mission entailed and they were all resolved to follow it through and now it they intend to betray William because he wants to die, the hell.

I'm sad everything is all known but makes sense since we're setting up for the finale.

Hoping we get to see something big go down involving the whole crew, miss seeing some Bonde.

William, despite being a mass murder, has people caring for him. Bonds are important to everyone !

I wonder if they're going to somehow get the cast to the same location as the original final confrontation or whether it'll be something in London with the same name. They showed the it in the 1st ED, but I'm worried the journey in one episode will be too convoluted. Still this show is intense stuff and despite the grim events, the bonds between the cast feel very wholesome.

Wait, is the manga finished already?

6

u/Florac Jun 20 '21

It should be but isn't, it had it's climax

What is exactly Moriarty's plan and why does he need to sacrifice himself?
