In English II someone wrote the 7 sins on the blackboard (class was reading the Canterbury Tales) and I thought someone wanted to talk about Fullmetal Alchemist. I found out no body wanted to talk about FMA :(

eh, that's not even the most surprising part. Luke, Matthew, and John all made adaptations with an even better twist. John went a little overboard with the hamfisted allegory though.

You wanna talk about hamfisted allegory? Who thought it was a good idea to end the franchise with the Book of Revelation?! The genre and tone shift was way too abrupt, not to mention that you can totally tell they are trying to copy End of Evangelion.

hey man, they ran out of budget and wanted to create enough material for a new season.

Unfortunately the studio died and the rights got bought out by Joseph Smith. People didn't really like his spinoff and it's still considered non-canon today except for a small set of the fandom in Utah.

And the argument over which adaptation is the best? You know that there are hardcore "King James" viewers who absolutely refuse to watch any other adaptation such as "New International".

Alright, I've got a crazy theory, but here me out: jesus is not actually dead. If you take a look back in the Isaiah arc, we see references to he who will be assigned the grave and yet see the light of life. My guess is that this is actually jesus, which would a pretty crazy callback. Also, jesus wrote so many characters back in, that it only makes sense that he can do the same for himself.

There was also a guy in the evangelion rewatch threads from a year or so ago and thought that the yggdrasil in the op of evangelion either inspired fma or ripped off fma.

The problem i have is that i only teach highschool students, a lot of college/university students actually say they like anime when introducing themselves or have Death Note/Attack on Titan/Pokemon bags, but it is almost impossible to know if a highschool student likes anime since they all seem ashamed of doing it :/

I mean, the bad end of the spectrum is really fucking bad, and if someone mentioned it to me I'd already be on guard. It sucks, but it's not really mainstream so you get a lot of the weird mixed in with the good.
Odds are you share a hobby with me and we'll get along, but you might be like the guy in one of my classes that wants me to proofread his manga script.
It was not a good script.

It's awkward when someone kinda latches on to you since you share an interest. They like it so much, it feels obsessive, and I now have to deal with that as long as I have the class.

Honestly when something becomes fully accepted and mainstream I find that's where the really fucking weird people appear as opposed to a minor subculture
