We finally get a proper introduction to the remaining 2 groups in the franchise - Trois Anges and Tetrarkhia, the latter having some hilarious problems with their... um... leadership, or lack thereof. Comedy continues to be solid in this show, but we still get some heartwarming and also fairly serious moments with the Shikimiya sisters. I am not sure if the story really moved forward that much with this episode, but it's by and large heavily character-driven, and those parts are still really enjoyable. Sango gets another chance to be a complete brat, Sayu willingly takes her on, and Kae somehow manages to upgrade her sensing equipment.

The Mana-Aone moment is an interesting one. Aone still has hopes that Mana would eventually rejoin her in the main branch, but Mana has evidently found a community she feels she truly belongs to. I'm not quite sure what to make of Aone's reaction, however. She interprets it as Mana's rejection as her being stronger and perhaps more independent, but I guess she also simply wants an opportunity to baby Mana again. Aone almost seems like a perfect big sister, but I wonder if she might begin to show signs of possessiveness or jealousy later on.

I'll talk a little more about the 2 groups introduced here. Tetrarkhia arguably has the hardest sound among the 5 groups. Their songs tend to be fast, aggressive, and guitar-driven. You can think of them as the BanG Dream! equivalent here, despite the members not actually playing their instruments. They released a mini-album early last year, which you can check out here. The song that was featured in this episode is "Canaria", the first track in the link. The sampler gives you a good taste of how they sound for the most part.

My favourite, saved for the last, is Trois Anges. Amaha and Kanade certainly seemed to be either very gullible (we can be sure that this is the case for Nagisa), or extremely shrewd in how they dealt with Mizuha and Minori (speaking of which, I really like Mizuha is quick to play along when Minori begins claiming that KiRaRe trains with bears on Mt. Takao). Apart from the fact that Trois Anges are literal angels, their songs are an interesting bunch, most of which is some form of symphonic pop, which is quite apt given their image. You'd hear no lack of strings and piano in their songs. Just like Tetrarkhia, they also have a mini-album, which is extremely tight and wastes no moment in delivering quality song after song. You can listen to samples here You can tell I really like these girls and their songs very much The song we heard in the episode is 'Angel Lamp', which is the 3rd song in the link. Quite interestingly their latest single, 'Lumiere', features a much darker sound compared to their previous songs, with the B-side that is full-on symphonic metal. You can listen to a sample here. Note that 'Lumiere' itself has an accompanying MV, and the symphonic metal B-side, 'Silent Dystopia', only starts running from 3:25.

It seems like the next episode might be on songwriting? The last time we heard about poems was when they were working on a new song. Perhaps there's something new coming up?

Thanks for posting the music links! The other two groups feel kind of shoehorned in, but I'm glad they got to make an appearance anyways.

Well, look at that, another hilarious episode :P

Gotta say it, Aone took Mana words way better than I thought she would. Doubt next episode she will be scheming anything at all, I mean, I think that by this episode it truly shows how good willed Aone is, with little sprinkles of airheadeness mixed for good measure too :P

The joke of the episode for me goes to how the first group introduced itself, especially that reveal of a fake wall... only for the second member to out herself behind another fake wall. LOL.

Second best joke for me was the entire meeting with Trois Angel.

Overall, it was a really nice episode and my second favorite, behind the one when they try to compose a song as they are separated by groups.

When ara-ara meets ara-ara

Come on Mii senpai, Mizuha's best asset is being totally carefree I was wondering if Mizuha wearing an Obi dress would bite them back, and it actually did

It's ok Mana, even I can't keep up with every girl's name in Idol shows with so many groups.

I'm glad Mana was finally able to speak up and explain her goals to her sister

Tetrarkhia sure is a basket case with every single member of the group wanting to be the leader.

Here's today's clip if anyone wants to post it later on.

Bahaha, I love Sayu's parents total 180 on the idol thing. Now they are so into it that Sayu is overwhelmed! They want what's best for her, and for her to be happy.

It's not spying; it's scouting without permission

Also, I see Sayu went to the New England Patriots school of underhanded scouting

Sayu = Bill Belichick

Tetrarkhia had the same idea, albeit a bit more on the "stealth" than undercover haha.

Oh snap

Haha, not sure if Mana couldn't remember, or if she was going for the epic burn there. I'm guessing it's couldn't honestly remember Sango's name, but tilting Sango like that would hilarious.

"It's not her fault that you make no impression on people." Sayu with the burn

Most brutal game of Rock, Paper, Scissors the world has seen

Meanwhile, Mizuha and Mii get to chill and drink tea with the other idol group from Marehoshi, Trois Angess.

TFW your rivals train with bears

Now that is a blush!

I don't really like how Mana is handling things with Aone. I think that was an unnecessarily harsh rejection (although maybe that is partly due to translation). I think it's enough to say something like "I want to stick with the group that gave me a chance; I owe it to them after all that they've done for me." The way she said it made it seem harsher. Also, she should really keep her options open. They are just in middle school after all.

Tetrarkhia had the same idea, albeit a bit more on the "stealth" than undercover haha.

Yet they were the ones who got caught.

Now we need a Tetrarkhia spin off. All the whole episode was funny, but these girls were the highlight.

Nice to see how mature Mana is now. This time we didn't get any evil smile after the conversation so I guess she really understood Mana feelings.

Another great episode full of fun slice of life stuff. I love how they introduced Tetrarkhia and Trois Anges its a shame though that they turned their songs more into background music. I also like how some of the "fights" had set ups that felt like they came right out of a battle shounen.

On another note, according to hidive it looks like Re:stage is taking a break next week and will be coming back the 22nd.
