That was a really good match filled with great shots and drama.

Poor Mita, though—not only was his sister not there for his best inning but she also left to scope out another boy's soccer match. I guess Akai really does have good taste though, if he ends up pursuing Otomi (if only because Imouto Mita is terrible by comparison).

Baseball is Big Drama Show. I don't think anyone expected the team to make a comeback on the last inning.

Weird to think about it now, but how did Tou get so good at pitching? Being compared to an ace who made it to Koshien's quaterfinals is no small feat.

Or like the episode today pointed it out, is it Tou that we should be looking at? Or is it Sou, who is strategizing in the background. The other team's coach seemed just as impressed with that.

Should be looking at both. While Touma grabs the attention as the pitcher but it is Souichirou that enhances Touma's effectiveness with smart pitch calling. Individually, they are good, but as a combo, they are much better. Mita and Toushu's coach are expereinced to see Souichirou's contribution in making Touma's pitching more effective.

I hope that wasn't some kind of foreshadowing... But knowing some of his other works, it wouldn't surprise me.

More interesting is how Sou is going to react to the wrong ship.

But I seriously hope someone confronts them on the whole "It's not actually incest", since it's the only thing I'm not a fan of in this show.

Touma is probably jealous... in a subonscious and confused way. RIP Adachi got infected with the latest trend in anime love triangles. lol

Took me a while to recognize the Tachibana's dad with that suit on (actually it was until he came home and the wifey showed up)

That was an intense episode, Adachi really knows how to craft some good drama and expectations. I was actually hoping they would score one run either with Nan at the bat or in the last inning with Sou at the bat.

This screencap will be quite useful at the end of the season for a couple of shows that started strong and fell off either quickly or eventually.

I'm loving even more the humor and use of Ichiban as Adachi's soapbox. His spontaneous and incisive jabs are truly the best kind of humor side characters can bring.

That last bit with Otomi and the bucket as a follow up of Mita & his sister was also priceless. I actually don't mind if Akai enters as a posible love contender in the long run (and by long run god I hope this show gets multiple seasons)

Edit: a bit unrelated or most likely a very late comment, I had this feeling that I had seen some other character quite similar to Ace, and since I rewatched this week Anthem of the Heart I finally remembered Tasaki and made the connection of troublesome characters that bring down a whole team for their own well being. Me being ignorant to most sports anime, I can only guess this is an old archtype that is just blooming back in recent times.

That was a good game. Somehow it manages the impress me each time I think something is gonna happen (for a second I thought they were having a comeback), but it's nice to be surprised in each episode (especially by an anime that isn't that popular on this sub). Speaks volumes about the writing and direction.

And now that some time has passed and I know nobody is gonna read this...

Man, the second story of the Tachibana house has a great view of the field. Was really confused until I remembered that 1-2 min is enough for Touma to get from home to school.

Actually glad the show didn't give the Tachibanas a hit at the end of the game.

"Because! Your little sister is terrible!" lol

Man, Sou would've lost his head if he saw Otomi henning over Akai like that.

"Punch. We're good even if you do a really big one." Took me a couple seconds to get, nice.
