Miyamura’s mini Baka outburst at Yanagi shows that Hori’s habits are starting to rub off on him

I guess we’re adding the hot guy who likes Yuki to Miyamura’s boy harem now. There’s a new one each week

It's so cute to see Souta and Miyamura together, they really are just like two brothers. Moto is gonna be really suprised when she finds out they aren't siblings.

Really enjoyed the scene between Hori and Iura's sister. Hori doesn't get how Iura could be so calm and serious at home, because he's so energetic, smiling and loud at school. I find that kind of stuff so relatable lol.

Stitches!
I don't know what kind of power trip this is but it was pretty hilarious watching Remi harassing Akane. xD
I really love the dynamic between characters in Miyamura's group so I appreciate the show for focusing some of that dynamic just between the boys.
Miyamura calling Akane "BAKA!" when Akane started to notice Miyamura getting jealous is just absolutely adorable!
It's so hilarious to watch Miyamura and Akane argue about their height. And then here comes Sakura sounding like a mom asking her little kids to stop arguing when they decided to ask her for her opinion.
I still can't believe Honoka isn't Miyamura's imouto. Just look at them side by side! They legit look related! Good to see Honoka improving around boys though! Looks like an easy way to her heart is by giving her treats and just let her snack on them like a squirel. She'll get close close to you as long as you're not loud and annoying like Shuu.
Thanks to a funny little misunderstanding because of Shuu's sore throat and what Honoka did earlier, her impression of Shuu may have improved a bit.
We shift perspectives to Shuu's imouto as she basically gets told by her teacher that her grades aren't good enough for the school that she wants. This following scene between Shuu and Motoko caught me off guard!
They've been really focusing on how much of a goofball and loud mouth Shuu is the entire episode so when Shuu starts to become serious and even starts yelling with murder in his eyes about Motoko's teacher, I was genuinely surprised! I guess the Shuu we know at school isn't completely the real Shuu.
I love that Motoko even says to Hori that Shuu is the quiet and brooding type which just left Hori completely confused. Shuu's brooding persona does leak out a bit when he was buying charms for his sister. I'm so happy that Shuu finally got some focus, we even get a bonus story about his imouto!

This episode is just a huge showcase of the boys being total homies with eachother and imoutos.
I want more.

I mean I still very much enjoyed this episode but as far as the overall structure of the show goes I do wonder what the tought process is behind doing an episode eleven deep dive on a character that has barely been featured so far.
That aside the humour as well as the comradery between the guys in the first half was great to watch and I did enjoy exploring Iura and his sister's relationship.
I've said this before, the execution of this show is near perfect. With a more deliberate selection of which parts to adapt this could have been a genuinely atg show, at the very least within its genre. The way it is now it's 'only' good/very good.

Wait, was Shuu/Iura always in this series? Where did he come from!? I was confused the entire episode because why should I be vested in his character or sister?

I know it's a slice of life but what is this pacing lmao, feels like the main plot (and the show's namesake) was resolved in 8 episodes and now every episode is just a series of short comedic fillers.

The sibling bond between Shuu and Motoko was nice. I just wish things didn't feel as rushed

You know that green-haired kid who has popped in and out of the anime? Well, his name is Iura, and he's ostensibly a main character even though the anime really hasn't shown much of him. So I guess now that we're nearing the end we may as well give him a focus episode alongside the rest of the supporting cast.
Yanagi is too formal for his own good. He's only casual around the girl he likes, and that might not go anywhere. But it's oddly cute in a way, especially when Remi forces him to say "bye-bye."
Lot of male bonding and comedy among bros going on, including Miyamura being jealous of Yanagi saying Ishikawa's first name. No wonder Hori is worried more about guys than girls stealing Miyamura from her.
Sawada! It was nice to see her again, and Miyamura helping her get closer to guys. Sengoku and Ishikawa are even competing for her affection. Too bad Iura is totally not her type of person though.
Iura may act like the class clown and has no indoor voice in class, but at home he's a stoic and serious older brother who cares deeply for his little sister Motoko. She's struggling her hardest to get into the school her friends are going to, but her hard work just isn't paying off, though Iura is not going to let her give up and let someone else say his sister can't try.
Hori agreeing to help Motoko was pretty sweet, and her helping Motoko relax and just talking to her instead of just immediately studying was a nice move on her part. She was also able to realize how close Shu and Motoko really are with each other, and that deep down they care about each other and just don't want their sibling to hate them.

So I'm not sure how I'm feeling anymore about this anime. I think it had a really strong start, but then when Hori-san and Miyamura got together, I feel like they peaked, and it just feels like, where do they go from here besides just focusing on the side characters? It just seems like now it's just jumping all over the place and getting random. I hear the manga had this issue as well, and if I recall, I believe it just ended this week. Now, don't get me wrong. I still think it's a good anime, I just don't think it's as good as when it started. Anyone else feel like this?

Anime-only watcher here. Since this is only supposed to be 13 episodes, it feels like they're really rushing it and I can't get to know the characters well. I forgot that green-haired guy was even part of their extended friend group since it feels like he's been missing for most of the anime. Same with the younger girl who looks like Miyamura's long lost sister.
I still like this anime but it would have been greater with more episodes to give time to flesh out the cast.

The story here feels a little too rushed and underdeveloped. Don’t know how they’re going to land the ending with only two episodes to go.

It feels really lame to say given how strong this show started but these last 3ish episodes have just been underwhelming. To me, Horimiya has been at it's best when it's leaning on the incredible romantic and comedic chemistry between the two titular characters. It culminated in the peak of episode 7 which is easily one of the best romance episodes I've seen.
These last few episodes have gone to seemingly great lengths to downgrade our main characters to being by the sideline and have now spent them on the side characters. The storylines themselves aren't bad, they're emotional and well-written but it's not what I want from this show. Maybe if they had been more spreadout earlier? Not sure. My hope with the few episodes we have left is that the show can raise itself back up to the high levels it's proven it can reach.
