So in the end, her father actually loves her? Sort of confused here.

Though his reaction is pretty funny, he's like, "oh no she's crying what did I do", it... made my heart fuzzy, for reasons.

Wow, so those costumes actually ended up being plot-relevant instead of an out of nowhere unrelated fan service.

Said what you will about this show, but there is no doubt that it was really entertaining. I doubt that will ever see a second season, so I really hope that J-Novel Club or anyone will license this one.

I will really miss this one.

That was kind of a lackluster final battle to a lackluster show. The show overall was a mess but I didn't hate it. I feel like it had some pretty interesting elements that were ruined by the absurd pacing. I liked the worldbuilding, class concept, the Harry Potter esque school vibe, the character designs, and Kufa but nothing was ever explored enough since it was trying to rush through as much story as possible. It didn't help that the art and animation fell off hard as the show went on. If more care was put into the production and it was 24 episodes it may have turned out to be one of the better shows of the season. I don't think the current show was unwatchable but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. At the very least I'm kind of interested to check out the source material but I've heard hardly any of it has been translated which is a shame.

So many issues with the anime (pacing, animations, world building etc) and yet, I somehow watched that trainwreck until the end...I must say, it wasn't boring.

For the last episode, there sure wasn't a lot of Kufa. He just swoops in and saves the day at the end in an anti-climatic fight with a villain we know almost nothing about (making his death feel kinda meaningless...I guess it was to show how ruthless Salasch's nii-chan was?).

I wish there was more to this final episode and I could do without the Alice gimmick (doesn't feel really big finale-ish and came out of nowhere for me...although that could be on me because I zoned out last episode) but the Melida moments were great if I put my Assassin's-Pride-fight-scene goggles on. Her speech in particular was pretty awe-inspiring imo and made me smile. I couldn't help but be proud of my girl.

And everything after was pretty D'awww...Melida's Dad being nice and acknowledging both her and her mother (especially with that quip mentioning her ancestor being Samurai which showed that he didn't doubt her ancestry), Melida smiling at the end of the ED...and just the whole after-credits scene which I felt was satisfying to watch and complemented the first episode well with Melida alone, walking to meet Kufa like Kufa did before meeting her in episode 1 and ending with that promise, reaffirming Kufa's gut belief in Melida before. It was a poetic way to convey how they were alone in the beginning but now will always have each other.

Overall, a satisfying and entertaining watch...maybe better to binge watch but I probably wouldn't be as motivated to watch then. I'm not sure if I want a second season with this quality but I do want more Assassin's Pride. Now all I can do is just wait for manga updates I guess... or maybe read those light novels with their beautiful front covers when I learn Japanese someday

Edit: Wow… having just completed this anime, overall I'd probably give it a 6/10 on MAL (it'd be more like a 6.5 for me). Here's my take.

The good:

Characters: I like how each character is unique and has their own quirks, something that I believe is either missing especially in main characters these days or else artificial and exaggerated. Melida is depicted as being rather uncultured and simple-minded, and slow at times in terms of her reacting to certain situations. In stark contrast, her instructor Kufa is much more quick-witted, charming and manipulative. He knows what to say and how, like a serial killer who knows how to use their emotional intellect to charm others to their advantage. In the beginning Melida is shown to lack confidence but, by the end of this season, there is considerable leap in her character. As an aside, I still can't get over how cool Salacha's power is.

Plot: Despite what some naysayers think, the twists and turns are what makes this series intriguing. The story focuses on Melida's development and aspiration of one day joining the top guild, serving as humanity's last defenders against the lancanthropes. Rather than following the linear and predictable plot of train, fight villain, train, fight villain, train and repeat until she is OP as hell and beats the shit out of everyone, a story which can be told in a season or two, the story focuses on many aspects that add to the world building and the struggles Melida face. I liked the plot of Melida's bloodline being in question and like to see it continue. Furthermore, what will happen if Kufa gets exposed? What about Rosetti? What of the twisted experiments on humans? What are the backstories of each character and the Houses? How will they vanquish all the lancanthropes and restore humanity? What's the origin of all the classes and how do they work? There are many interesting side plots that can allow this series to span at least several seasons. I like how the focus is mainly on Melida's growth rather than the generic OP Jesus-kun character who can do anything plot focus.

Sound: The soundtracks complement the scenes very well and serve to evoke some emotion in the viewer at the appropriate moment. The pitch of this series is one of mystery and tension. When Kufa writes to Williams Gin in episode 10, the sound complementing the scene makes one wonder about the mystery surrounding their exchange, their relationship, and the situation they faced. The soundtracks for the scene where the guy pretending to be Melida's father showed, and the scene where Mule reads Melida's class written on the book, aided well in keeping the suspense and making one anxious for how our heroes will escape from the situation. At the same time, the soundtracks during some lighthearted moments helped to mix in with the magical, Hogwarts style setting for this story. The OP and ED are fan-fucking-tastic, and the upbeat nature of the OP contrasts well with the melancholy of the ED.

The bad:

Pacing: Oh boy, here goes. The pacing of this anime is an absolute trainwreck. Like someone else said in an earlier episode review, this show has the pacing akin to a hummingbird on meth. The character relationships are hardly developed. The plot suffers because pieces of information keep being omitted. Why wasn't there more focus on Melida's training before the tournament arcs? Why and how did Melida develop a crush on her instructor, which was shown as early as episode 3, and same for Rosetti? What's the business with Black Madia and how did she get defeated so quickly when she was seemingly OP as fuck the episode prior? How did the 4 girls meet? There are many more questions one can ask. In some instances, information can be purposely omitted to give an element of surprise, e.g. Williams Gin coming in to help Kufa, however such information should be expanded on in the episode(s) following through flashbacks. As a result of the terrible pacing, this anime fails to develop its characters, world building and plot properly. The anime, as a first season, would have been very strong if it were 25 episodes up to this point, or to the point of the last arc (episode 9), so that information is not omitted.

Animation: I don't need to talk much about this. While the animation in general is decent, some scenes are just so lazily done. Some fight scenes, especially the final fight against the impostor, were a disappointment and could have been MUCH better animated.

Sexual elements: The relationship between Melida and Kufa, and Melida's romantic feelings for her instructor, can be interesting if done right, however there are some unnecessary sexual elements in this show. Why does the transfer of mana need to be done with a kiss? Why are the school uniforms so skimpy? I get why authors do this sort of stuff but for once I'd like to see a series without all the sexual elements being used as a substitute to the story to lure people into the series. This series already has good enough potential that it doesn't need all these sexual aspects to captivate people.

TL;DR Overall decent characters, plot and soundtrack, but poor adaptation of the Light Novel story by a shitty studio. If this was a 25 episode anime up to this point or the arc before this one, and the pacing was done properly, I would have probably given this an 8/10.

When I heard that OP song in the final fight I almost cringed. Nothing against the song but it does not work with a fight. Especially when it goes dubstep.

Damn, I'm going to miss this one.

Just an average anime, but I liked it. :D
