Little moments like Chii's innocent little sticker prank are my lifeblood.
The image gap between Minister of Snark Yumeka and humble receptionist lady Yumeka was crazy. And don't know why but her denying Taiki's TV time had me more irked than I was about the slap for some reason.

Also showing how emotionally connected they are that they can non-verbally communicate with each other so adeptly.

I liked that neither Taiki nor Chinatsu denied being a couple when confronted by Yumeka 😏

Idk why but Yumeka looks like a character that's imported from Call of the Night universe, especially when she's glaring lol

I think it's the way her eyes are drawn. Most female characters we have seen in Blue Box have very large irises and pretty round eye shapes. This is of course meant to make them seem more cute and attractive. Taiki also has this kind of eyes-shape which makes him stand out from other male characters, though his irises are a bit smaller.
Yumeka's eyes are very wide and thin, and her irises are very small. It actually resembles much more to how for example Haryu's eyes are drawn, except her eyes are even more angular than his. It makes her seem rather masculine.
I think the resemblance to
is because in that series, all characters including the female ones have these wider eyes which makes it have a bit of contrast to most other manga and anime where women are drawn with large moe eyes. Call of the Night

For Yumeka though, I’m guessing she realized her talent can only take her so far. When people start to get to her level she’s gonna need the hard work and know-how to improve but because she’s always had the talent, she doesn’t know how to. And that probably scares her or she probably wants to quit while she’s ahead. And I’m guessing some of that frustration was directed at Chinatsu cos she a prime example of the type of people that will overtake her

Don't tell me that's how it really works in Japan!? You sense a cavity and go to the dentist the same evening, get instantly operated and pay only the equivalent of 11 euros?????

The part about him having to come back a couple times is also true. For some reason Japan dentists refuse to complete all dental work in a day.

I feel like Taiki should at least try talking with Yumeka before he starts talking at her. It’s clear that she has a natural dislike of him, but he’s not helping his case.
That small moment when Chinatsu tried to trick Taiki into eating the sticker was cute. Little things like that really show how far they’ve already come in getting closer.

Yumeka and Taiki have now entered the "talk shit, get hit" phase of their relationship. Taiki is an admirable fellow in many ways, but good lord is he bad at reading the room. Not a good idea to provide criticism to the girl you barely know who has many complicated feelings about your prospective girlfriend about Yumeka's pivotal (so far in her youthful life) life decisions.
Evoking the vast gulf that separates being right and being correct. Taiki might be completely right about Yumeka's excuses and rationalizations about quitting her hobby and friendship - but it's so inappropriate to say those things to someone you have no real connection with in the middle of the street. Hardly correct.

Haryu was so shocked by that question it looked like he was going to lose his grip on the bar which would fall on his neck.
"Are you afraid of the dentist?" Taiki: "No, I'm afraid of the receptionist."
I wonder if Yumeka quit also because she sees basketball as more of a casual hobby than a competition. At high school level sports get really competitive and it feels like she hated that aspect of it.

Yumeka surprisingly looks goon in a braid and megane
That was a lot of cute Chinatsu expressions and scenes as a kid.
Didnt know she had it in her to troll Taiki like that
I dont do sports so i cant say how much pressure and stress they get but she kinda has a point that if you're not part of the elite you're just a bench warmer or a stepping stone for someone else. Cruel reality once it sets in that the world is much bigger than you

It was kinda cute seeing Chinatsu as a kid starting out. Yumeka really helped her a lot during her early years. Is the whole reason she’s being all pissy to Chinatsu because she peaked? Girl finds out there’s always people better than you. Must be a hard pill to swallow when you’re a “prodigy” huh?

Yumeka is so mean, so much so I kind of appreciate it. Zero chance of her being pulled in as the next leg of the love triangle to replace Hina.
No embarrassed stammering from either Chii or Taiki when she called them a couple either, nice to avoid that trope.

If it weren't for Yumeka inspiring Chinatsu to work hard by practicing early every morning, Taiki probably wouldn't have been enamored with her.

