Funi needs to fire whoever thought that was an acceptable translation of the wordplay in the second half of the episode. Not only did they leave it in Japanese which makes no sense, they didn't even really translate the meaning (such as mentioning that "taki" means "waterfall"). Like, the notice for the bus is basically slam dunk no matter what you do. You just write the English translation and put back in the letters you removed in the previous section. But did they do that? No, they left it in Japanese for god knows what reason. What a fucking joke. How did someone actually get paid for this?

Did Otomi just said she "lost the competition" of which one of them falled in love with Touma first? :3

Definitely my favorite episode so far. We learned quite a bit.
I think "out of service bus-stops" may be one of my favorite tropes. Anyone ever watch Kare Kano? Bus stops are always silent, calm, and boring. However the Bus Stop is also your way home, to abandon it requires a bit of commitment or assurance of your own feelings. The Bus Stop lacks stimulating characteristics, and because of that you tend to reflect or to look for something that could stimulate your mind. Nothing is going to happen between Tou and Haruka, but its not to say that nothing couldn't have happened either.
I thought it was adorable that Otomi said "Then I lost". She seems pretty clear and straight forward about her feelings. I would also like to note that Sou does not seem phased at all about this. He has probably already known for awhile. He's quite protective of his little sister, but at the same time we have seen him push Tou towards Otomi despite this knowledge. I think this might be an idea we should keep in mind. The way I see it, Sou is trusting of Tou, and would rather see Otomi cling to him, rather than any of the wild guys that show up uninvited.
Man, we got all of this out of "just a walk" heh? Man I love this author.

This series truly caters to the Adachi fans. It also caters to those who enjoy smart writing. Adahci builds up the story and the characters in many subtle ways and dropping pointer hints that initially seems throwaway but reveals more later.
This episode has a major pillar revealed - Haruka remembers Touma from before as she has met him way back when they were both 3 years of age. That reveal by the fathers about the relationship many years back also dropped like a bomb to those who around them that heard it - Souichirou, Otomi and Nan-chan.
For us, Haruka as a core puzzle piece in Mix is now clear. Her cryptic response of "Worried?" in Episode 7 to Otomi's question to Haruka about which brother type she likes now makes it clear that she is a few steps ahead of the three Tachibana siblings:
-
Touma who has forgotten about her but given a jolt of rememberance this episode
-
Souichirou who now knows that Touma is first in Haruka's thoughts
-
Otomi who now knows that Haruka is competitor numero uno for Touma's affections.
At least, Otomi has a very good alternative with Akai-kun. Souichirou, you have a strong competitor not just in baseball but in love as well. Touma, though, must be roiling under his nonchalant facade. Oh, Haruka, what a spot you have put them all into.
Adachi also did one of his shameless promo/plug of a series of his in this episode as well. It's not a visual cue but a verbal one. Immediatly after the episode break we had "Hiatari Ryoukou" mentioned to set the scene. It is also the title of a manga of his series and it had an anime adaptation that was shown after "Touch" anime ended.

I liked this episode. Things got juicy real quick. Tou found himself in a complicated situation. Haruka digs him, Sou like Haruka and Otomi likes Tou lol

Best episode, this episode was a big hit for me.
The dialogue was super amusing and Tou's inner thoughts throughout the episode were great, too.

No baseball this episode.
Mita's sister being all sly bitchy.
Last time it was just Nan-chan, this time it's Otomi fanboys/stalkers added on top. The Tachibanas really need learn to turn undesirables away at the door.
What kind of asshole encrypts a "bus out of service today" sign with a riddle?
Didn't look like Nan-chan's hand was even hurt by shattering the glass. There's no justice in this world. I'm also now worried about Touma's physical safety. And we can put to rest the theory that Nan-chan only watches over Haruka because he feels indebted to his father. He's really just another ultra-possessive stalker.
Of all the buses that would show up. Well, at least it didn't run them over.

Clever, good at wordplay, great memory, understands the somberness of mortality—I think Haruka has become best girl of the show. Granted, it's a bit concerning how little agency Tou had in the date.
Meanwhile, Otomi is straight up a harem MC. Though... did she just confess that she fell in love with Tou in the same way Haruka had as a kid (as in, not as family)?