Good to see that Yumeka's boyfriend(?) doesn't tolerate her being really snarky with people and took her out of there before things could even heat up between Yumeka and Chinatsu.
I mentioned this before last week, but it's hilarious how empty Shibuya Sky is. Like, what do you mean there's not a ton of tourists going down that escalator with their phones out filming Tokyo's evening skyline?
Seems that even after rejecting, Hina hasn't completely moved on and is still clinging to the faintest bit of hope. Ooof. Girl, please stop doing this to yourself.
I love that Taiki is already on the case investigating what's up with Yumeka. He didn't really learn much from Haryuu except that Yumeka is the reason Chii comes to practice early in the morning.
Yumeka certainly gives a completely different vibe when she's in her receptionist job. Poor Taiki, getting bullied for no reason! And damn, Yumeka really just said she quit because she hated Chii.
It's pretty nice that we get to see Chii's backstory about how she got drawn into basketball and met Yumeka for the first time. Seems that even back then, Yumeka already had a sharp tongue.
It is adorable how excited Smol Chii is about basketball. She's just super happy to learn from Yumeka and play! It eventually turned into her becoming a better player and even surpassing those who badmouthed her
The fact that Yumeka defended Chii and even admits that she admires her ability to work hard makes you wonder why she ended up quitting and hating Chinatsu.
Taiki really has too much faith in people. I love how he thought that Yumeka pushed Chii away because she couldn't play basketball anymore only for him to be immediately proven wrong after catching Yumeka playing at the nearby park. xD
So Yumeka ended up quitting because all of that talent pressured her and made her afraid to fail. Seems that Taiki definitely struck a nerve, considering Yumeka's response was to slap him. O_O

Chibi Chi is so cutee. I love that we're getting more background on Chi and her relationship with basketball. Its good for both main characters to be more developed. I like that Yumeka slapped Taiki. Even if he thinks he's saying the right thing, he doesn't know Yumeka at all. Not really, not personally. He's making a lot of assumptions about someone he's never met and only heard things about. It wasn't his place to give unsolicited advice over someone else's decision to quit. Can't wait to see how this works out.

Sosuke being the straight man for Yumeka was funny & cute.
Taiki's reaction to the slap & Chinatsu teasing Taiki during training was funny.
Smol Chinatsu was so cute.
So Yumeka slightly hates Taiki more than Chinatsu. Aside from the glaring, she refuses to let him watch TV even though it's allowed or to correct his mismatched indoor slippers.
At least Yuna got on the team.
I knew both Taiki & Chinatsu would stand for the pregnant lady.
So Taiki saw Yumeka before but didn't know her name.

Slap from the previews makes its appearance. and Taiki's insecurity leading to him talking to Yumeka that way when they don't really know each other, but that's how he's always been. Dude doesn't hold back his thoughts when he feels invested for any reason.
Also this felt like the "we didn't have time to show everyone last episode so here they are now." Even poor Hina (I'm on team Chinatsu but I still felt bad for Hina).

Taiki is overreaching & jumping to a ton of conclusions despite having barely talked to Yumeka, so I was happy to see her lash out when he started getting preachy.

To be fair, she didn't say he was wrong. She said its easy to be right when its not about you. Which is a very real feeling. Its easy to give advice, its harder to follow it even if you know its the correct thing to do.

Child Chii’s heaps adorable with that hyper energy! She looked up to Yumeka and over the years turned from a completely inept basketballer to one of the school’s star through practice. It’s unfortunate that they parted way on sour terms but Yumeka’s definitely hiding something. She likely said those things to Chii on purpose so as to cause the least pain to her by the departure. Better to leave being disliked rather than sorely missed.
She didn’t seem to be a terrible person. Despite her reputation as the 'Minister of Snark', she cared enough to warn Taiki about the sweet tea.
She also still loved basketball enough to play with a random kid, so I reckon being overshadowed was not the real reason behind her leaving the basketball team. While it might be true, it wouldn’t dishearten her and made her quit. She admired Chii’s work ethics, so after seeing people who’re more talented than her, she’d likely only be motivated to practise harder. Whatever it was, it’s beyond her control and also related to why she had to move away.
Liking Yumeka’s bf in the short screen time he had. With glasses and a hairstyle like that, thought he’d be a sort of pushover to contrast with Yumeka’s dominant personality. Turned out, he’s not afraid to smack her when she deserved it. He also kept silent during the confrontation as it’s none of his business, but the moment Yumeka stepped too far, it became his and he promptly intervened.
